Callie’s POV
I put on a backless black dress, with long sleeves. I brushed my hair to one side and put on a simple white gold chain. I picked up my pewter colored high heels and snuck out of the pack house. I made sure that I masked my scent and did my best to not make any noise.
Tons of practice in that department, I had to learn to do this in the first year I was at the boarding school. Days like this I am grateful for my extra gifts. There is also my other gift; I can change my DNA structure. I can go from being a werewolf to seamlessly like a human. Another trick I had to learn when I was tested and had to give blood.
I got into Sarah’s car and we drove to the club.
Smiling I walked to the front of the line at the club.
“Hey!” Someone screamed. “Get back to the end of the line like everyone else.”
I ignored whoever it was. I had no time to bother with some i***t. Neither did the bouncer, he just let me in. I was expected.
I walked through the crowd of people and made my way to the bar. If I knew Alex he would be in the VIP section. I didn’t want to be there.
I didn’t bother ordering a drink, I just waited a minute and the bartender placed a martini in front of me. “The gentleman, over there said I should give this to you.” He said and pointed to a man wearing a white shirt. He looked like he was in his late twenties and was okay looking with his brown hair and grey eyes and looked like he did some wrestling in high school.
I smiled in his direction and lifted my drink up to thank him before I took a sip. I finished my drink and then made my way through the crowd and started dancing. Any moment now and Alex will appear by my side and dance with me.
“You never change.” A voice said behind me. I felt Alex wrap his hand around my waist and move with me as I danced to the beat of the music and felt the vibrations of the music bouncing against the walls and floor move through my body.
“You know I will never change.” I said and leaned into him. I lifted my arm up and wrapped it around his neck. My back was firmly against his chest and his hands were roaming my body.
Alex smiled down at me and gave me a quick peck on my lips. “I missed you, babe.”
I removed my arm from his neck and then turned around in his arms. “I missed you too.”
We danced most of the night. When we weren’t dancing we were drinking and talking a bit. We were having fun. He flirted with any and all the girls that he came into contact with and when I got fed up with it, I danced with the guy in the white shirt who bought me a drink earlier on.
“You are an incredible dancer.” The guy said. “What’s your name?”
“Callie, and yours?”
“Dave, want to get out of here?” He asked seductively, or what I suppose was meant to be seductive.
“No, I am here with that guy over there. Sorry.” I said and pointed over to Alex who was glaring at us.
Dave just nodded and when the song ended told me he had to go. I laughed when he left and
Alex made his way up to me.
“What was that all about?” Alex asked.
“He wanted me to leave with him, but I told him I was with you. Turns out he didn’t take that all too well.” I pouted and Alex smiled.
“It is four in the morning. I think you should leave now.” Alex said.
“I agree,” said a very familiar and angry voice.
I turned around to see Chase along with two other members from his pack. There was also a girl with him who stood just behind him and was smirking at me. That was until she noticed Alex, then she was eyeing him and licking her lips.
I tried my best not to chuckle or roll my eyes, but I couldn’t help it. The girl was ridiculous. I took in her scent and memories flashed through my head, the day I found out that Chase was a no good cheating bastard.
I growled and Alex had to pull me back. I noticed Chase sneer, when he thought I was jealous of his old and thoroughly used toy. Alex let me go when he felt I was relaxed.
“Not just yet, there is something I want to do.” I said and walked up to Chase. I could hear his heart beat speed up as I touched his cheek and pulled his head down to mine.
The girl who was standing behind him was growling at us, but was silenced by the two other men from Chase’s pack.
“Kiss me,” I whispered.
Chase wasted no time in kissing me and shoving his tongue into my mouth.
I wish I could say I felt something, but I felt nothing. There was no longer a spark between us and I stopped kissing him back. Chase didn’t like it; he was practically choking me, by shoving his tongue as deep as he could down my throat.
He finally gave up and pulled away. “What’s wrong?”
“Nothing, I think I should go. Have fun with your bimbo.” I said and walked away from him and pulled Alex with me.
“Am I really such a bad kisser that you feel you have to run away from me?” Chase asked, while I was still in hearing distance.
“You just weren’t as good as he was. Chase I felt nothing, there is no bond between us anymore. That little experiment just proved it. I am sorry.” I said
“Better than who?”
Better than Killian is what I wanted to say, but I didn’t. Right there staring at all of us was Killian and he looked hurt. I wanted to run to him, I haven’t thought of him since we last met in the mall.
Seeing him now made me realize that he means more to me than I thought he ever would.
I was going to make my way to him and away from Chase and Alex when I felt my phone vibrating in my clutch bag.
I took it out to see it was Joseph that was calling me.
“Hello?” I answered.
“Callie, where are you?” Joseph asked, his voice was trembling and I could hear some other noises that sounded a little distant in the background.
“I am out, what is wrong Jo?”
“It is Mommy, something happened she was taken and Daddy is being healed he was badly hurt.”
“Where are Jayden and Uncle Caleb?” I asked, beginning to panic. I looked at Alex and at Killian before running out of the club.
I needed to get home.
“They are searching the perimeters. Looking for clues, Callie I’m scared.”
“Don’t be, Sarah and I are on our way.”
I ended the call, got Sarah and quickly made our way to the car. Alex, Killian and Chase had followed us.
I can’t do this now.
I can’t handle this now.
“Alex, I need you to come with me. Killian you need to go to your pack and make sure everything is okay. Something happened and I am not exactly sure what it is. Chase, you need togo home to. Your pack is about four hours away from mine, I need you to make sure your pack members are ready for anything bad that might happen. I will call you two when I have more news.” I said and then got into the car.
I wasted no time in seeing if they were doing what they were told to do. I got behind the wheel, Sarah went to the back seat and Alex got in the passenger seat and I broke every traffic rule in the book getting home.
By the time I got there the pack house was in an uproar and Jayden hadn’t returned home yet. I needed order.
I let out a loud wolf whistle and told everyone to stop what they were doing and to calm down.
“Okay, I need you all to calm down. I spotted Aunt Leah trying to get the pack under control and calm everyone down. I called her over to me. Is Ellie with my father?” I asked them all.
They all looked at me like I was crazy and that was when I was told that she moved to Afghanistan and was helping out over there.
I sighed and then whistled again. When they started to panicky chatter amongst themselves again.
“Okay, we do not know who it is that took my mother or what they want, but what we do know is that they messed with the wrong pack. I want all the pack warriors to make their way to me now and I want the rest of you to go to your rooms and get ready for the day. This does not change anything. If you are in school, go to school and if you work, then go to work. We will have a pack meeting tonight. Am I understood?” I yelled out.
“Yes, Alpha.” They all chorused.
I was making my way to Joseph when I realized what they called me. That can’t be right, can it? I am not their Alpha. I am the previous Alpha’s daughter and the present Alpha’s sister. That is all I am.
“Hey Jo, I need you to come with me. I need your help to help heal Daddy. Okay?” I said and held his hand in mine.
Joseph is strong, but he is still just a child and he needed me even though I struggle to show many emotions these days. I had to let him know that I am with him and that we are in this together.
Joseph nodded and we made our way to where the Pack doctor was and two other pack members who were lifting my father up and putting him on a gurney. He won’t make it to the hospital in time.
“Put him down!” I commanded.
“Are you crazy?” The pack doctor shouted at me. “If we don’t move him now to the hospital he will die.”
“He will be dead by the time you arrive at the hospital.” Sarah’s timid voice said. “Let her help him, she knows what she is doing.”
Sarah had no idea how right she was there. “I have a gift, I can heal people but I am not strong enough to heal people who are near death and there is always a price for healing people. The price is I feel a lot of pain and sometimes it’s hurts so much I feel like I am close to death. I need Joseph with me to give me the extra strength I need.” He has not discovered his gifts yet, but I will awaken them tonight and with his and Sarah’s help we will save my father.
“I need you and Sarah to put your hands on top of mine and focus on me, okay?”
They nodded and we sat around my father. I placed my hands on his chest and focused on healing him from the inside out. I felt Sarah and Joseph’s energy flow through me but it was not enough. It was beginning to drain me more than I expected it to; I didn’t want to take too much from them. All of a sudden I felt another energy flow through me, one that was familiar to me.
I started screaming as I felt my father’s pain become my own. It hurt so much. I felt my insides being stabbed and turned to mush, although this won’t harm me it hurt like hell.
When it was all done, I looked up at Alex and saw the worry in his eyes as I passed out from all the pain I was in.
Joseph’s POV
When Callie passed out, I was worried. First Mommy was taken, Daddy was hurt to the point of death and now Callie just passed out after trying to help Daddy.
I started to shiver as though a coldness entered me and I saw that Sarah was crying. She was at Callie’s side begging her to wake up.
“It’s alright. She just passed out, she is a little weak at the moment and needs to rest for a bit. It takes a lot to do what she just did. She didn’t want you to feel any pain which is why she wanted you two to focus your energy on her.” The man, who entered the room earlier said. “That and she was not sure what lasting effects this might have on you.”
“Will she be alright?” I asked the man. He looked like one of those men on billboards for those cologne adverts, with tattoos that twirled around his neck and some on his arms that were slightly hidden by the long sleeved shirt he wore.
“Yes, she will be. She just needs a little time to rest.” He said and put a hand on my shoulder.
All of a sudden I felt calm and knew I could trust him. I just nodded my head and moved to Sarah.
“She will be okay.” I said softly.
Sarah looked into my eyes and then nodded. She hugged me then let go and stood up.
“Amazing!” Dr. Peters said, as he did a check up on my Daddy. “Looks like he will be just fine, he should be up in a few hours. Is Callie okay?” He asked.
“Yes, she is fine.” The man said.
“Who are you?” Dr. Peters asked.
“Alex, I am a friend of Callie’s.” he said.
That kind of explains his British accent. Callie was in London for so long she must have made a ton of friends there.
“Okay.” Dr. Peters said.
“Hey Joseph, can you show me where Callie’s room is?” Alex asked
“Can’t you smell where it is?”
“Nope, I’m not a werewolf.” Alex said and I saw his eyes glimmered when mine widened. “I am a warlock.”
This was so cool! I finally got to meet a warlock.
I showed Alex where Callie’s room was and then when he put her down, I crawled onto the bed beside her.
When she wakes up I want to be the first person she sees.
Alex just smiled at me and made himself comfortable on the chair that was on the side of the room. “Wake me up if something happens.” He said before he closed his eyes.
Today is the worst day of my life; I really wish Callie was awake right now to comfort me.
I need my family to be okay.
