Adam had been flying for so long that he had stopped keeping track of the time. His massive wings sliced through the air as he circled the training hall, the sound of each powerful flap echoing loudly against the walls. His body felt heavy, his muscles aching beneath the thick scales covering him, but he refused to stop. He couldn't. Every time exhaustion began creeping in, every time his wings grew heavier and his breathing became more strained, Adam forced himself to fly faster. Higher, harder. Again.
