The walk back home was unusually quiet.
No one seemed to know what to say after everything that had happened at Petal's house. Harry's interruption, the cancelled ritual and the mission Petal had suddenly dumped on them before they left continuously replayed in their minds, each of them trying to figure out what exactly they had gotten themselves into.
By the time they got home, the silence had only grown heavier.
Bernard was seated in the living room reading a book when they walked in. He looked up the second the front door opened, immediately sensing the strange atmosphere surrounding the four of them. Normally, Miranda would have greeted him with some sarcastic remark while Tina would ramble about something completely unrelated. Even Adam usually had something to say.
