THE WOUNDED PRINCE

1017 Words
Liviana walks through the Market Square, with a black cloak over her, her purple gown was visible enough and a basket hanging beside her hand. From time to time, she learnt how to hide her powers and mix around the crowd a little, she ran errands for Gaia, which made it possible. Gaia taught her just enough. "Pretty girl, what would you like to buy?" An old woman asked, gripping her hands tight. "Nothing," she says, in a low and calm tone, struggling to let go but the lady seemed pretty strong. "Here, have this," She says, placing a bead necklace in her hands. "I don't want it," she says, smiling back at the lady. "You have such beautiful eyes," She says, staring at her, closing her hands tight with the bead inside. Liviana looked around her, standing in the King's market if someone had heard her she would be beheaded right away. "The source of your powers, the more you hide your powers the more they get dimmer" Liviana broke away from her hold, moving away. "Who?" she panicked, looking around. "She looked back at the old lady and she was gone. Her breath ragged as she moved backwards staring around for her, Liviana dropped her basket letting the herbs out of it. "Make way for the prince!" A male voice faded into her ears, the market became noisy as everyone slammed into each other trying to clear the path, the whines of the horses and the gallop became clearer. Liviana breathed in and out, trying to calm herself. "Don't let anyone know about you!" Gaia's voice echoed. "Get out of the road!" She heard, raising her gaze but the horse and already hit her, pushing her into the crowd of people. "Stop!" Aiden says, stopping at the centre of the market. He got down off the horse, staring at her laying on the floor. "Hey?" he took off his glove, walking towards her, Liviana struggled to get up. The market became quiet as everyone watched him, walk closer to her, Liviana breath continued to gag. "My lord!" A lady knees before him, wrapping Liviana in her arms. "I'm sorry, my sister has not been well, she isn't used to the crowd," She says, patting her head. "Your sister?" He asks. "Yes, my lord," She says, lowering her gaze to the ground, Aiden stared at her and back to Liviana, hearing her breath loudly. "Well, she sounds terrified" He smiles, getting up, his eyes found the bead necklace. "I think she dropped this" He picks it up, handing it over to her. "Thank you, my lord" She takes it from him, placing it into her pocket. "Take care of her," He says, smiling at them both. "Would do?" She says, holding her closer she watched him get back on his horse along with his Knights. "Come on!" Aiden," He tells the rest, riding away. The market went back to normal, everyone continued with their business again, She helped Liviana up, taking her out of the crowd. "Thank you" She whispers. "Here," She hands the beads over to her. "No, it's not mine" "It looks beautiful," she placed it in her pocket, opening a door to a small Cottage. "Where are-" "Shush, sit," She says, helping her to a chair. "Who are you? why did you help me?" "I am Daisy, your mother is a friend of mine," She says, introducing herself. "My mother? you know my mother?" "No, I heard so much about her, I never got to meet her" Liviana lays, her head on a pillow. "I also" "I think you met her, Liviana" Daisy says. "How do you know my name?" "Well, it's a long story" "You must know who I really am" "Yes, one of the greatest witches to walk the earth" "Very funny, I can't even control my powers, and I don't intend on using it" "You can learn Liviana" "Thank you, I don't need you to lecture me" she forced a smile, trying to get up. "You need to rest" "No, I must head back" "The prince has gone hunting, going into the forest now, you are going to get hunted" "I can't stay here" she gets up, "It's dangerous!" "No, it's not I got this" She "You got this? you nearly-" "Look, thank you for your help, but I have to go" "I work at the Palace kitchen just in case you search for me" "I won't" She got up. "You could never know" Daisy watching her adjust her dress, "I live here" She adds. "Thanks for the info, my basket" She sighs, heading out. The door slams behind her she covers her hair well, heading towards the forest, she looked around for her basket but it was nowhere. After a long walk, she finally steps inside the forest, Liviana takes off her hood exposing her hair. "The source of your powers, the more you hide your powers the more they get dimmer" "What does she know!" she kicked a branch, "My eyes or powers are nobody's business" She breathed out. Liviana paused hearing noises "Find him!" She heard a man roar, the clang of swords became louder. She ran and hid behind a small bush, panting hard, she covered her hood back, sitting there. "Ugh!" a voice came from beside her, she narrowed her gaze beside her seeing a young man panting behind her, she gasped seeing the blood around him "Goodness!" she covered her mouth, crawling closer to him. "Ughhh!" He moaned louder "Shusssh!" She held his stomach where had injuries. "I want the prince alive!" Liviana looked at him, his eyes closed slowly, he was dying his eyes were pale and he struggled for breath. She moved away from him, hearing he was a royal. "Help me!" He gripped her wrist, Liviana gasped staring at him. "Huh?" She panicked, looking away, she took his hands off her, crawling backwards. "Hmmm!" He tightened his grip. Liviana gasped looking around, he was a royal, her life was in danger. She took a deep breath contemplating what she should do.
