Chapter Thirty-Seven Brian adjusts the wipers to full as the snow falls quickly on his vehicles windscreen. A startled deer jumps across the road in front of him. He slams on the brake, the rear of the car slides out sending him straight towards the wire cable barrier at the edge of the road. The front smashes into a wooden post and stops. He breathes heavily and gathers his nerves. The cars powerful engine ticks over. Stepping out into the mountain air and driving sleet, Brian wraps his scarf tightly up over his mouth then walks around to look at the vehicle. The solid chrome front bumper is slightly dented.
