“It’s fine Grimmer. They’re just being honest.” Tyesha waved her hand to his personal guard. Zaphiel smacked his brother back to his senses. “Are you stupid? Don’t you realize that you are hurting Princess Tyesha with your words?” Grimacing slightly, Zamiel caressed the back of his head where his brother smacked him. “Eh? Am I?” he asked. Tyesha was a bit surprised on how Zaphiel acted. She didn’t think that he could be a bit matured in thinking and in courtesy. Zamiel exhaled a sigh, and faced Tyesha. “I’m very sorry Tyesha. I didn’t mean to hurt you.” He slightly lowered his head. “Don’t worry Zamiel, It’s fine.” The Princess smiled at him. Zamiel turned to his brother and scratched the back of his head. “So, what’s the plan? What are we going to play now?” “You can just play. I’ll stay here and listen to both of you. At the very least, I am happy to hear somebody else having fun times.” Tyesha smiled. They decided to follow what Tyesha had suggested. Well, they didn’t have any choice either. The twins played near Tyesha under the shade of a tree. The princess could hear the soothing sound of the trees and the grass as the wind blew, and the laughter of the twins as they made fun on each other. She never thought she could feel this light feeling again, just laughter and solace. A place where she won’t suffer anymore. A place willing to accept her as herself. It was this time; she could smile and laugh genuinely again. The twins would come with their father every day to the palace so they can play with Tyesha. Whenever the Emperor takes a break from his work, he would always order his men to get Tyesha to spend time with him. It was until Linfred thought about letting his daughter go to the academy and learn there. To take school like a normal child would be. The twins became her classmates. Well, because she couldn’t see anything all she could do was listen to her teachers and other classmates talking about the lessons. And because she really needed special attention and teaching due to her condition, Linfred called on teachers for his daughter to teach her with every subject. It was really a normal school; a child should normally experience. Normal teachers a child could learn from. The picture was almost perfect, but that was not really the case. She wasn’t still safe from criticisms and being looked down. Even despite being the Princess of the country. Everytime her teachers turn their backs to the child; they would start whispering and gossiping things about the child. They called her a useless Princess of the great country of Asseraviel. A worthless blind Princess, in which the emperor only took her out of his mercy. “I do really think that she’s not really a real daughter of the Emperor.” “That’s what I thought as well. I guess the Emperor just pitied her because of her condition, that’s why she was taken in.” That’s what the gossips were. The teachers were ridiculing the child without her knowing. “And you would really believe in such hearsays?” Grimmer suddenly emerged behind the teachers of Tyesha. “Nobles believing in hearsays? Isn’t that a bit shameful?” The nobles who were assigned as teachers of Tyesha froze and became pale as they saw Grimmer behind them. “Grimmer?” they whispered. “Here you are talking about nonsense and such ridicules to the Princess. How shameful can you really get given the fact you are the well-respected nobles of the country. And here at the Palace’s hallway really? That’s a bit gutsy for you, you know?” Grimmer just went past the nobles and stopped for a bit. “And what are you thinking? Are you stupid? Since, when did you believe that the Emperor would have mercy on some random child.” “G-grimmer… we-we’re not really ridiculing the princess…” “Really? What are you trying to say when you called the child as a useless princess? Oh… let’s add up that allegation you made that she’s not really the Emperor’s child. Are you trying to fool me here?” Grimmer chuckled. “You better be careful of your words Grimmer. Remember, you are just from the knights and was just assigned as the Princess personal knight guard. We nobles have the upper hand in status against you.” Grimmer erupted into laughter. “So, you’d really cling to that social ranking status? Can that really save you from the Emperor if I decided to spill this to him?” They couldn’t say anything, and just fell silent. They were pale and bullets of sweat formed on their faces. Of course, they knew how terrifying the Emperor could be. Their social status wouldn’t matter, that’s the fact they all knew. Grimmer just went on and didn’t thought of turning to look at the nobles. He wasn’t really expecting he would catch Tyesha’s teachers and talk bad behind her. He was just heading towards Tyesha’s chambers for his duties as her personal knight. When Grimmer arrived at the room, the twins were already there. He usually teaches the two in honing their swordsmanship while Tyesha just quietly sits in the side listening to them. “HA! YAAH!” She could hear them yelling and panting. The noise created as their wooden swords bash against each other filled her ears which she enjoyed as well.   Linfred, The Emperor’s Office   “What will you do now?” Taran asked. “Do what?” Linfred asked, as he flipped the pages of the documents he was reading. “To Lady Janette.” Fodel replied. “Why? What’s with that woman?” Linfred darted glances to Fodel and Taran. He put down the document he was reading and gazed to them. Both of them were sitting in the couch. “We all know that the marriage is just for political reasons. But we all know as well that the marriage isn’t really necessary to strengthen your position in the throne.” Fodel explained. “And even without them and the marriage, your grip in the power is still strong. No one could nab it from you and from what I see no one would really dare to. So, that decision of marrying her was really a bit surprising. Did you offer marriage to her just because you wanted a child?” Taran continued. Linfred didn’t reply and just went silent. Silence imbued inside the emperor’s office.
