The Lost Girl

“Take her,” her mom shouted, “Who wants a kid who will not listen and let’s her father find us.” “This is your five year old daughter,” the detective said. “What am I supposed to do with her.” Her mother turned around and walked inside. Before she closed the door the girl heard her say, “I don’t care what happens to the little witch. She knew better than to leave this house while I was gone.” “I will call her grandparents I guess. Do you know their number?” The detective asked. “Ask him,” her mom pointed at her dad in the back seat of the police car. She them slammed the door. Delores saw the detective talking to her dad and wondered what was going on. He was in the back of one police car while his best friend James was in the back of the other. FLASHBACK: The little girl looked out the window and thought to herself; the girls are asleep so I am going to swing at the park across the street. Mommy will never know. As Delores headed out the door in nothing but a nightgown and a thin jacket with her slippers she thought about putting something else on because it was so cold. She decided that it was just going to be a few minutes so it was okay. As she was swinging she saw a bus go by. Little did she know that her dad was on board and saw her. “Delores is that you?” She heard someone whisper. As she looked up she got so excited because she realized it was her daddy. Mommy and Uncle James had taken her and her two sisters a week before to a new home. Every afternoon when her mommy left she had told her to stay in the house and take care of her 2 and 3 year old sisters. “Do not leave this house,ever.” Her mommy said. But she had and now she was so excited to see her daddy. He went inside the house with her and checked on the girls. Delores feel asleep on the couch next to her daddy waiting for her mommy and Uncle James to get home. “You scum, she is my wife and those are my kids.” Delores woke up to the screaming of her daddy. “I love him and nothing you ever do will change that George.” Her mom yelled. She saw her dad and Uncle James get into a fight. Mom ended up calling the cops. When they got there they broke them up and put them in their cars. FLASHBACK ENDED “I don’t care what you do with her, just get her out of my life.” Her mother yelled through the door. The cop came over to her and put his jacket around her arms. “Your grandparents are on the way.” He said “Where are you taking my daddy?” Deletes asked. “He is going to jail for fighting,” the elective stated. “But why can’t I go back into the house?” Delores asked. “Your mommy says she doesn’t want you anymore.” He said. “But don’t worry your grandparents and uncle are on the way.” After waiting for what seemed like eternity her grandparents showed up with her Uncle Steve. “You are going to live with us.” Her grandfather said. “But I want my sisters.” Delores replied. “I am sorry baby, she said only you have to leave. We will take really good care of you.” Her grandmother said. “Okay grandmother, I am ready to go.” Delores said.
