CHAPTER 3 Starting new life

Early in the morning, Yani's Mother prepared for their departure. It is difficult for her to go far but she had to accept her destiny. It was not easy for Yani to leave the place where she grew up and away from her parents.
In the town of San Emilio province of Ilocos is their destination. The place where Alejandro will take her. After their wedding he will take her to the mansion with him.
Yani did not know that she was with her two friends. Her friends talked to Alejandro to accompany her. Rhea and Mandy want to help Yani until she used to her new life. They think it is difficult to be alone in an unfamiliar place.
Yani almost didn't want to let go of her Mother's hug. She was like a crying baby away from her parents. This is the first time she has separated from her parent.
Alejandro's car arrived. Rhea comes down first excitedly about their departure. Mandy followed getting out of Alejandro's car.
When Yani saw her friends, she was surprised looking at the two. She slipped out of her Mother's embrace and wiped the tears from her eyes. She frowned and confronted them.

“Why are you two here? And wait! What does this mean?” I asked and misunderstood why they came so early.
My two friends did not answer but they just smiled. I was distracted when Alejandro spoke. He approached me with a serious face. He held my hand to explain the decision of my friends.
“They just want to alleviate your sadness. Your friends also want to be with you until you get used to your new life," he explained.
On the other hand, I grinned. It is very difficult to start a new life without other’s sympathy. I just nodded at what he said.

It's about time for them to leave the place she loves for 24 years. Yani's Father reminded Alejandro to take care of their daughter. Yani hugged her parents again for the last time. She could do nothing but face the new life planned for her.
After a six-hour trip, they reached San Emilio. Yani overlooks the wide ranch. Her two friends also couldn't help but amazed at the extent and beauty of the ranch. They pass many fruit trees on the road going to the mansion.
The mansion is surrounded by the entire ranch. The entire land of San Emilio was ownership by the Vergara. They were amazed by how big the mansion when they reached it. It is a bit old but the structures are still intact.
Her friends immediately came out. They toured the beautiful garden in the mansion. Yani was stunned staring at the big house. She felt something strange like she was related to this house.
“Are you ready?” Yani was startled by Alejandro's question. She just nodded but she was a little bit nervous about the new life will face Alejandro.
They were both stopped when a man came. An old man who is almost the same age as Yani's father. He hurriedly approached them. He was obviously surprised to see Alejandro.
“Sir, you did not say that you will come today,” he said after he greeted them. But his eyes were on Yani. His eyes full of curiosity thinking who was she?” Alejandro immediately turned to him.
“Mr. Victor, this is my wife Yani and she has two more friends with us," Alejandro explained.
Victor is the caretaker of the whole mansion. He has been serving them for a long time. He took over the position by the left side of Yani's father, Arthur.
He smiled at them. He cannot believe it because of the age gap between the couple. Yani did nothing but smirk back at the old man. Alejandro immediately pulled her coming into the mansion. She just let her husband do what he wanted to do. They left the old man bewildered. Alejandro left the belongings to Victor and instructed him to enter their room.
As they entered the mansion they are met by two servants. An old woman and a young lady. Like Mr. Victor, the two were shocked to see Alejandro. It was like a puzzle for Yani, why they all reacted like that?”
“Mrs. Lilia, where is Condrad?” he asked Lilia. She is Mr. Victor's wife and Lisa is their only child. Lisa is currently studying while helping her mother work in the mansion.
“The couple just left," Lilia replied after greeting them.
Alejandro introduced Yani to the servant. Rhea and Mandy are chasing each other into the house. Alejandro ordered Lilia to take Yani's friends to the guest room. She just nodded as her reply to him. Since they arrived at the mansion in the afternoon, Alejandro told Yani's friends to rest first. He also ordered Lilia to prepare for their dinner.
The couple immediately comes upstairs. Yani looks at the antique furniture. She passed old pictures in the corridor of the mansion. She wanted to look at it but Alejandro pulled her away back into their room.
She was surprised when the door opened. A king-size bed and colourful bedsheets. It was as if the room belonged to a woman. Her eyes examined the whole room. She noticed the old pictures on the wall. She wanted to look at it, but Alejandro distracted her again.
“Do you like our room?” he asked with a smile.
She looked at her husband full of confusion. It took her for a while before she could speak.
“Did you prepare all these things? How do you know the colour I like?" she asked with a frown. All the colours and things here were I liked since childhood.
“Huh? I don't know the things and colours you like! This room is belonging to my Father. When he died, I was the one who occupied it. I didn’t change it since it is the memories that remained here. The things here and the colour is your mother likes," he explained.
“What do you mean? My mother likes it? I asked confused.
I didn’t get what he said. How did it happen that my mother wanted it? He stiffened to my question. It was as if he realized something and remembered what he had said. He turned to me and smiled mischievously.
“Oh! Sorry! I mean my mother," he replied immediately.
I am not convinced by his answer. I am a lawyer and I know how to scan people’s facial expressions. I just ignored what he said first. I will uncover his secrets today.
“Rest first I know you are tired from the trip," Alejandro said as he entered the toilet. He immediately lay down on the sofa after taking a bath.
“From now on you will be there in bed and I will be here on the sofa," he said and while pointing his finger at the bed.
“Wait! We can sleep in bed together. It was too big for me to sleep here alone. I know I'm not used to having a guy next to me. Even though I was also ashamed of him and I offered him to sleep beside me.
“No! I'm okay here, don't mind me I already used to be like this," he replied and closed his eyes. He didn’t bother to go near Yani’s bed.

After I took a bath, I thought of going out to get some drinking water. I glanced at Alejandro as he slept soundly. I walked slowly down the corridor because I wanted to look at the old pictures. My curiosity for the pictures made someone notice me.
“Hey! Who are you? Are you a new servant?" the lady asked her questions loudly.
I looked at her from head to toe. She was dressed like a queen. She has a suspicion on her face. She raised an eyebrow looking at me. At that point I was unable to speak.
“What are you staring at me? Take my belongings and put them in my room," she ordered angrily. I was so nervous because I couldn't complain. I just followed her and carried her belongings silently. I followed her into their room.
When I laid down her belongings on the floor, I immediately stepped out. No words came out from my mouth.
“Wait! Where are Lilia and I can't find her in the kitchen?”
“I don't know," I replied nervously.
“Who is she?" question lingers in my mind. Alejandro did not mention to me who lives in the mansion.
“Hmm ... You can leave now," she said smirking at me. I stepped out of her room and then she called me again
“Wait! Give me something to drink," she ordered while her left-hand rest on her waist.
My lips quivered without knowing if I would ask her. Because I don’t know what she wants to drink. I did not realize how long I had been stunned in front of her.
“You fool!” she shouted loudly. I startle at the sound of her voice.
“Will you just stare at me or follow my orders?” she kept yelling at me.
I was in a hurry to get out of her room. In my panic I did not notice that I would meet anyone. I collided with a hard iron. At the force of my collision I knelt down. I saw that there were feet in front of me.
I looked up to see it. A man is sitting in a wheelchair staring at me. His stare had a scary look. His eyes were red and he had a scar on his face.
“Condrad…. A grim and deep voice surprised us and we immediately looked behind us...
