CHAPTER 6

LUCAS

You are the worst.

I said as I glared at Daniel's face I drew a long time ago on the light blue wall inside my small room which I used to share with Harris. I soon rolled my eyes before looking away. I drew that before I turned seventeen and Daniel was like... sixteen?

Daniel suddenly dyed his blond hair pink and it was a huge surprise to all of us. He changed his looks as well as his personality. It is like he went mad and bullied me on the same day he decided to be pink and shiny.

I was crying the whole week because I wasn't used to that side of him and locked myself in the room. He became cold and mean, and after a few days Zoddy started to become violent to me as well. I knew that Daniel forced him to hurt me because at first Zoddy secretly apologized to me when Daniel was gone, but he enjoyed it afterwards.

Our friendship disappeared like that. Until to this day, I can’t find the reason why he changed…

Only Zicky stayed by my side and I couldn't be more thankful to my lover. If he weren’t there, I probably have gone mad now.

The mickey mouse clock on the wall caught my attention and I pouted.

8:56pm

It’s been 3 hours since Daniel dragged me back into the room and locked me here. He even assigned three warriors on my door to prevent me from leaving and I’m stuck here doing nothing at all.

What does he mean I’m not going anywhere anyways? Please don’t tell me that my trip tomorrow will be cancelled too?! There's no way I’ll stay here anymore. Not after what happened today with that faked woman and her family!

Argh!

I can’t even reach out to Harris after what he did in the meeting too. I bet he’s regretting it now too, but how can I blame them?

That woman knows her cards...

Of course! Who will believe someone like me, right?!

"Lucas?" Al knocked on the door and I quickly sat up in delight.

Finally!

"It's open!" I shouted and the door opened a bit, exposing my friend Alexander or Al for short. This 16 years old and 5’5 feet tall boy came from a family of Warriors and the head Warrior, Frank, was his Father. At first glance, you wouldn’t be able to tell that he protects the pack as well because of his small build, but don’t belittle this guy. He can break your arm in a snap.

"Hey." I smiled as he entered the room and closed the door behind him. 

"What happened?" He asked, confused after he ruffled my hair and sat beside me on the bed. I immediately leaned on his shoulder as I pouted.

"I'm grounded." I faked a sob and he rolled his eyes.

"I know i***t, what I mean is why? What's the reason?” I looked up to meet his worried grey eyes. “Is it because of what you did to that girl?”

"Umm...no?” He raised his brow at me. “Well because I was so mad at Daniel that I tried to say the magic words to free myself from him?" He gasped suddenly like a drama queen he is.

"Oh my! What?!" He started to hysterical and I watched him make some weird, shock, confused faces and it’s funny to watch. "So what happened? Did you succeed?"

"Sadly no." I frowned when I remembered my failed attempt. “Daniel covered my mouth before I could finish, and all of the sudden I'm grounded. Surprised!” I pulled away a bit to spread my arms on the air and Al rolled his eyes at me, again.

I hope he get dizzy from doing that.

"Yawch, so what now? Seems like the monster wouldn't let you leave this room anymore-"

"What?!” I interrupted him and he glared at me for being too loud. “Is he planning to hide me here forever?!" 

"Don't exaggerate Lucas." He chuckled at me and I didn't find that funny at all. "So what now?" He asked in amusement.

I leaned closer to him for a hug and he let me. Slowly patting my back with his hands to comfort this poor 22 years old, cute male. Me.

“Do you know that I was supposed to leave tomorrow and stay at the Blue Flames Pack for awhile?” I asked as I looked up at him and his eyes widened.

“What?”

"I told the Alpha that I cannot stay here because my wolf is uncomfortable with the presence of that woman. Even the monster agreed to that, then suddenly changed his mind a while ago after he defended his woman in front of me." His brows furrowed to what I just said. “It seems like he wants me to suffer more…” He couldn't seem to form a word and I waited for about a minute till he reacted.

"Be honest with me Lucas. Did that b***h warn you to leave?" He growled and I quickly shook my head.

"No, I decided on my own, but his father warned me as well about her. He said that I better go than being thrown out." Al’s eyes immediately darken. “It seems like she’s planning something for that to happen…” 

"What?!" He was so mad and I pouted to play my part as a poor, pathetic protagonist. "That freaking son of a bi-" I covered his mouth before he could finish.

"Calm down baby…”

"Mn ghmn kmng hmnr." He glared and I pulled my hand away from his mouth so I could hear him well. "I'm gonna kill her." He repeated more clearly so I could understand. I swallowed hard when his voice changed. "You won't leave," He glared at me. "She will."

"Wow..." I clapped my hands amazed at how he just said that. "Still the plans might change and my transfer tomorrow is probably cancelled. So I was thinking that maybe running away is not a bad idea?"

"Are you stupid?" He asked, seriously and I nodded. "Really?" He confirmed and I rolled my eyes.

"Really." I smiled and he frowned. "I think this is also my chance to free myself from this situation and from that selfish man." I sighed in relief. "Don't you think so too?" I asked and he looked away.

"You'll still be an outcast or maybe they'll count you as a traitor!"

"Don't exaggerate bitch." I glared at him and he frowned.

"There's a possibility bitch." He informed me and I just shrugged.

"I already decided to run away, if Daniel tries to lock me in here." My tone went low when I said the last word.

"What?" His eyes widened. "You can't-"

"Alex you need to get out of there." Jake's voice echoed from the other side of the door, calling his younger brother out and I frowned.

Now that I remembered it I wasn't allowed to talk to anyone as well.

"Argh okay!" Al shouted as he stood up. "This talk is not over yet and don’t do anything stupid." He glared at me as he rudely pointed his finger on my face.

"That's rude!" I frowned and he smirked before leaving the room. 

Now I'm alone again.  pouted at the empty room when the door suddenly opens up. Jake's head popped out with a sweet smile on his face. 

"I know you're sad so here," Jake threw his phone on me and I gasped. I almost didn't catch it! 

"The Beta called a while ago asking for you since you're not picking up your phone-"

"It was confiscated." I pouted and he nodded.

"Call the Beta, he's waiting." Then he closed the door.

My heart beats faster than normal and Zicky was the reason for it since it’s been awhile since we last talked.

I might be mated to Daniel but Zicky was my first love and that won't change. Sadly, I need to let him go too...

I smiled sadly…

Oh how I miss him so badly. I smiled as I dialed his number and waited for a second before it connected.

"Hello?" His deep voice echoed in the room and my eyes watered up a bit. 

"Zicky..." I sounded so pathetic and he chuckled.

"L what's wrong? I heard you're grounded?" He asked worriedly and I sighed annoyed.

"Yeah, it's because of the monster...." He chuckled to the sound of my voice and I pouted. "Don't laugh I'm so mad right now."

"Sorry, sorry." He apologized while still laughing and I frowned.

"Anyway, when are you going back?" I asked, hoping that I’ll still have enough time to prepare myself to let this awesome man go.

"It might take another month." He frowned. "I'm sorry but I may not be there to celebrate your birthday and even our anniversary." I whined from that.

It might be our last celebration too..

My birthday and his and even our anniversary were both on October 18. Talk about fate and everything… He confessed to me as soon as I turned 16. He was like the greatest gift I've ever received in my entire life!

"Its fine!" I tried to cheer him up but it didn't work I guess. "Love you..." I reminded him and he chuckled.

"I love you too L, don't worry I'll try my best to get back early." I nodded at that. "And I also have a surprise for you~" My eyes widened.

"What is it?!" I asked excitedly and he chuckled.

"It's a surprise L, you'll know once I get back there. You'll gonna love it so hard that you'll voluntarily let me lick you all over." I frowned at that, trying not to show how my lower half reacted a bit.

"No, I won't let you Zicky." I stubbornly said before giggling at him like a little girl.

"Yes, you will." He chuckled and I did also. "I bet my tongue is enough for you to tremble all night." I furrowed my brows as I grabbed my front, trying to calm it down.

“Not now, there are guards outside my room…” He chuckled on how I whispered that.

“Not bad.” I rolled my eyes before I laid down on the bed.

I bet I’m the only one who knows this side of our Beta. He looks so calm and friendly to other people. Zicky is actually a huge guy with a big heart, but his s*x drive was… well you know…

“I missed you so much L.” He said and I smiled.

But I love everything about him.

“I missed you more.” I closed my eyes as I breathed in. “I hope you are here, it's getting harder….” He wasn’t able to answer immediately, because we’ve been trying to figure out what to do since we learned that we are not mates.

The ex-Alpha did not allow Zicky to mark me until his son, Daniel, found a new partner first. Marking another person might cause your mate too much pressure and stress which sometimes causes death to other wolves. Zicky and I might be punished so we need to wait first since Daniel is an important person to the Pack.

But how about me? If Daniel marked that girl, I might die. Daniel is obviously stronger than me. He is an Alpha male while I was labeled an Omega…

Only Zicky cares about me. Even after he found his Mate, he still chose me over her.

I’m happy and thankful for everything he did, but I don’t want for his Mate to suffer because of me.

“Zicky you know that I love you, right?” I asked and he let out an awkward chuckle before answering.

“And that I loved you more than you do, right?” He threw back the question and I smiled sadly.

The door opened up for the unexpected visitor but I ignored it while keeping my eyes close while laying on the bed.

“Thank you.” I forced a giggle before faking a yawn when I felt a certain person murder me with his sharp glares. “I’m sleepy, I better go.” 

“Okay, I’ll call back again once I’m free. Sleep tight L.”

“And take care, Bye.”

“Bye, I love you.” 

“I love you more.”

I hung up and finally opened my eyes to look at my Mate, clenching his fist in anger.

I pushed myself up and sat on the edge of the bed as I gripped the phone on my chest.

Here we go again. 

DANIEL

“What?” Liam asked in annoyance while I kept my face dead serious.

“Lucas is grounded. He will not leave tomorrow.” I repeated and he scratched the back of his head in annoyance.

“I hope you know that is not how it goes, Daniel.” He frowned at me. “The both packs agreed. Mr. Goldsmith was excited for tomorrow as well, you know how much that man adores your Mate.”

My brows furrowed at him. The Alpha of the Blue Flames Pack, for some reason, enjoys Lucas’s company the most. Everytime he comes to visit, he will always come looking for Lucas to serve him. So I wouldn’t be surprised for him to react like that, still-

“I’ve changed my mind. Just apologize.” I simply said and he stared at me in disbelief. 

“Why don’t you go instead?” He asked and I waved my hands off of him, before walking towards the door. “Daniel.” He called out. “It’s not safe for Lucas to stay here together with that woman. If you don’t want to lose him that way again." My chest clenched from that, still I ignored his advice. Acting as if it wouldn't affect me just like it did before. 

"Let Lucas decide, I'll only accept this if he'll be the one to tell me. " I frowned as I looked back at Liam. "Tell him I'll wait until tonight. " He smirked, trying to annoy me more. 

"Yes Alpha. " I said as I raised my middle finger at him and he rolled his eyes at me. 

"f**k off, Daniel. " 

I snorted and left his office. 

Dammit. 

I glared as I pocket my hands. I’ll just drag Lucas in his office tomorrow and make him say it. He will surely go against me, but I’ll find a way so he wouldn’t leave.

All of the sudden, I remembered how desperately he tried to cut the connection and my chest clenched. 

What makes him do that? Is he trying to get away from me immediately? Will he seriously consider that brat’s offer?

My chest clenched more and I stopped on my track.

‘Why? Scared of being replaced with a better Alpha male again, Daniel?’ 

Nope.

But I’m scared of losing you for real...

I clenched my fist on how honest my words came out.

Should I tell him that? If I tell him that, will he choose me this time?

There’s only one way to find out.

I turned on my heels and made my way towards his room where I locked him in. I even ordered the guard to keep him still, because seeing how desperate he tried to push me away he might do something even more dangerous.

“Zicky you know that I love you, right?” My ears perked up from the sound of Lucas’s voice from afar.

“And that I loved you more than you do, right?” 

My eyes widened from that and I immediately stormed to his room. The guards’ eyes widened at me in fear when they saw me coming, and immediately made a way to let me in.

Lucas came to view and even though he sensed me coming in, he did not bother to move from his position. He was laying on the bed with his eyes closed while holding an unfamiliar phone.

“Thank you.” I glared when he giggled before yawning. “I’m sleepy, I better go.” 

“Okay, I’ll call back again once I’m free. Sleep tight L.”

“And take care, Bye.”

“Bye, I love you.” 

“I love you more.” 

My eyes twitched from that and I breathed out to lessen my jealousy sine Lucas is doing it on purpose to make me mad.

And I can’t get mad now, but-

I gritted my teeth in anger. Lucas finally sat up on the edge of the bed and held the phone protectively.

"How come you've got a phone with you?" 

"Robin sent me a gift."

"Lucas!" He jumped from my voice. Fear was written all over his face before he looked away.

"Zicky called.” His answer was firm even though he knows how much I hated hearing that man’s name from him. “He missed me so he called and I missed him too that’s why I answered.” I can feel my face turning red and I clenched fist more. 

Lucas, do you-

“Do you really want me to die?” My eyes widened in surprise from that.

That question made him emotional as well as I watched his eyes watered up.

“That’s why you’ll lock me here? Do you hate me that much?” He asked more with his eyes burning up a bit. “Maybe you regretted that I woke up that day and now you are trying to get me out of the picture-“

“I am not.” I interrupted him and he shook his head at me.

“Then why did you stop me from cutting it off? This time maybe it’ll work! This is what you want, isn’t?”

My eyes twitched a bit.

"Why did you stop me? Because I can’t understand you anymore-“

"You're my mate." That suddenly came out, but I’m not taking it back anymore. “You are mine.”

“What are you saying?” He asked as I stepped closer to him. He stiffened when I capped his face between my hands, gently. His red eyes were flooded with tears as he looked at me, confused.

“Lucas…” I called out. “I made a decision and I’m done watching people continue to take you away from me.”

He gulped as I leaned closer.

“Not this time and not anymore.” 

“W-wait-“ I interrupted him with a kiss and his whole body stiffened from the light touch and I loved how he surrendered after.

I should have done this before, but it’s not yet too late, isn’t it?

Right?
