CHOOSE ME (BXB)

CHAPTER 5

"If only I knew that a simple slap would bring me here, I should have done it more than once until her cheeks were as swollen as my eyes right now.

They were all staring at me as I cried my eyes out in silence. Randomly raising my hands to shed the tears away from time to time, while I kept my head low. I can't stop sobbing and whimpering as I stare at my shaking hands too.

I do not regret what I did, actually she deserves more than that but I don’t want to be in jail…

"Look Lucas just explain why you did it?" The Luna held my hand while staring at me, worriedly. I looked at him before looking around the meeting room.

That human girl’s parents, Mr. and Mrs. Amell were both sitting next to each other on my left side. Daniel and his b***h sit on my right side, while the Alpha sits on the other end of the table. All of them were staring at me on the other end of the table with Harris on my side. 

The rest kept their distance from me as if I’ll hurt them too. 

And what’s even worse is that Daniel stayed with her, protecting her from me.

"Whatever his reason is, it is not enough for him to hurt our daughter!" Mr. Amell slammed his fist on the table and I jumped before looking at him with wide eyes. "We are filing a case no matter what you say." He glared at me and I moved closer to Harris who immediately wrapped his arms around me.

"Please wait, let's talk about this." The Alpha said frowning. Mr. Amell opened his mouth to speak but the Alpha shut him up with a glare. 

That’s the Alpha for you. I'm just hoping he’s on my side though…

"I want to know the reason why Lucas. If your reason is acceptable then I'll fight for you, but if it's senseless then there's nothing I could do." He told me and I stared at him in the most pathetic way.

"S-she said..." I sobbed. "She called the pups animals." His eyes quickly widened before it stormed to the girl who shrieked under his stares.

"Is that true?" Daniel asked her as he moved away, a little surprise as well.

"I would never say that." She once again fake her tears. "I don't know why he hates me." She sobbed as she looked at me. "I'm sorry I know you don't like me because Daniel chose me over you," My eyes widened at that. 

What the hell are you talking about?! 

"But please don't make stories like that. In the future I'll carry Daniel's child, why would I call them animals when I'll have the same pups inside me?" She was crying the whole time and I'm raging with anger.

She's turning the blame on me.

And her acting looks so real too-

"I couldn't believe this Lucas." The Alpha sighed and I furrowed my brows at him in disbelief.

Don't tell me he believed that! I stood up and pointed my finger to this f*****g b***h.

"She's lying! Why can't you see that?! She did call them animals, what else would be the reason I’ll slap her?!"

“Because you are jealous?” Mrs. Amell, am I talking to you? I glared at her and she raised her fake brow at her. She looks really innocent even at her late 40s. Now I know where the little girl gets her ugly character too.

"Enough Lucas." The Alpha sighed as he leaned on his chair, massaging his temples.

"I'm not lying though.” I told him and he raised his brow at my rude tone. “Ask the pups they'll tell you the truth-"

"Shut it Lucas." Daniel growled and I stiffened at him. "Don't involve the kids here. Clarissa won't say those things." He stared at me in disbelief and I clenched my fist. "I couldn't believe your jealousy would come this far Lucas."

Argh! Why don't they believe me?! And who's jealous?! I'm not jealous!

"Har-har-"

"Lucas..." Harris touched my hands as he stared at me with those eyes as well. Him also, he doesn't believe me...

No one believes me.

I bit my lower lip as I sat down annoyed to myself. My head was down while I gritted my teeth. I'm so mad with everyone right now.

"Lucas-“

"I'm not lying. You should all know that I won't do such a thing." I mumbled so that only Harris, Daniel and the Alpha could hear but no one said a thing and I cried more, silently.

Dammit…

My teas continued dropping and I just wanted to disappear. Who cares about jail now? I bet it’s better there than being here. 

"Mr. and Mrs. Amell, I apologize for what my friend has done to your daughter." The Alpha said referring to me as his 'friend' when he doesn't even believe in me. 

He should be the first one to believe me, since he also knows what this b***h real rotten side is.

"I know my apologies aren't enough to suit your anger, but please don't file a case against Lucas. I beg you-" I gasped when the Alpha was about to bow his head to these humans. He looked at me confused.

I don’t want my Alpha to disgrace himself for me. Never.

"Ahh..." I opened my mouth to talk to stop him but nothing came out. They all looked at me. "I-I'm sorry that I hurt your daughter," But she deserved it though. I looked at the b***h and bowed my head. "I'm sorry Lady Clarissa."

"It’s fine." The b***h said so sweet that I wanted to slam her head on the table. "Father please don't file a case against Lucas...please." She begged to her Father and he sighed.

I feel like I’m watching a drama from looking at this family.

"As if I'll say no to you," He frowned to himself before looking at me. 

I fixed myself under his cold stares. He stared directly into my red eyes, my face, every part of my body until he reached down below. 

It’s very uncomfortable. I still can’t get used to these even if I'm always receiving weird stares everyday of my life, but I can't blame them though. There's no species in this world who can resist my sexiness...well except for Daniel of course. 

He's an alien.  

"I want us to talk privately." Mr. Amell told the Alpha. We went quiet for a second from the sudden request of this human who was just shouting at me a moment ago.

Alpha Liam raised a brow before looking at Daniel who's openly glaring at his girlfriend’s father.

"If it’s fine with Lucas then why not." The Alpha stared at me as if he's telling me something and my lips formed a thin line.

"Is it okay Lucas?" Mr. Amell asked me and I quickly nodded. 

The Alpha frowned out loud and I glanced at him, worriedly.

Was I supposed to say no? 

Mr. Amell nodded pleased to my answer before looking around the room, waiting for everyone to leave.

"Then we will be outside." The Alpha stood up and Harris also without saying a thing.

I'm sulking at him for not trusting me like the others... I mean I'm his friend! When did I lie to him?

"Mother." The b***h called for her mom as they stood up and left but Daniel stayed on his seat. I looked at him and found him staring coldly at Mr. Amell.

"Is there a problem?" Mr. Amell asked, confused by Daniel. 

I immediately looked away from him when he was about to look at me. 

'I'll be waiting outside, call me if something happens.' He connected his mind to mine before he stood up and left the room. 

Now he’s worried?

I don’t need it by the way- I’m so done with you and your stupid moodswing.

I stared back at Mr. Amell and found him smiling at me.

"So Lucas." He leaned closer to me and I moved back a bit which he found funny. 

I raised a brow at him as he laughed.

“Come closer, I don’t bite.” He smirked and even if I didn't want to, I decided to just do what he said.

Mr. Amell's age runs around late 40 or early 50s, I guess. With a white hair pulled back to his head and a mustache as well. He's also a bit rounded but tall in the height of 5’8. 

"Yes?" I finally asked after a minute of silence with him just staring at me like a broken robot.

"Please don't cry anymore. I was lying when I said I'm going to file a case since my daughter told me so." He said and my eyes widened a little.

That freaking b***h.

"You shouldn't spoil her like that." His eyes widened at me before laughing so loud. 

This guy seems to be out of his mind.

"I'm sorry, it was too late when we realized we've grown a monster." He sighed, still laughing a little. "I'm sorry for what my daughter did."

"I-it's fine...I'm sorry too for slapping her." He shook his head.

"No, I should be thanking you for that." He smiled before reaching out to pat my head. "If she do something stupid again just teach her a lesson but don't get too far okay." He laughed as he ruffled my head.

I can only stare at him awkwardly, and don't know what to do at all. 

“Lucas, can I ask you one thing?” He asked, his hand slowly trailing down to my cheek. He cupped my face to fix it a bit under his malicious stares.

He’s creeping me out already, but if I called for help he might change his mind and throw me to jail too!

“Is the color of your eyes natural?” I furrowed my brows from that as he studied it a bit with so much interest.

“T-They’re real…” I hesitated, but said the truth anyways. His eyes immediately brighten up from my answer. “Can you please let go-“

“This is amazing…” My eyes widened when he went closer and I immediately pushed him away from me. I moved away from him towards the corner of the room and he smirked at my reaction.

What are his problems?!

‘Lucas?’ Daniel suddenly called out and I looked at the door. ‘Is everything all right?’ I gulped before looking back at the old man.

Is Daniel listening? Maybe not since he asked me. If he heard him, I bet he already opened the door.

‘I’m fine.’ I lied, keeping my eyes on the old man.

Something in his eyes tells me he knows that I’m talking to someone thru telepathy. It’s really scary how this family knows so much about werewolves too…

“I’m sorry if I made you feel uncomfortable.” He said as he pushed himself up. My body moved on it’s own and fixed itself on the corner away from him. “You have a very interesting pair of eyes.” I glared at him. “How much is it?” 

What? What does he mean? I stared at him as if he had grown another head and he smirked on my face.

“I don’t understand.” I said and he shook his head with a creepy chuckle.

“Nevermind, I was just kidding.”

You are a mean human being. I glared at him as he fixed his suit a bit, preparing to leave.

“I am done here, but please be mindful of my daughter. She’s quite a lady.” I rolled my eyes at him. “I would appreciate it as well if you stay away from Clarissa and her future husband.”

My chest clenched and I looked away from him.

“As you can see, they need each other. You don’t have a place here.”

I know. Why does everyone need to tell me that? I’m leaving tomorrow anyways.

“If you need a place out of here, I could help you with that. I don't want my daughter going any further than this too.” I looked back at him. “It’ll be best for you to leave rather than being thrown out, don't you think?”

“What do you mean-“ 

“Here’s my calling card.” He pulled out a card from the pocket inside his suit and placed it on the table. “Call me if you made up your mind and leave the couple alone.”

Why does it sound like I’m the antagonist here?

“Thank you for your time, Lucas.” He smiled at me before finally leaving the room.

My fists were shaking in anger from his words. I hate them so much.

All of them.

My eyes watered up and I leaned on the corner as I shed my tears with the back of my hand.

I was still hesitating to leave tomorrow, but this scenario finally made up my mind.

I’m leaving, but before that.

“Hey.” Daniel walked in and I glared at him.

I need to give this heartless Mate of mine a piece of my mind.

"Why are you crying? Why are you there?" He asked and I looked away. "What did he tell you?"

"It's nothing..." I answered him without looking and that action was a real bad mistake. 

A loud gasp escaped my lips when he stormed towards me. He grabbed my both wrists and tightened his hold around it, making me flinch in pain.

"Don't make me repeat the same question twice, Lucas." He glared dangerously at me and I stared at him coldly. "Now answer me. What did he say?” Why does his disgusting scent stick on your skin?” He gritted his teeth at me and I remained unfazed.

I’m so done with you. After you side that girl in front of me? Accusing me of being a liar just because I’m jealous? And only the Alpha tried to help me not to get in jail, you did not say anything at all…

So why do you care now?

My eyes watered up again and his eyes melted after seeing how hurt I am right now.

“Lucas…” His grip slowly loosen around my wrist as I sobbed. “What happened?”

What happened?! I hate you, that's what happened!

I bit my lower lip as my eyes fell on the floor. 

“Lucas, look at me.” He tried, but I remained stubborn.

I wanted to get back at you and that woman. But me leaving would not even bother you so what can I do?

If I die again would you care just like that night? I slowly looked up to meet his mismatched eyes and he shows relief for some reason, but-

"I...I wanted to end this..." I finally spoke and he raised a brow in confusion.

"What?" He asked as if he didn't know what I meant. I glared at him. 

Maybe he's having fun seeing me like this, but I won't spoil him anymore. I stared straight into his eyes as I took a deep breath.

I'll end this now. I have to end this now or I’ll suffer more.

“What’s wrong?”

"I, Lucas," His eyes immediately widened when he finally realized what I'm gonna do. "Rejects you, Daniel Cromwell as-" A hand roughly covered my mouth and I gasped when my back suddenly hit the wall. "Mhy mhyt." I continued but it didn't come out clearly. His eyes were wide at me and fear was very vivid from it. 

Dammit…

I started sobbing for my failed attempt to end everything. We did this before, it just didn’t work so why did you stop me...

Just when I finally pulled some courage it ended up like this…

I pushed him away from his chest, but the unmerciful man kept his hand on my wrist and on my mouth to stop me from doing anything he didn't like.

‘Let go of me.’ I glared at him and he stared at me in disbelief on how serious I was. ‘Let’s do this just like before. You want this as well, don’t you?!’

“Calm down-“

‘I hate you.’ I interrupted him and he stiffened from my words. I’m glad that it affected him. Really, really glad. ‘I’m done with you- I’ll find myself a better mate! Once I leave this place, I would make sure you’ll regret me. You will never see me again, until there’s mark on my neck, I’m telling you-‘

“Stop-“

‘Or I might as well accept Rexy’s offer too.’ He gripped my wrist and I closed my eyes a bit in pain, before glaring back at him. ‘Why? Scared of being replaced with a better Alpha male, Daniel?’ 

My eyes widened from my own words and my face fell in guilt when I unpurposely reminded him of his bad past. 

"Lucas." He growled my name and I stiffened. 

His face was filled with anger and pain. And I know right there that I went too far.

‘I-I didn't mean it-‘

“So that was your plan all along.” He clicked his tongue in disbelief as he pushed me hard against the wall, and I grabbed his clothes near his chest to stop him. Feeling the fear corrupting me from the inside.

He won’t hurt me, right?

“Lucas, I changed my mind.” He said, his face getting closer to me and I gulped in fear. “You are not going anywhere.”

My eyes widened at him.

No. I’m leaving you!

I pushed him away much harder this time and he finally stumbled back. I took that chance to escape, but it was useless for Daniel. He immediately grabbed my wrist and placed me back against the wall, trapping me with his body and I stared at him in fear. His eyes were always cold, but this time it was much worse.

“What do you mean… W-We talked about this, didn’t we?” He didn’t answer and my chest clenched as he leaned down closer to my neck.

“Lucas,” His voice changed with a stronger tone which I hate the most. It always makes me feel weak and I closed my eyes in defeat. “You are grounded.”

And I just hate you the most.
