CHAPTER 4

"I am sorry." I apologized while standing in front of Harris in my room. He's sitting on my bed with his arms crossed on his chest. A deep frown was covering his face so I stayed against the wall, one meter away from him. 

His mood is in the dangerous zone right now. I tried to make a joke out of it by calling him Har-har again, but he just hated that nickname as badly as my decision of leaving the Pack.

I already prepared my things for my trip tomorrow morning with the Alpha to the Blue Flames Pack. All prepared. Although I´m still in the middle of hesitation and excitement, while the Luna sulks in my room. Trying to stop me from leaving.

"No." Harris stubbornly said as if I´ll change my mind.

After Daniel showed me that my disappearance won't bother him at all, to hell I will back down now.

I´m a man too! A strong, independent and full fledged gay! 

Yes Lucas, so proud of you…

"Look, I really need to stay away from here..." I explained while playing with my fingers. "I couldn't bear to stay here anymore." 

That woman all over my Mate will be the death of me. I can't die young too!

"I know, I understand but..." Harris reached out to hold my hands while staring directly to my eyes. "Liam told me that 'that' guy is a very dangerous person." He said seriously and I almost nodded, while walking a bit closer to let him hold my hands.

I thought Rexy was nothing but a spoiled kid, but somehow his personality speaks more than what I heard. You see, the Blue Flames Pack had a very bad reputation before the current Alpha took place. Mr. Goldsmith was a kind man, but as I heard, the rest of his family and relatives were really evil.

I hope his only son did not inherit the bad side...

"Do you know about his harem?" He asked and I raised another brow.

"I do of course! The Alpha told me." I said, a bit too proud but... "What's a harem by the way?" I asked and his eyes widened in disbelief. My head tilted on the side after he didn’t answer.

“You really can't go. I'll talk to Liam.” He said seriously and I frowned at him.

“But-“

“No buts,” He suddenly stood up and pulled me for a tight hug on the neck. I frowned at my oh so worried friend again.

I love Harris, but he treats me like a kid when I am older than him. Like he’s only 20 while I’m 22? So why am I the baby here?

“Harris…” I trailed off while gently pulling his hands off my neck. He pulled back a bit. His grey eyes were stuck to mine, obviously showing his disapproval and worry, but- “I really need to.”

Daniel already made it clear to me. I might be his mate, but I'm not the one he wants. I´m just a hindrance to him and that woman…

´Would you stop me?´ 

His question flashed to my mind and my eyes fell on the ground. 

As if it’ll change a thing.

“Lucas…” I pouted at Harris and his face fell as well in sadness after seeing mine. "Are you really sure about this?" He asked once again and I nodded. “I'll miss you so much though. You know that you are the only friend I have left in this place.”

"You can visit me."

"As if Liam would let me." He frowned. "But remember if that guy makes a move on you or just tries to lure you with his sweet words, tell me immediately, and you're out of there." He said sternly and I chuckled.

"I'm like 22 years old and Rexy was like 17-"

"And an Alpha male at that." He reminded me and I chuckled.

"He's like a younger brother to me and I will only stay there until I find my new Mate." I said as my eyes saw the wall red mickey mouse clock on the wall.

2:35pm

"But still-"

"Damn I forgot the puppies!" I face-palmed my face and Harris stared at me with wide eyes as well. “I need to go!” I shouted and Harris nodded at me before I stormed out of the room.

It's time for their afternoon nap! I hope the Alpha wasn't there with them or I'll be dead. I thought as I sprinted up in the hallways to reach the garden.

"No running dear!" Mrs. Madison reminds me when I run past her.

"I'm sorry!" I shouted back as I continued to run. The familiar hallway suddenly reminded me of something and my chest clenched from the memories.

'Little Lucas!' 

I smiled when I visualized the image of a younger me and Danny running away from the kitchen after sneaking out some chocolates. The laughters were loud and lively. Our huge smiles were nearly tearing our faces. 

Oh how I missed those days…

How I missed the old him too.

'Danny! Danny, wait!' The little me would always follow him everywhere and so he made a hobbit of bringing me as well. I lost count on how many times I got in trouble because of him and Hhans.

Now that I think of it. 

When did everything start to change?

I stopped running and decided to walk so I can focus on my thoughts. 

The smile on Danny's face was always directed to me in my memories. How come it became hers? My chest clenched.

It changes when… 

'L? ' Zicky's voice flashed to my mind and Danny's smile fell immediately.

Oh...

My eyes widened a bit as I stopped on my track. I looked up at the back door in annoyance when I sensed that woman's smell from it. 

Argh! 

She's freaking here! I clenched my fist before sighing. 

Act nice Lucas... Act nice.

I told myself, already forgotten the thoughts I was having a moment ago. 

"Good afternoon Lady Clarissa." I greeted her as I walked closer towards her.

She was sitting on the ground wearing a pinkish dress with her black hair tied up into a high pony. Hannah's white wolf was sleeping on her lap and the others slept around her. She looked up at me and smiled innocently hiding her bitchiness inside.

"Good afternoon Lucas." She greeted back and I almost frowned at her fake sweet voice. "Seems like you're late for the puppies' nap." She said as she patted Hannah's head. "Irresponsible." Her voice changed back to her normal one and I rolled my eyes.

There she goes. 

"I have my reasons." I simply said. "I'll take care of them from here so please leave." Her eyes shoot up towards me.

"What?" She asked in disbelief. Hannah recognized her angry tone and quickly moved away from her and so the others too.

"Come here guys." I called them and they quickly ran towards me while staring in fear at this outsider.

"Aww now they hate me." She chuckled before standing up. "I tried to be nice." She said staring at the puppies with those annoying eyes. "I couldn't believe that I have to be kind and loving around these animals." She sighed and I glared at her.

"They're not animals." I took a step forward protecting the puppies. "They're kids." She raised a brow at me before smiling innocently.

"Oh I'm sorry." She apologized sarcastically and I glared more. "I thought I'll bear an animal someday inside my womb," She chuckled to herself and I clenched my fist.

What?

"That would be very disgusting." 

Before I knew it my hand collided to her face so hard that she stumbled down. She whined in pain as she stared at me with wide eyes from the ground.

I'm so angry right now. She's not yet pregnant but she's already insulting Daniel's future puppies!

“You are as disgusting as a poop.” I growled and she rolled her eyes at me.

'Lucas.' John called out while sticking close to his sister Mimy.

"Don't listen to her." I glared daggers at her. "This human is nothing but a b***h who wants the throne but she failed in seducing Alpha Liam when he was like err 16!" I blurted out and her eyes widened. "Do you think I don't know? And now you're clinging to Daniel as if you're a fragile little innocent girl while the truth is you're a nothing but b***h dying to get laid."

'Lucas calm down!' Ally's red wolf with white socks bit the hem of my jeans as I took another step forward.

"You are the animal here!"

"Lucas!" I stiffened when I heard Daniel's angry voice. I quickly turned to look at him and I swallowed hard when I saw how red his face was. "What do you think you're doing?!" He asked, staring worriedly at his little b***h.

"H-he suddenly slapped me..." She was in tears and I rolled my eyes. 

She's not a saint and she's not what you think she's an actress! I almost sang Taylor Swift's song…

It suits her well..

"What?!" Daniel glared at me again and I stiffened. "Explain this before I beat the s**t out of you." I took a step back when he pointed at my face rudely. 

He's so mad right now.

I couldn't even form a word even when I tried to open my mouth.

Daniel’s mismatched eyes were staring at me as if he’ll rip my head and my chest were beating to lou in fear.

"She started it!" Finally! I shouted as I pointed at her. Daniel ignored me and gave her a hand.

"Are you okay?" He asked her, not listening to me at all and I rolled my eyes.

"I-I'm okay...don't get mad at him. It's my fault for saying something that offended him..." She looked at me with those teary eyes and I growled, causing Daniel to step back with the girl on his back. "I'm sorry Lucas." 

My hands are getting itchy. I really want to choke her to death.

"What did you tell him?" Daniel asked while glancing towards her swollen cheek that I slapped.

"I said that in the future, I'll be carrying your child and that I couldn’t wait for it." She lied.

"That's all?"

"Maybe something along those lines hurt him… I was being too insensitive. "

Huh? 

"Liar!" I screamed while glaring at her. Daniel hid her behind him again as my urge to kill her became stronger and he sensed it.

How dare you put the blame on me?! I clenched my fist as I prepared to attack.

"Lucas calm down!" Daniel said worriedly for his f*****g b***h. "Let's talk about this. If you attack, I might hurt you so stop here." He spread his palm on me, signing me to stop as he protected her.

You’ll hurt me? Not a surprise…

"You are the worst!" I pointed at her face and she hid like a kid on Daniel's back. "Let's go." I decided to let it go and just walk away with the puppies following me. I want to freaking chop chop her like argh! 

'Why didn't you tell him what she said!' Mimy asked as she wagged her tail in an annoyed way. 'I hate her, she's so mean!' She added and I nodded in agreement.

"Don't get close to the b***h she might hurt you okay?" They all said 'yes' and I sighed in relief. "If she ever does anything to you guys or even says mean things, tell me immediately and I'll cut her d**k off." They chuckled at me.

'She's a girl.' Hannah corrected me and I rolled my eyes.

"It's just an expression duh." She chuckled at me. We reached 'Pup's room' on the first floor where they all slept together. There's a lot of small double decked beds inside even though we only have six puppies in total.

The oldest is Hannah; she's eight years old. She’s the Head Warrior’s, Frank, only daughter and sister of Al and Jake; Allen, seven years old, only son of Lillian the cook. There goes Zhick also seven years old, his parents died in a rogues attack in his old pack so the ex-Alpha's adopted him due to his kindness and handsomeness, his words not mine. Next is Ally, four years old and Zicky's niece. Her parents are always out of the country so she was left here. And the last but not the least John and Mimy, seven and three years old, Mr. Carter's adopted children. 

Carter is like my father too since he's the one in charge of me since I was young so they're like my younger sister and brother. 

"Sleep tight and dream about teen titans!" Josh hushed me off and I pouted as I closed the door. I hope they grow up nice…

The fake smile on my face disappeared as soon as I left their room. My anger was still strong towards that woman. She gets on my nerves and I wouldn't be surprised if she'll be my first kill. 

How dare she call the kids animals? She doesn't have any rights at all. 

She's nothing but an ignorant human-

"Lucas!" Al came running towards me with a weird expression on his face and I raised a brow. "What have you done?!" He shouted at me annoyed and I tilted my head on the side. 

"I tacked the pups for their nap?" I answered, confused and he frowned.

"No! You slapped that b***h and now her parents know and want to file a case against you!" He said and my jaw dropped.

"What?" I gasped and Al cupped my face between his sweaty hands like eww-

"You'll be in jail stupid!"
