Episode 1
Monica was feeling overwhelmed. She had just moved to a new town and was trying to find her way around. She had been walking for what felt like hours when she finally decided to take a break.
As she stopped to catch her breath, she heard someone calling out to her. Turning around, she saw a tall, handsome stranger standing a few steps away. He was dressed in a crisp navy suit and had a kind smile on his face.
Monica quickly looked away, feeling embarrassed. She had been so busy trying to find her way around that she hadn't noticed the stranger. She was about to apologize when the stranger spoke.
"Hey, are you new in town? I'm sorry, I didn't mean to startle you. I just noticed that you looked
a bit lost," he said.
Monica nodded. She was still feeling a bit embarrassed, but the stranger's friendly attitude made her feel more comfortable.
"Yes, I just moved here. I'm trying to find my new home," she said.
The stranger smiled. "Well, you're in luck. I happen to be a real estate agent. I'd be more than happy to help you find the perfect place," he said.
Monica was pleasantly surprised. She thanked the stranger and they exchanged contact information. After a few minutes of friendly conversation, the stranger offered to help Monica carry her belongings to her new home.
"Here you go," he said as he helped her drop her belongings in front of her door. Standing upright, he turned to smile at her, "I hope you have a wonderful stay in this town. Pearl Town welcomes you with an open arm. The town and its people are so happy to have you" he grinned as he shook her hand.
Monica felt grateful for his speech as she nodded. She wanted to invite him inside for a snack or a drink but now didn't look like the perfect time.
"How about we drink or hang out together, some other time? I am new here as you know and I have no friends, she suggested her grin widening.
"Oh. I would love to but I am not sure I can. I can't be your friend. I am only here to help you with your belongings" he said as he smiled.
Monica searched into his deep blue eyes. His expressions were unreadable. She immediately got confused. How could someone out rightly refuse friendship?
"Is something wrong? Did I do something?" She asked softly. Her hands intertwined together.
"No dear. It has nothing to do with you" his voice stern and rigid. "In this town, things are different from where you come from. You will soon understand" he smiled as he turned his back and walked away. His back slowly disappeared into the crowd.
Monica stood there shocked. "Well…that was rude," she said to herself. Her brain was still processing his behaviour. Never had she seen a handsome rude man.
"With all that sexiness, his manners are poor," she hissed. She tried to recall what he had earlier said. "Is this how they all behave here?" She looked down at her luggage. "He didn't even help me take them inside or help me set up" she wrinkled her eyebrows as she stood there looking at her belongings.
Her mind was already exhausted from the trip to Pearl Town.

Monica was exhausted. She had just finished furnishing her new home and was ready to collapse. She decided to take a break and let herself rest on the kitchen counter.
She looked around and admired her handiwork. She had done a great job transforming her empty apartment into a cozy home.
She thought about what she needed to do next: get groceries. It had been a while since she had gone grocery shopping. She got up from the counter and headed to the mall. She was looking forward to stocking up on all the essentials.
Monica got off the bus and made her way to the mall. She had a grocery list in her hand and was determined to get all of her items before the store closed. As she walked through the mall, she felt like eyes were upon her.
People were staring at her and she felt uncomfortable. She tried to ignore them, but it was hard not to notice the strange looks they were giving her.
She wanted to get out of there as quickly as possible and so she walked faster, determined to finish her shopping. She quickly made her way through the aisles, grabbing the items from her list.
She was almost done when she heard someone whisper behind her.
"What is she doing here? She doesn't belong here."
Monica felt her face flush with embarrassment as she quickly grabbed the last few items off of her list. She rushed to the checkout, feeling the eyes of the people in the store bore into her back.
She was relieved when she was finally able to leave the mall and get on the bus to go home.
Monica felt uneasy as she stepped onto the bus. She had just moved to Pearl Town and it was barely up to a week. She was still getting used to the unfamiliar faces around her.
She could feel the stares of the passengers and felt embarrassed as she took her seat.
Suddenly, one of the passengers locked eyes with her and spoke up. “You don’t belong here.”
The words felt like a punch in the gut. Monica tried to ignore the comment and look away, but the feeling of unease lingered in the air. She had thought Pearl Town was a friendly place, but now she was starting to feel unwelcome.
The other passengers continued to stare at her, and she could feel her face flush with heat. She felt like an outcast like she was being judged and found wanting.
Finally, the bus pulled into the station and Monica hastily got off. She hurried away, her heart pounding in her chest. She felt like she was being watched, and she was sure that everyone knew she was an outsider.
As she walked away, Monica couldn’t help but wonder if something was wrong.
"I know it's a small town and all but does everyone in this know everyone?" She muttered as she placed her hands on her hips, " ….and why do people keep saying I don't belong here?" She huffed.
She walked for a few minutes as she noticed people constantly staring at her. It got creepy. She made her way to her door.
"Hey. You are new here, aren't you? " The stranger asked as Monica turned around to see the person's face. The stranger sounded like a male. She couldn't see his face under the black cap, face cap, and black vest he wore.
"Excuse me? Can I help you?" She turned to fully face him. Her face frowned. "Is something wrong? Are you following?" She asked.
The stranger tried to grab her arm. Monica jerked off in shock. He came closer and grabbed her arm again.
"What are you doing? Let go of me!!! Hey!!! Let me go!!" She tried to release herself from his grip.
That struggle lasted for about five minutes with people passing by and no one coming to her rescue. Monica couldn't believe her eyes. No one was coming to save her from an unknown man who was trying to grab her. Immediately, she kicked him.
As he fell to the ground, he stood up and said, "This town doesn't want you in it. Go back to where you came from or you might actually die", with that, the stranger turned his back to her face and scurried away, leaving Monica shocked and weak in the knees.
