Mr Grumpy's Assistant

Chapter 2: The Encounter

"Madam, I told you to slow down" Tony said to Estella. "Now look, we almost got killed" He stared at her with a frown. If this girl wasn't taught a lesson soon she would get herself killed.

"s**t" Estella cursed. "Let's go and check if they are okay" She got down from her car and approached the car she had just crashed into. As she approached the car, the back doors suddenly opened and two male figures got out of the car.

He was wearing a a black suit and Estella observed that he had beautiful features;blue eyes as deep as the ocean and a jet black hair with a stubble and sharp jawline as well as full lips and high cheekbones. He emitted a cold aura and had an icy gaze.

He glared at the woman who had just bumped into his car. His gaze made his driver and secretary shiver as they knew the anger behind that gaze.

He finally spoke and said "You just crashed into my car and it is going to be expensive to fix Miss"

"You could have killed us with your reckless driving but thank your stars that my brother and I are unharmed".

There was a moment of silence as Estella was contemplating on what to say. She sighed while staring at him and said " I'm really sorry about all this. I wasn't focusing. It's all my fault and I'll pay for damages for your car, I'm really sorry".

Xander scoffed "compensate me?" He laughed "And how do you intend to do that?" He asked as he looked at her with a blank and expressionless face. " You don't seem to be worth very much to me".

He left Estella astonished with this statement "Excuse me?" She asked as she stood unfazed and unbothered by the man gaze.

Andrew looked at the woman and muttered to him "She has no idea what she has gotten herself into, Xander won't spare her".

"Do you think I would go easy on you like that because you apologized ?" Xander asked as he stared to move closer towards her. He had encountered women like her who would try to get his attention through cheap tricks like this and he always ensured to teach them a lesson they wouldn't forget.

Estella's was dumbfounded by how arrogant this man was and she hated arrogant men like him. As he moved closer towards her, her brain was thinking about the best answer she could give and there was only one answer her brain could provide for dealing with arrogant men like him.

"WACK!!! "

She slapped his left cheek as hard as she could. His face moved with the impact. His eyes became bloodshot as he realized what had just happened. He turned his face towards Estella and glared at her.

Andrew was at Xander's back and his eyes almost popped out seeing Xander getting slapped. Freddie and Xander's driver gulped in fear as they knew their boss would spare this woman.

Xander couldn't believe what had just happened. He was seething with rage. "How dare you slap me? You have no idea who I am do you? He touch his cheek and glared at the woman in from of him. 'How dare she?' No one had ever dared to slap him. He would destroy her and watch her beg for mercy from him.

He was regarded as "The Handsome Devil" because of how ruthless he was. He didn't spare his enemies and forgiveness was not something in his dictionary.

Estella was starting to get angry. No one had ever dared to speak to her like that and especially not a man whom she had just met."Do you really think you can scare me with your glare?"

"I already said I was sorry about what happened to your car and whether or not I can afford it is none of your business. So stop overreacting and stop blowing things out of proportion. Got it? ".

'OMG' squealed Andrew inwardly. This was the first woman he had seen who was not scared of Xander nor was she trying to throw herself at him because he was handsome and rich.

Xander and Andrew were the most famous bachelors in Asteria but unlike Andrew who had dated countless women, Xander had no love life, even his personal life was rarely exposed. Many women had tried to gain the attention of Xander but had failed miserably as Xander had no interest in women.

Andrew muttered to him 'I'm sure we are going to be seeing very soon'. Knowing Xander, he wouldn't let this go.

Estella knitted her eyebrows seeing no reaction from Xander. He sniggered "You have messed with the wrong person" His gaze cutting deep into Estella's flesh.

Estella gulped as she was a little scared but she remained calm on the surface and held her chin up.

"I don't give a f**k about who you are. You have no right to speak to me like this so please, don't try to bring your identity into this".

"Also, as I have told you, I am ready to pay for the repairs of your car. Let's behave like adults and not blow things out of proportion.

"You've already done that" Xander said trying to intimidate the woman who did not flinch under his suffocating pressure.

Estella stood her ground and then answered "My driver will give you my card whatever the cost to fix your car is, I'll pay you". With that, she turned and entered her car. Tony went and gave Andrew Estella's card because he was scared of Xander. He knew how powerful this man was and although The Jenners were powerful as well he was still scared of what could happen to Estella as this man had destroyed many powerful families.

"I'm really sorry about this sir. Ma'am can be a bit reckless, please forgive her as she didn't mean it".

"Let's go Tony" Estella yelled at Tony, startling him.

He turned and got into the car and drove Estella home.

"S-sir you're going to be late for your meeting" said Freddie. He was scared of upsetting his boss further.

"Let's go" said Xander with a smirk on his face and Andrew recognized that smirk. There was trouble looming.

"Find out about that woman" said Xander coldly as he got into the car.

Andrew looked at the card Tony gave him and read it "Estella Jenner" but where had he heard that name? He gulped and said "Miss Jenner, you've have no idea what you have gotten yourself into".
