Siblings Quality Time

"Yes, a loser stays a loser!" he said as he made his horse gallop past Anwen. "I won't let it happen!" Anwen did the same to her horse. They took turns getting ahead of each other and mocked their opponent that making the competition even more intense. Clouds of dust billowed as they passed the direction back to the starting line. Woohoo! "His Majesty is so excellent." The women who were in the place felt very fascinated seeing Rion riding so gallantly. In the audience, a young man with blue eyes like sapphire gems was watching Anwen's figure closely. He was Kaven Carolus, the son of Duke Carolus, who was betrothed to Anwen. "She is Princess Anwen. What a coincidence that you came here. This must be a sign that the two of you are indeed fated to be together. What do you think, Young Master?" "What an attractive girl," Kaven mumbled subconsciously, which made the bodyguard sitting nearby tease him instantly. "Wohooo, frankly. Is this what you call love at first sight? So sweet." The slightly short and chubby bodyguard cupped his cheeks and smiled broadly like an enchanted boy. Kaven ignored his bodyguard's ridiculous face, then rubbed his chin. "First sight, hmm?" Without taking his eyes off Anwen, he remembered that this was not the first time he had seen Anwen. They met for the first time in a small village five kilometers away from Green Castle. Love at first sight? Seemed like it's true. Anwen and Rion's horses flashed before him. The match ended in a draw. People around Kaven ran to Rion and Anwen to congratulate and give praise to them. Kaven just stayed where he was, while he continued to watch Anwen, who was currently scratching her head and thanking those who praised her. 'Her smile is so genuine, and so is her laugh. She's so carefree, so sweet. What a unique beauty.' Kaven smiled. Anwen really made him curious. "Young Master, are you just going to stare at her? Or are you going to come over to her?" asked Otzi, the bodyguard. He added teasingly, "This is a good opportunity, you can also meet your future brother-in-law." "I don't think so. Not now." Kaven pulled his hat further down to cover his face properly. That face could distract all the girls' attention that was currently focused on King Rion. "Are you feeling nervous?" Otzi followed the footsteps of the young lord as he left the place. "You know 'nervous' is not in my dictionary," Kaven replied with a chuckle. "Then why don't you want to meet her now? This is the right timing because you can all meet your future brother-in-law." Otzi ran and walked by Kaven's side. He nudged Kaven's waist lightly, and it made Kaven halt his steps. "You might want to go straight home and ask the Duke and Duchess to arrange the wedding quickly. However, in that case, you must break up with all of your girlfriends. Can you endure just having one girl, Master?" Otzi glanced at him as he batted his eyes. "Tsk." Kaven pushed Otzi's face, which was very close to his. He then continued on his way again. 'Be with just one girl? Can I do that or not, hm…' Kaven put his hands in his trouser pockets, then secretly glanced at Anwen, who was still standing in the crowd. A few moments later, after the horse race, Anwen took Rion to a fair that was quite far from the palace. They entered the fair disguised as ordinary people. Before that, Anwen first told Rion to pawn Derby in the pawnshop, because they left the palace with no money at all. They tried all the games at the fair such as archery, bowling ball, arm wrestling (Rion competed and Anwen took the prize), and various other games and entertainment. They won so many prizes, that some stall owners closed their doors when they saw the two coming. The behavior of the stall owners made Anwen and Rion look at each other and then laugh. After they were satisfied playing, they switched to trying various snacks sold there, as well as shopping for various items. After that, they went to a shop that sold animals such as guinea pigs, porcupines, rabbits, and others. "Wow, Brother, look! They're so cute!" Anwen lifted the cage of two white and brown mini hedgehogs. "Do you want that?" "Yes." Anwen nodded, and Rion immediately bought the two hedgehogs for Anwen. "How much do the two hedgehogs cost?" "Two silvers, sir." Rion gave two silver coins, and the seller thanked him. Anwen also thanked her brother, then took him into a jewelry and accessory shop. Rion, who had a hard time carrying all of Anwen's gifts and shopping bag, was surprised when Anwen invited him into the place. Little did he know that his sister was also interested in jewelry. Haha! Rion put all of Anwen's shopping bag on the floor and took a shaky breath. After that, he sat on a chair while he fanned his face with his hands. Anwen really worked him hard. He was tired, but he was happy. While he rested, he noticed that Anwen was picking out jewelry. His sister was like a foal that kept running without ever getting tired. "My sweet and simple sister," Rion mumbled and then smiled. After he watched Anwen for a while, he looked around the shop. So many sparkling gems. Any woman who walked into the shop probably would forget to leave. The focus of his gaze stopped on a pair of beautiful blue earrings hanging on the shelf to his right. He stood up and walked over to the shelf. When he picked up the earring and looked at it closely, he thought of Odette. The earrings' color was very beautiful, like the color of Odette's eyes. "Good choice, sir." A woman, who was one of the shop assistants came over. Her voice made Rion turn to look at her. "This earring is one of our newest collections. Adorned by a blue sapphire in the shape of a heart, it's a perfect gift for a loved one." The shop assistant smiled sweetly, while Rion looked back at the earring intently. The figure of Odette looking at him with bright blue eyes appeared in his mind. "Would you like to buy it, sir?" "Yes." Ron nodded. A few moments after he bought the earrings, he put them in his shirt pocket, then Anwen came over. "Brother, look." Anwen showed a brooch adorned with a purple gem in the center. "What do you think?" "Very beautiful." "Then this is a gift from me to you. Well, even though I bought it with your money." Anwen smiled faintly. Rion accepted the brooch with pleasure. (Brother's money = money from the proceeds of pawning Derby, Rion's favorite horse.) Time flew by so fast for Anwen and Rion, that they didn't even notice that it was already evening. From the fair, they went to a lake. While they were on Dan, it was hard to carry the two of them along with all the shopping bags. Now the two siblings were sitting by the lake. "Today was very fun. Wasn't it?" Anwen asked her brother. Rion just smiled faintly. He couldn't call the whole day fun. He remembered Odette, who was still very angry with him.
