“Thanks a bunch," I say to the weird bald man behind the counter after I paid for my things. After a marathon of Game of Thrones, I head to the grocery to get some items, and as always, memories of the life before this one flash through my mind. I remember when the devil sent me to the liquor store to get some whatever for the almighty visitor the devil had been so eager to see. The visitor, she claimed was going to change our lives or rather hers. Holding the bag on my way home that day, made me want to poison the drinks, but I didn’t see myself raising kids in jail, so I kindly passed, the last part made me giggle as I got lost in my thoughts trying to get what this visitor was all about, considering I never got a chance to see the person. It was one memory I just couldn’t stop remembering, I mean, the devil made him or her, or it was a really big deal. As much as I try not to think of it, it just keeps coming back. "Was she selling me out!" my subconscious asked for the millionth time. I was scared, I won't lie, for someone to know the devil and still make a deal with him, he must be some psychopath. I try to deviate from the horrible thoughts, so I bring out my phone and plug in my headphones to listen to some music, but something doesn't feel right. I wanted to pick a different song, but my phone was some distance away from me, and my hands couldn't move. Wait! Everything can't move. I see the backlight of a car fade away with speed. What is happening right now? I can feel pain everywhere, nowhere, anywhere. I don't know what I feel, but two things I'm sure about are I can feel the excruciating pain in my stomach and the fact I was fading away, the world was somehow shrinking and getting darker. "Moon!" I hear a voice shout in the distance, a voice my mind tries to tell me I know, but the feelings I'm having won't let me think straight. "Hang in there sugar," the voice says right at the minute I feel lifted. Am I being carried? I opened my eyes after 20 seconds of World War Three with my eyelids, it's all blurry but I did get something, I saw golden brown eyes, with pain and fear swimming in them, such consolation. I saw tears, oh no! Sorry, that's mine. "Stay with me pumpkin,” the unknown voice says again. I'm trapped in between confusion and panic, the heck is pumpkin and sugar, I think this stranger got the wrong person. Still in my fading thoughts, I realized, I did know that voice, but it can't be. Oh hell no, it's all the darkness's doing. I slowly allowed the darkness to take over; by the way, it was deceiving me already.
