Kyra POV: Silence.

The air was thick with regret of me saying anything about how I was different. His eyes were burning holes through me as he stared at me in anticipation. I was in a ball in his lap, he still held on tightly. This man was easily 6 feet tall if not more.   I refused to make eye contact as I spoke refusing to answer his question but instead asking one of my own. “I don’t even know your name and you expect me to tell you all kind of things about myself?” I scoffed. I was proud of myself for thinking so quickly to hopefully distract him from my earlier statement.  He laughed suddenly, shaking me; I would have fallen out of his lap had it not been for his strong arms around me. “Are you trying to redirect this conversation so badly that you are going to go to basic things such as my name?” I blinked up at him confused.   “Fine” He huffed. “I go by my wolfs name, Lucious. After the war when it was only us shifters, it was easier to just use one name when being addressed, rather than my birth name when I am like this and my wolf’s name when I am shifted.”   My eyes went wide, their animals have a name? How did Gran not think to mention this to me. Would mine have a name? The Lycan blood is stronger in me than the Kitsune blood considering my grandfather was an Alpha.   “Oh” I stuttered. “I... I didn’t know that there was a difference. This is all still very new to me.” I shifted my body, uncomfortable with my own ignorance.  At that moment, I started to feel extremely hot, like I was in a sauna. I fought against his hold as I felt my heart begin to race and my vision go in and out. I could feel the pain from my mind stretching and snapping again.   This time, something broke. I screamed out in pain as my back arched, throwing myself out of his arms, and on to the floor. As the pain continued and my body felt like it was breaking along with my mind, I managed to push myself back up against the wall.  “What is happening to me? What did you do?” I cried, clawing at the crown of my head, pulling fists full of hair.  “I didn’t do anything to you beautiful, I was only holding you.” He blinked at me confused. He moved towards me, reaching out to touch me, grabbing my hands, pulling them away from my hair.   My heart started to slow and my body temperature started coming down. The pain was subsiding as he touched me and tried to soothe me.  “Mate...” A female voice hissed in my head.   “Shut up!” I screamed forcing my body out of his grasp.
