Chapter 14 : Our Agreement

Thomas with wide steps entered the hotel where a meeting was held for the launching of a famous brand in London. Here, Thomas will be present as the CEO of the Raymond Corporation and not as a leader of the Raymond Mafia clan.

Behind his identity as the leader of the Mafia clan, Thomas camouflages his identity as the CEO of his family's company. As for his activities as a Mafia, he did it secretly and worked in the shadows.

Only a handful of people know his secret identity as mafia chief and currently, Thomas is attending this meeting to see if news of the trouble created by his men is leaked to outsiders or not.

Actually, if his men hadn't acted, Thomas might not have come here. However, due to the negligence of his subordinates who let one of the slaves escape, he is finally here to seek information and ensure that his mafia clan is not suspected.

Hector, who had been waiting for Thomas in the lobby, immediately approached Thomas when he saw the figure of his boss. “Master, the others have already gathered on the spot, we should head over there immediately.” Hector reported the situation there while lowering his head.

"Hmm ... Come on, go," Thomas answered briefly and immediately left there to take the elevator in the luxury hotel.

As usual, the hotel is very busy with visitors, people can be seen passing by around the hotel. Thomas dialed thirty in the elevator, ready to attend his meeting.

There was a clanking sound from the elevator when they were on their intended floor, Thomas adjusted his suit a little before stepping out of the elevator. There were already a lot of people gathered there.

Thomas also began to mingle in the crowd of people he already knew, many important people were present at this event, even some state officials were also present here.

Before he searched for information, Thomas whispered to Hector to ask something, "Have you done what I did told you before?"

Hector brought his head closer to Thomas and whispered back to his boss, "I've ordered some of our trusted people to monitor the condition of your new house, sir. Master, you can take it easy, Miss Hannah will be fine.”

"Good job, then I'm no longer worried about that girl's condition," said Thomas a little relieved when he heard Hector had done what he asked, at this time Thomas could calmly mingle in this event and gather the information he needed.

Hannah was still awake that night, waiting for Thomas to come home, but even after midnight he had not returned. "Looks like I'll have to wait until tomorrow to talk to Thomas," Hannah muttered under her breath.

Hannah only had time tomorrow to discuss this matter with Thomas because the day after tomorrow she had to go back to work and Hannah was sure she would only have a little time to talk to the man.

Before she returned to work, Hannah wanted her problems with Thomas to be resolved and not to worry and add to her workload.

Tired of waiting for Thomas to come home, Hannah finally decided to go back to sleep and hoped that tomorrow she could discuss with Thomas smoothly and not be scolded by the man again.

Last night Thomas came home in the early hours of the morning, to be more precise he came home at two in the morning. When he got home, Hannah was already asleep and he also immediately rested himself.

And this morning, Thomas was awakened by the smell of food that seemed to be made by Hannah. Thomas opened his eyes and quickly pulled the blanket off.

Thomas opened the door to his room while rubbing his eyes, he walked into the kitchen and saw Hannah was busy. "Is there anything I can help you with?" asked Thomas with a straight face.

Hannah jumped when she heard a voice from behind her, shocked when she heard Thomas' voice, even so Hannah accepted Thomas' offer of help without hesitation, "Hmm... Can you help me to arrange the food on the dining table?" Hannah also pointed to some side dishes not far from her.

Without saying anything, Thomas hurriedly took the side dish Hannah pointed to and moved the food onto the dining table. Then, Hannah took two glasses of water and followed Thomas from behind.

And they gathered at the dining table to have breakfast together, unlike yesterday, now Hannah and Thomas were just silent and didn't say anything to each other. All they could hear was the clinking of the spoons and forks they used to eat.

Until finally, when she finished breakfast, Hannah got up the courage to ask Thomas about her request to the man last night.

“Um… Thomas. Can we talk for a bit?” Hannah called to Thomas who had just finished eating.

Thomas could be heard sighing when he heard Hannah's question, it seemed like he couldn't avoid this problem. Thomas looked up and said, "So, what do you really want to tell me?"

Even though the feeling of fear in her heart was still there, Hannah chose to be brave and said what was bothering her to Thomas, "Regarding my request last night, can you hide our marriage from the others?" Finally, the words left Hannah's lips too.

Thomas took another breath and exhaled slowly, trying to calm himself. “Why do you want to hide our marriage? I'll listen to your explanation first before I say my answer," Thomas replied, keeping his gaze fixed on Hannah.

Hannah thought she might stiffen up at this point because of the intense glare Thomas was giving her. Even so, Hannah braced herself and told Thomas her reasons, of course she thought of a reasonable reason for the annoying man to agree.

“You know I am a detective and you know I’m a woman," said Hannah with a sigh as she remembered her hard work to get to her point of achievement this time.

"It's difficult for me to work as a female detective, especially if they add that they know that I'm married to a mafia leader like you," Hannah continued with a soft smile at Thomas.

Thomas was silent when he heard Hannah's explanation of his request, at first Thomas was very objected to the woman's request. However, after hearing the girl's concern, Thomas came to quite understand what Hannah was feeling.
