Chapter six: Sparks

-HE WHAT?- Sophie said, well, screamed.

-Shhh I know, so I kicked their asses out and told them to leave.

-Did they?

- Yeah, Alpha agreed, it was really disrespectful.- I said before I sighed.

-Don’t worry Ely, today we will dance, and sing and get drunk!- Sophie said before showing the ID to go to the club.

- To be honest, another day I would have said no because tomorrow is the wedding but I just need to forget what happened this morning.

-Yas girl! Let's get crazy.

Sophie and I went inside the club, it wasn’t completely full but there was a good vibe. Some people were dancing, other ordering drinks and a few were in the VIP area.

-Let’s go to the sofas.- I said to Sophie with a Long Ice Tea in my hand.

-So tell me.- Sophie said- are there any cute foreign guys?

I thought for a little bit, Sophie was single like me so I know she was interested to flirt tomorrow. I was trying to think of any guy who is her type but for some reason, it will always appear the same guy in my head.

-There are some, actually I find the Alpha of the Shaddy Forest Pack quite hot.

-Wow, I saw that face.

-What do you mean?

-You like him!

-What? Are you crazy? No, I just said he is hot. But he looks so serious all the time.

-Serious or mysterious?- Sophie insisted.

-…both, it’s just that you can’t guess what he thinks or how he feels.

-But wait? Isn’t he the one who jumped to intervene?

-Yeah, that one…Kyle.

-Oh, so you even know his name.

-I know all of the names. Especially the Alphas and Betas.

We kept talking for a little bit till the music was so loud that we had to scream to each other’s ears. The club was almost full of people. So we decided to and dance now that we were feeling tipsier. We get carried away by music and alcohol. We got excited when we knew the words of a song and we danced with our arms in the air. And then I felt an arm on my waist.

-Long time no seeing you.- said a deep voice in my ear. So I turned around to see who it was.

-Henry?!

Oh Henry, where should I start? Do you know when you meet with a guy several times in a month but he is not your boyfriend? Well, something like that. We used to see each other partying quite often and we would make out. But we are not each other’s mates so we never took it seriously.

-How are you?-I said with a wide smile and I hugged him.

-Good good, I didn’t expect to see you here tonight.

- So is this a nice surprise or not?

-Sure it is! Have you been good? I guess you have been working a lot for THE wedding.

-Yeah, it’s been hectic.- I turned around to see Sophie and she was already kissing a cute guy. How does she do that?

-Forget Sophie, let’s dance.- And Henry took my hand to dance one next to the other.

Sometimes I think it’s a shame he is not my mate. We understand each other really well, and in the bed is just…REALLY GOOD. So I wonder who is out there, who is a better match than him. But I don’t think that right now. I’m dancing, letting my head move freely with my chin pointing up. And then what was meant to happen, happened. Henry put his forehead against mine and we kissed. We hugged and we kept kissing passionately. As I said we understood each other so our tongues were kind of dancing. But the club was too crowded and we kept been pushed by people. The sofas were busy so we decided to move to the smoking area outside. It was bit chilly and windy.

-Do you want my jacket?- He offered.

-Gosh no, haha it’s okay.

-Come on, here, put it on.- I put it over my shoulders I guessed we weren’t going to be outside for too long.

We moved a little bit away from the 2-3 guys that were smoking. My back was against the wall and Henry put his hands on my hips. We smiled and kiss again. This is what I needed, I don’t mean Henry, I just need not think like I am the Beta, not to argue, nothing to organize. He held me tighter. Suddenly I didn’t need the jacket, the temperature was really high.

And then we stopped. There were no hands, no lips, nothing touching me. I opened my eyes and Henry was on the floor. His blond hair had red dots of blood that he was spitting from his mouth. Next to him was a tall guy with long black hair tied in a bun. WHAT IS GOING ON?! The tall guy kicked Henry was on the floor when he was trying to stand up.

-I’m going to f*cking kill you!- He said.

-Wait! Stop!- I hurried to where he was. Ho does he think he is? He is going to pay for this.

I rushed to stop him cause he was ready to punch him again so I grabbed his arm to stop him.

His skin…so soft…so perfect. All my body was full of little fireworks.

He turned around to see me. Of course, he felt the same sparkles. He… Alpha Kyle!? Is he my…

-You are my… -I said almost whispering while we stared at each other. I looked at him. I knew he was hot, but at that moment he was more handsome than ever.

- Dude *cough* what the hell.- Said Henry standing up.

Oh F*ck, I kissed with another guy in front of my mate! And he is an Alpha! Henry is more than dead. I hurried to stay between them.

-NO! Please don’t. Henry, leave now.- I said

- Who is he? Is he your boyfriend?

-No!

-But you were kissing.- He was really angry.

-I know but I didn’t know.

-What?.- Henry said.

- Just get the f*ck out of here.- I turned my head to speak to him. But then I felt Kyle’s hand moving me to one side.

-No, stop!

- WHY WOULD I !? He f*****g touched you! You even smell like him!- The jacket! F*ck. I threw it.

-I know, I’m sorry. But everyone is looking please let it go. HENRY GET THE F*CK OUT OF HERE.

-No, Ely. I’m not afraid of him.- He answered me. Dumb ass. I held Kyle's arm.

-Kyle please.- Then he stared at me.

-No.- he let go of his arm from my grip.

-Ely, is everything alright?.- I heard Sophie’s voice on my back.

-No is not!.- I said trying to stop the fight that already started.

-Kyle stop! It won’t happen again and we didn’t know!- I said trying to hold him from the back. But he wasn’t listening.- If you continue I’ll leave and never speak to you.- Just by saying it, it hurt a little bit.- KYLE PLEASE. I WON’T SEE HIM AGAIN BUT STOP NOW!- As I said, he wasn’t listening.

Henry was on the floor, I could see he was finding it hard to focus.

-Sophie call do something and call an ambulance!

-MOVE!.- I heard I guy’s voice behind me and I did when I realized it was Kyle’s beta. He pushed Kyle against the wall.

-Brother enough!- he said

-I called the ambulance, let’s go, now!.- Sophie said holding my hand. I looked at Kyle. I understood his anger. But I was disappointed he didn’t listen to me. He was looking at me too. But I turned around. I didn’t want to see him, Henry wasn’t my boyfriend but I kind of care about him.

I was seeing it in red. Every cell of my body was full of anger.

-We need to go. Leave him.- Josh was talking really close to my face. I looked at that guy on the floor. And I saw the flashbacks again. Him with my mate, touching her, grabbing her, kissing her!

-Kyle we will be in trouble if we don’t leave! And if we get kicked out you won’t see her again!- Josh was really nervous. I could hear the ambulance coming.

-Okay.- I sighed.- let's go.

We went to the car. I rarely let Josh drive but I was too nervous to do it. I never felt my blood pressure so high.

-So… Is he..? Or was he…her boyfriend?- Josh broke the silence.

-She said no. She doesn’t have any marks. I believe her. She also said she didn’t know.

-How she didn’t know?

-I don’t know…

-Does she know now?

-Yes. We touched. And it’s true. I have no doubts now about her.

-What is true?

-The sparks. That’s how she found out. f**k! Why did she have to do it!?

- Come on, you have kissed other girls before.- I clenched my jaw.

-Shut up…-I sighed.- did you notice?

-What?

-She was about to cry when she left.

-I guess…- he paused for a few seconds- is not the way you expect to find out about your mate.

-Or maybe she cried because of him.

-but she was looking at you. Not at him. - I didn’t answer this time.- She and her friend had clearly more than a couple of drinks. Probably she was just overwhelmed. Think about the day she had today.

- True, and I just made It worse.

-It's not your fault. I would have punched him if I were you. He looked like a d**k.

-He is. He said he wasn´t afraid of me.

-There you go. She will never go back to him.

-I hope she goes back to me.

-She will, tomorrow just approach her and show her your nice side…if you have one.
