Chapter 29 – He touched her!

1047 Words
Alpha Tristen How dare he! A roar left me as I sprinted to Fee’s wolf form that lay unmoving on the field. I wanted to sprint to Larix, to rip his throat out for laying a finger on her. Needing to know her condition I suppressed the urge. To see that she was okay, to check on her first was my priority. Her immediate safety would always come first. Watching her sit up seemingly unharmed, I moved closer as she locked her eyes on Larix who had already turned to Lilly. Unable to read Fee’s expression, I had no idea what her and her wolf were thinking. She did not appear angry or irritated, not one bit. Rubbing up against her side she appeared to ignore my touch. Feeling a sense of rejection, sadness wormed its way into my heart. This whole day had been trying to say to least. A little blood seeping from her neck, I lent in closer to lick at the wounds and stop the bleeding. Leaning into my touch, my body relaxed at the acceptance of my comfort. Following her line of sight, once more my gaze landed on Larix. Watching as he shifted back, a feeling of irritation grew within me. Moving my body slightly I shielded Fee’s eyes from the view of his naked body, only stepping out of his line of site as Larix claimed a pair of shorts from Adam. Again, I turned back to watch Fee, her eyes still intently trained on Larix. I could feel and hear the change in her heartbeat as she continued to stare. What the f**k was going on? Luke had already claimed Lilly in his arms protectively, his body tense. I could feel Larix’s aura darken as he proceeded getting closer to check on Lilly. They were like family, the only two left of their pack. Lilly had somehow escaped unharmed. The one-time Luke tried to get her to open up, she had stated that she had killed her best friend, her sister to get out. Larix at the time of the attack had been out on council duties. Every member of the pack was slaughtered in cold blood. Many of their bodies missing completely, only their blood left behind to forever haunt the memories of whoever laid eyes to the horrific scenes. The day Larix found Lilly here was the weirdest day. She had already adapted to life here having found Luke. Having her mate had been significant in her recovery, but even now mentally she would never fully recover, she was delicate as a flower. Larix already had a reputation, heartless is what he was, I had never seen him soft and caring towards anyone. Though the second he found her, she ran to his arms. He held her close as she wept in his arms for what felt like hours. Even Luke growing jealous tried to intervein finding no success in breaking them apart. Lilly appeared the calmest of the bunch as she had her eyes trained on us, as if trying to work something out. Being quite close with Lilly I was apologetic for the scare Fee may have caused, but she did not do any harm. Larix however, he would need to answer for his crimes, attacking my Luna. Just the thought sent rage rippling through my body. Phasing back, I turned to Fee who oddly was already doing the same. Her bones cracking lightly as she shifted reasonable quickly. Adam ran over, chucking me some shorts and a t-shirt. Rushing I pulled the big shirt over Fee’s head who looked so fatigued, that she might just fall over right then and there with a single gust of wind. Claiming Fee in my arms after having pulled the shorts on, she rested for a moment against my chest. Appearing frozen, she continued to breath heavy as her heart thundered away in her chest, something was wrong. Turning my head, I noticed Erica emerging from the pack house moving towards Larix. Always prioritising Lilly, Larix moved closer to her and Luke, seemingly trying to get a response from her. Lilly’s face remaining blank as her eyes stayed on us, I watched as Larix still appeared to communicate with her to no end. His fists balling at his side, anger resonated clearly from his body. Turning toward me, he stalked in my direction. Scrunching my nose, I hid Fee behind my back as I felt all my hairs stand on end threatening to change back. Our auras meeting, a snarl surfaced from my chest challenging him to continue forward at his own risk. I was Alpha, he was a mere council member. He was from a line of Alphas, but he was not one. I would destroy him if he even tried to touch Fee again. A tiny hand gripping my elbow, sparks shot through me as Fee peeked around my body that was completely blocking her own. I felt her little body tremble behind me, was she frightened? Fee was never frightened. The thought of her in fear poured petrol on my anger, as I could feel my body’s heat skyrocket. My chest heaving up and down as she once again hid her face behind me, seemingly in a panic. Fee had not had restraint on any emotion since she had arrived, but now she trembled, she hesitated. The thought rolling through my mind, I tried to push them away to deal with this i***t first. Larix continued his approach with no hesitation, growing closer to us by the second. He was not even phased as my fangs protruded. Only stopping feet from us. “So you allow rouge rubbish to attack your pack mates, and as I hear it Erica, your future Luna?” A smirk crossing his lips, I went to lurch forward, only stopping as little hands gripped at the back of my shirt tightly.
