Chapter 3- Journal Entry 3

*Piper’s Journal- Age 17* Today was a long day. A long day of toil that I thought I would never end. The thing is, it shouldn’t have been. It’s Saturday, the last day in my first week cleaning the pack house. Also the first day cleaning the Alphas’ floor. It should have been a short day, I only had to work from 11:00AM-3:00PM. The rest of the week actually wasn’t too bad, so I thought today would be simple. Why do I ever bother thinking that? The thing is, it was simple. At first. Until I made a mistake. Well, a series of mistakes. Big ones. Huge ones. When I first got there I noticed that the Alphas were leaving the pack house, which I thought was a good thing. It meant I could clean their floor without having to interact with them. Easy day, right? Oh how I was wrong. I went up to the top floor and let their guards know who I was. Yes, guards. They stand at the entrance to the top floor to make sure no unauthorized people get in. They confirmed who I was and let me in. Easy. The Alphas’ floor was amazing. They had their rooms, of course, but they also had several guest rooms. But most impressive, they had a full kitchen and laundry room already on the floor, as well as two different living room areas with massive TVs. This would make my job easier, as I had to do their laundry, so having a laundry room on this floor saved me some time. What could go wrong? Everything. Everything could go wrong. I went into Alpha Ivan’s room first. It was a large room, stunning really. The walls were a really pretty deep blue color, and a large bed sat positioned in the middle of one wall. On another wall there was a desk, everything neat and tidy on it. It was in front of a window in the middle of that wall, looking out over the gardens of the pack house. But the most impressive part was what surrounded the desk. On either side of it there were massive bookshelves with tons of books neatly lining the shelves. I couldn’t help but look at some of the titles. There were books on history, on science, medicine, astronomy, practically anything you could think of. Most of them were non fiction books, but it was still an impressive collection. I didn’t want to stay in the room too long though, so I grabbed Alpha Ivan’s sheets and dirty clothes and took them to the laundry room, getting started on the first load. While I waited for it to wash, I cleaned the rest of Alpha Ivan’s room. Vacuuming, dusting, just in general making sure everything was in order. I finished before the laundry was done, so I moved on to Alpha Victor’s room next. That was where I made my first mistake. His room was the same size as Alpha Ivan’s, but the walls were a pale green color. It was a nice shade of green, not like some green shades that look like puke. Yuck. Alpha Victor didn’t have large bookshelves, but he did have a desk, though it was not as organized as Alpha Ivan’s. His window also overlooked the gardens, which I expected. His bed looked bigger than Alpha Ivan’s, and was more comfortable. See, my first mistake was being short. I’m a little under 5ft tall, so when I was trying to get the bedsheets off, I fell. So I was able to come to the conclusion that Alpha Victor had a much more comfortable bed, even though I was only on each bed for a few seconds at most. My second mistake was cleaning Alpha Victor’s room at all. When I went to take the pillowcases off of the pillows, I found a small book. It wasn’t labeled, and I wasn’t sure what to do with it, so I just set it on his desk and finished grabbing all of his laundry. At this point the first round of laundry was done washing, so I quickly switched it to the dryer and put in another load. I decided to wash Alpha Victor and Alpha Ivan’s clothes together so I would have time to finish all of the laundry before leaving. That was my third mistake. It’s extremely hard to sort through clothes when you don’t know the people and they wear the same size. My final mistake is really a culmination of all my previous mistakes, with some extra stupidity sprinkled in. Really, it started with the assumption that I would be alone all day to clean. I had finished everything but the laundry by the time the Alphas showed up. I was in the laundry room folding and hanging their clothes when I heard one of them let out a loud growl, making me freeze instantly. “WHO THE f**k WAS IN MY ROOM?” One of the Alphas bellowed. I swallowed down my fear and walked out of the laundry room, my eyes staring at my feet. In a timid voice I said “I was Alpha, I am the cleaning person. I was told to come clean this floor today. I apologize if-“ He cut me off. “Don’t touch my s**t. Just do your job and leave. I don’t need anyone poking around in my room.” He said roughly. “I apologize Alpha, I was instructed to clean your sheets and clothes. I am almost finished, I was about to begin putting everything up.” I said quietly. “That’s exactly what you are supposed to do. What you are NOT supposed to do is rifle through my things.” I could feel his eyes on me, but I didn’t dare look up. “Alpha, I wasn’t rifling through your things, I swear!” He stalked towards me, suddenly shoving something in my face. “Then why was this sitting on my desk?” He asked in a rough, demanding voice. It was the book I had found in his pillowcase. “Oh. It was in your pillowcase Alpha, when I went to change your sheets it fell out. I put it on the desk since I wasn’t sure what to do with it.” I said softly. He wasn’t satisfied with that answer, and went to yell at me again. Before he could the other Alpha came in and spoke up. “Victor, she won’t touch it again. Next time don’t have it in your pillowcase on the day the cleaning lady is supposed to be here. No need to scare this one off too, look at what a good job she did.” Alpha Ivan (I think) tried to calm down the angry Alpha (Alpha Victor?). It worked to a point, because Alpha Victor just turned around and stormed off. Alpha Ivan just nodded at me and left the room, so I went back to the laundry. They ended up telling me to leave the laundry in the laundry room as they were both busy in their rooms. I don’t have to see them again until possibly Monday, so hopefully I put the clothes in the right piles. I don’t want to know what Alpha Victor would do to me if I f****d that up too. I just have to be perfect from now on. Especially now that they know who I am.
