In the Kingdom of Magic, Micah and Vincent’s family are gathered to discuss the matter of Micah’s recent rebellion.
“We should seek help from the king and queen. I’m sure they would lend us a hand in finding Micah. She is, after all, the royal regent of the kingdom.” Micah’s father suggested. They were at the residential office of Vincent’s father, as they wait for the report of the sorcerers who were sent to the city of the Lost to find Micah.
“I have already sent a letter to her majesty, Queen Amara. I’m sure she will lend us a hand, but if not, I will ask the High King and Queen for assistance instead.” Micah’s grandfather replied.
“The wedding MUST push through, especially now that the Moon Goddess is in our favor. From the beginning, she knew Vincent and Micah were meant to be together.” Micah’s mother said. Turning her head to the side, she gave Vincent a sad smile as she continued, “I do not know why she ran away from you Vincent, but I know how much she waited for you. She’s probably just confused right now.”
“She left with that vampire.” Vincent replied, remembering the kiss that Micah and that vampire shared right before his eyes. He wanted to think that Micah was simply trying to make him jealous, but seeing her with him, it seemed they’d known each other for a long time.
On the other hand, upon hearing the word vampire, Micah’s grandfather was enraged. “What do you mean she left with a vampire?”
Vincent didn’t say a word as he was trying not to think about Micah’s affair with a vampire mythic.
“That is impossible, Vincent. Micah knows that we never associate ourselves with any vampire mythic.” Says Micah’s mother. Their conversation was interrupted by a knock on the door.
“That must be one of my men.” Vincent’s father said, thus permitting them to come in.
The man bowed his head before them and said, “Sir, we searched the city of the Lost thoroughly but there was no sign of Micah Clark. Although we saw the vampire she was with, Micah was not with him anymore.”
“Are you certain?” asked Vincent’s father.
“Yes, sir. As you ordered, sir, we consulted the chief of the protection unit of the city and asked for his assistance. We’ve left no rocks unturned during our search and we posted pictures of Micah Clark, but according to the citizens, the last time they saw her was two days ago.” The man replied.
Standing from his seat, Vincent faced the man and said, “Gather your men in thirty minutes. I know of a place where we can get information about Micah’s whereabouts.”
“Yes sir.” The man bowed his head and left the room.
“Where is this place you’re talking about, Vincent?” Micah’s father asked.
Turning back around, Vincent replied, “I’m going to ask for help from a witch.”

Micah and Adam stopped by a modernly designed house found at the side of the road backed with tall trees and a river not too far back on the opposite side of the road. Staring at the two-story house, reminded Micah of Cullen's house in the Twilight series. The only difference was there are neighbors from at least a few kilometers away. It’s not too far from people, which doesn’t seem suspicious at all.
Adam pressed the horn in a rhythmic pattern and in a few moments, the garage opened. When the car was parked inside, he turned to her and said, “Let’s go.”
Micah silently followed him into the house. From behind, she noticed how Adam seemed to be familiar with the place. She remembered him mentioning it was a friend’s place. It’s probably someone he knew for centuries.
“Trevor!” Adam called and a tall, young-looking man descended from upstairs with messy hair.
“George told me you were coming but I didn’t expect it to be quite soon.” The man named Trevor said, bumping his fists into Adam’s.
Turning his attention to Micah, he fixed his hair in a swift motion and offered his hand to her with a sweet, flirty smile on his face. “Hello there, beautiful. I’m Trevor. I didn’t know my good old friend would bless me with your presence, but may I know the name of the most beautiful lady I have laid my eyes on?”
Smiling in courtesy, Micah accepted his hand and said, “It’s Micah. Although the compliment is quite flattering, I find it hard to believe that I am the most beautiful lady you’ve ever seen in your centuries of living.”
“I like a woman that can work her tongue.” Trevor replied seductively, gently pulling her closer to him. Micah raised an eyebrow as she found Trevor the complete opposite of Adam.
Adam had a deep frown on his forehead as he watched Trevor flirt with her. His frown got deeper when he drew closer to her and when Trevor pulled her close, he growled silently. “Trevor.”
Upon hearing his voice, Trevor glanced at him. “One more finger and your heart will roll.
“Now that’s interesting. Don’t tell me she’s your-----”
“Don’t test my patience, Trevor.” Trevor lets go of her, instantly raising his hand in surrender. “Chill bro. You know I wouldn’t dare.”
“Let’s go.” Adam said. He rested his hand on her lower back, guiding her upstairs to a room with a cream-colored interior.
“We will stay here for the night,” said Adam. Micah nodded her head and walked to the window where she could see tall trees and snowcapped mountains at a far distance. She turned around and frowned when she saw him, sitting on the bed taking his shoes off. “What are you doing?”
“I’m changing, little bug.” He replied nonchalantly.
Micah raised an eyebrow. “…...and why are you doing that here?”
“This is my room too, sweetheart.” he replied. Micah blinked her eyes. She was about to react when he suddenly appeared in front of her.
“I know we had a little misunderstanding, my love, but can you forgive me now? I never meant to leave you like that. You know I would never leave you.” Adam said, causing a little bit of confusion for Micah.
He stared into her eyes as if asking her to play along. Micah’s eyes stared at him intently, and he found himself lost in them. She looked past him and to the slightly opened door to feel Trevor’s presence against the door. She then understood what Adan was trying to do, even if she didn’t see the need for it.
Sighing, Micah shook her head and looked into Adam’s eyes. She put her arms around his neck, and Adam’s body tensed at her touch. The warmth from her touch was like fire to his cold skin.
In Micah’s mind, she was surprised that his skin was not as cold as she thought, or maybe, for some reason, she found comfort in his cold touch.
Micah let her hand slide down his chest as she continued to stare into his eyes. Adam was silently watching intently, observing her every move. Trevor’s presence was less of his worries right at that moment. All he cared about is her standing inches from him and the sensation brought by her touch.
Micah looked into his eyes and said, “Adam……I do not care if you leave me. You can leave any time you want. I will be okay……”
Adam stared deeper into her eyes, but deceit was nowhere to be seen. She was not trying to lie. “I will be okay…...because I know you would always come back for me.”
She bit her lip and inhaled sharply. “I can wait centuries for you…. Adam.”
Adam mentally cursed. “That was a careless thing to say, and dangerous because there would be no turning back. You will be mine now.” His eyes landed on her luscious lips and he remembered how it tasted. Losing all control, he held the back of her head and pulled her for a kiss.
Micah blinked her eyes when Adam suddenly captured her lips. She felt Adam’s arm around her waist pulling her closer. Her arms found their way around his neck as if they had a mind of their own.
As the heated kiss ended, Micah gasped and blinked her eyes. She turned her head to the side and bit her lip, embarrassed.
“Calm down, Micah. That was just for show. There’s no meaning to it but…….” Micah lifted her head and frowned when she saw him staring at her, looking amused.
Looking down, she smacked his hand holding her waist, making Adam chuckle. Micah rolled her eyes at him and pushed him away.
“What’s funny devil love?” Adam smirked. “Devil love? That doesn’t sound so endearing, sweetheart.”
“Whatever.” Micah turned around but Adam’s body was aching for her warmth. He caught her waist and pulled her against his chest. “Let go of me.”
He leaned in closer to her ear and whispered, “I will but……”
Micah felt his breath behind her ear making her bite her lip at his cool breath on her skin. “……that was a dangerous thing to say, little bug.”
“Everything is dangerous with you.” Micah retorted, speaking her mind. “It seems you’ve been taking advantage of me tonight, love.”
Adam smirked before letting her go. The chills from his touch made Micah’s body ache from need, but she was not planning on showing it. Turning around to face him, Micah raised an eyebrow. “Who are you?”
He reached for her face and traced the bridge of her nose with his finger, down to her lips, to her neck and it was that same feeling she could never forget, but why didn’t she realize it sooner?
“You will know, angel.”
“You-------”
“Do you want to help me undress or do you want me to help you instead?” Micah blinked her eyes and gritted her teeth annoyed. “Are you the------”
“Now isn’t the time to talk about that, sweetheart.” Adam pressed a finger on his lips and pointed to the door’s direction.
“FINE.” Micah grabbed her bag and went to the bathroom, locking the door behind her. Leaning on the door, she remembered the encounter she had with that vampire. No, it wasn’t a stranger anymore. It was Adam. Although he did not confirm it, she knew it was him.
~~~~~~~
Micah changed into a loose t-shirt and leggings. Arci packed her nightdress, but she didn’t want to wear it with Adam acting peculiarly and now that she knew he was that vampire, it would be dangerous to wear such provocative clothes with him. Because she might give in.
When she walked out of the bathroom, Adam was silently sitting on the side of the bed in deep thought.
“Aren’t you going to sleep?” Micah asked.
Adam turned his head to look at her. “We don’t sleep at night.”
Micah shrugged her shoulders as she sat on the other side of the bed. “Are you saying vampires sleep during the day? You did say that the sun causes you blindness.”
“We sleep during the day as the sun hurts our eyes.” Adam replied. Micah nodded her head and closed her eyes briefly. Trevor’s presence was nowhere to be sensed. She opened her eyes and watched him as he silently stared ahead.
“Why didn’t you tell me?”
“If I did, what would you do?” Adam met her gaze and waited expectantly for her reply. Micah bit her lip and looked away. “I was waiting for you to come. I waited for you. Since that night, I have been sneaking out to the phantom forest, hoping to meet you again, but you never did.”
“Why?”
Micah snapped her head to the side and glared at him. “BECAUSE you assaulted me, took advantage of me, and put a hideous hickey all over me that it took a week to disappear. Don’t you think you owe me an apology?”
“Now that I think about it, you’ve been taking advantage of me since then. You stole a kiss from me the next time we met and just now, you did it again.” Adam crossed his arms over his chest and with an amused look on his face as he listened to her.
“PLEASE STOP LOOKING AT ME LIKE THAT.” Micah gritted her teeth annoyed.
Adam chuckled. Sighing, he looked into her eyes with a stern look on his face. “I wouldn’t do anything if you didn’t want it.”
He turned his body to face Micah. One of his arms was leaning on the mattress to support his weight while the other rested on his bended knee. “Why were you waiting for me?”
“I……. wanted you to take me away. If we ever meet again, I swore I would come with you and be with you to the ends of the world.” Micah replied, whispering as she was lost in his eyes.
“Why?”
Micah blinked her eyes and turned a poker face. “You’re getting on my nerves. Why do I have to answer your questions when you don’t even want to answer mine?”
“What do you want to know? I’ll allow you one question a day.” Adam replied.
“What were you doing in the phantom forests that night?” Micah asked.
Adam raised his eyebrows and smirked. “I was passing by the area when I saw a beautiful woman walking on the road aimlessly.”
“The scent of her blood was calling for me, so I followed her, and the rest was history.” He continued smirking.
“So, you were planning to eat me that night.”
“No.” Micah raised an eyebrow and eyed him suspiciously. “If I wanted to eat someone, I don’t bother with their scent. I listen to their pulsing veins and waste no time ‘eating’ them.”
“Then why did you------”
“You are my erasthai.”
