Their Switched Wolves

King Leon POV My name is Leon MacCarthy, and I'm the King of Werewolves. My realm, as well as the supernatural world, is under attack. Our adversaries are strong and powerful; they are the devils in disguise. In order to save my world and my mate, Kayla MacCarthy, I requested the help of a high-ranked witch, Natalie. She is also a trustworthy person and a close friend. To escape such a threat, we had to create a drastic plan. We are currently at Natalie's house and she is preparing the things she needs to proceed with the body-swapping spell between my mate and another young woman. My heart is racing. We must act quickly before they discover us here. "Natalie, hurry up, they're coming." My impatience became unbearable, and I couldn't help but snarl from within. "Please accept my apologies, King Leon; I'm getting everything ready. I can't possibly be any faster. We can't afford mistakes, so I have to be careful with everything." Natalie explains as she adds herbs to the boiling water. "I'm hoping our strategy works. It's the only way to keep her safe while also saving the supernatural world. I... I... I just hope Kayla can forgive me and us." My wolf is agitated and enraged at me. He tries to control me, but I'm blocking him. I'm not sure how long I'll be able to keep him at bay. My despair grew stronger by the second, and the minutes felt like hours. We'll all be in danger if the enemy arrives before we finish and before they wake up. "The potion has been finished," Natalie informed me, a small forced smile on her face. She, like me, is concerned. We both understand how critical it is to stick to our plan. I noticed her grab a small bowl and pour the prepared liquid into it. She approaches Kayla, who is still unresponsive. She moves closer to Kayla, my Queen, my mate, my love. Kayla is lying on a bed, looking peaceful, and my heart swells as I admire her beauty but worry at the same time about her and our future. Her long light brown hair falls over her shoulders, covering part of her flawless skin. If I could, I would sacrifice my life for hers, shielding her from all evil and uncertainty. Natalie knelt to be level with Kayla's body. The witch looks at Kayla tenderly and lightly kisses her forehead, demonstrating how much she likes and respects her. Kayla is the daughter Natalie never had. Then she places her hand on Kayla's chest, closes her eyes, and begins to mumble words in an ancient language I don't understand. She is casting a spell. My wolf, Lucio, is fighting for control because he does not agree with our plan. He wished to seize control and prevent Natalie from casting the spell. I can feel him getting stronger, and my hold on him is becoming increasingly shaky. Natalie takes her hand off Kayla's chest and places it on her hairline, repeating the same words. When Natalie finished the spell, she bowed Kayla's head and made her drink some of the potions she had created. Natalie stands up and moves to the bed next to Kayla's, the one occupied by Alpha Vincent's daughter, Alice, and begins the same procedure with her. She needs to cast the spell for both of them, and I´m starting to feel like this wasn´t a good idea, but now it´s too late to go back. I got a mindlink from Maverick: My King, the enemy has successfully crossed the border. They have already entered our realm. Maverick spoke quickly. Mav, coordinate the warriors and buy as much time as you can. I ordered and closed MindLink. We're running out of time. I ran my hands through my hair in despair. My stomach twitched as I observed Kayla´s body in that bed. Natalie was still mumbling her words when I heard some growling and howling and the sound of bushes being stepped on outside the house. I let out a deep sigh, pleading with the Moon Goddess not to abandon us. "Natalie, continue," I requested, walking out the door in my human form. I can not give control to Lucio inside the house because he will stop us from going forward. I shut the door and stepped outside. I saw warriors in front of me, ready to attack. I allowed Lucio to shift, I knew he'd go to any length to protect them. He doesn't give me one word, ignoring me, but he is willing to fight, kill, or even lose his life for his mate. Six to eight warriors charged at Lucio right away. My wolf leaps onto the torso of one of the enemy warriors, who weakens and stumbles. Lucio seized the opportunity to quickly turn his body and injure the adversary in the throat, inflicting a fatal wound in his jugular. Lucio tried to defend himself against one of the enemies who had launched into him and is biting his back leg, making Lucio snarl in a rage. With annoyance, Lucio jumps into the air, using all his strength, and manages to pull his leg free from his opponent's mouth and land on his four legs. He was now ready to attack again when we heard screams, Natalie's screams. We become worried and almost desperate as we realize the enemies are inside the house threatening their lives. In fluid, swift movements, Lucio bites and rips pieces out of enemies, killing or immobilizing them one by one successfully. He just wants to get inside and stop the enemies from getting Kayla, Natalie, or Alice. When all the threats had been contained, Lucio ran at full speed into the house, and when he entered, he couldn't believe his eyes, his heart clenched in pain. Natalie's lifeless body was lying in the living room, covered in blood and without the sound of a heartbeat. Natalie is dead! Lucio let out a loud howl of grief. Without the time to move in order to check on his mate, pain was felt in my neck. Everything started to darken. I could feel Lucio retreating and my body returning to its human form, and then... the darkness completely took over me.
