Jane Wright POV "Are you ready for the fun, Jane?" A voice fell into my ears, and I couldn't help but smile, hearing my father's voice. Today, nothing could dampen my happiness; I felt so thrilled. I was finally getting a chance to meet people from my pack. I rarely got the chance to interact with anyone other than the weapons and fighters on the training ground. While girls of my age enjoyed their lives, I had always been stuck on the training grounds, preparing to become the future gamma. After all those years, my father, the present Gamma of our Moonlight Pack, decided to throw a party for my birthday and introduce me to everyone. "Don't spoil anything, Jane. You know what I hate most, right?" he warned me, as usual. "Yes, Father, I know. Don't worry, I won't do anything that puts you to shame," I obediently replied. This was the relationship I shared with my father. He had always been strict with me, treating me more like a soldier he had to train than a daughter. But I kept trying to connect with him because I was the future Gamma of the strongest pack. I couldn't afford to be weak; I needed to be strong for our pack and myself. "Good," he walked away without sparing any glance at me, not even wishing me a happy birthday. It stung a little, but it was nothing new. I wasn't still used to his ways after spending eighteen years with him. He still felt like a stranger to me. "May I come inside?" Someone knocked on the door, snapping me back from my thoughts. I raised my head to see who it was. A smile spread on my lips when I saw the person outside. "Who's stopping you, Matthew?" I questioned playfully. Why shouldn't I? He was my boyfriend, my one and only. "You look beautiful," Matthew entered with a pleasant smile and complimented me. I blushed so hard that my cheeks felt like they would be even redder than a tomato. "I feel thrilled just by seeing you like this, in this beautiful dress, baby," he came closer and knelt on the ground, holding my hand. Butterflies started fluttering in my stomach. Matthew chuckled, seeing me act like a girly girl in response to his compliments, even though I had always been fierce. "Here, drink this. Happy birthday, sweetheart, a special drink for the special lady in my life," Matthew handed me a glass of blue drink he had bought for me. His sparkling brown eyes showed so much happiness, making my heart flutter even more. He brushed his silver hair with his slick and long fingers, making him look even hotter. "So, you're coming to the party, right?" I asked, taking sips of the tasty drink my boyfriend had specially served for me. "What do you think? Of course, I am going to come. It's my beautiful girlfriend's 18th birthday. How could I not attend?" he answered, kissing my knuckles. Matthew was someone I could trust with my whole life. He was the second son of the Alpha and someone I had known since childhood. We had been in a relationship for the past three years, and he was the only one who made me feel secure. His presence made this birthday party more memorable for me. I had never had any parties or anything special for my birthdays, so that day felt so different. "I am sure today is going to be the most memorable day for my sweetheart," he took the empty glass from my hand and caressed my lips seductively. In half an hour, I was going to have the most memorable day of my life. That beautiful white dress made me look like the princess I had always dreamed of being. And with Matthew by my side, appreciating me, my fantasies were running wild. "I have a surprise for you. Let's meet at the party," Matthew stood up, kissed my forehead, and then walked away from the room, leaving me and my heart going crazy with his little acts of affection. I adjusted my gown, feeling a little nervous and starting to get a little dizzy. I tried to calm my nerves; I couldn't be like this. It would be a disgrace for me and my father. What would everyone think if they saw the person whose father claimed to be his daughter and the strongest fighter in the pack after Alpha and his sons. "Lady Jane, are you ready?" someone patted my shoulder, and I blinked my eyes to get a clear vision of who was trying to wake me up, but my eyes were too blurry to even recognize the person. I could hear more words falling into my ears, but I couldn't make out any meaning from them; they were all jumbled up in my head. "Jane, wake up," I groaned in pain as someone tried to shake me, making my whole body jolt with pain. My eyes felt like they were burning as I struggled to open them. "Can you hear me, Jane?" Everything was so messed up; I could hear, but my body was not responding as it should. I couldn't open my eyes or move any part of my body with my own will. How did my best day turn into the worst? I had to open my eyes, or Father was going to kill me for all the embarrassment he might face because of my condition. I gathered my strength and pulled my eyelids apart, feeling like they were glued together. After struggling for a few more minutes, I finally opened my eyes, finding myself in an unfamiliar place. I tried to figure out what had happened. I fainted, but how? Was it because of nervousness? That was so unbelievable. In all my life, I had never lost consciousness like this. It was just too much to take. Why was I tied up on a chair? The ropes around me were covered with silver, not directly touching my body. But if I moved, they would burn me. "Don't even try, you'll hurt yourself, Jane," a voice warned.
