TYSON
I sat at my computer, downing another glass of whiskey. "Sir?"
I looked up at Shepard and scowled. "What do you want?"
"They searched the house, but found nothing. They must have left before the officers got there."
"What if Serenity is already dead?"
Shepard shook his head. "We won't stop until we find them."
"I would hope not. I need her back."
"I've sent dogs out to search the premises for any type of tracks. I need Rosey just as much as you need her, man."
"I won't sleep until I find her."
Nodding, Shepard left my office and I grabbed the bottle of Crown Royal to pour another glass. I'm sure alcohol wasn't the best alternative, but it numbed me after a while. No matter how many times the officers and Shepard told me they would find her alive, I began to doubt it. But despite all of my feelings, I had one goal: find Serenity, whether she's alive or not, and kill the son of a b***h who captured her.
SERENITY
I woke up and realized I was in bed, only I didn't recognize the room. As I tried to get up, I felt a pain in my back. Both my lower and upper stomach. I saw Vito dozing off on a chair across from my bed. I knew I had to get the hell out of here, but with the shape I'm in, it seemed merely impossible. But I had to try. I forced myself quietly out of bed and opened the door, looking back at Vito. It was surprisingly unlocked, but maybe he forgot to lock it. I noticed a large window at the end of the hallway and as I crept towards it and opened it, taking in the cold air, I tried to crawl out until I felt a presence above me. "Where do you think you're going?"
"Dale?"
He smirked. "You really thought we were that dumb?"
"P-please let me go."
As he went to grab me, I slipped out of his grip but the moment I got outside, I realized how high the window was from the ground. It had to have been at least twenty feet. I knew I would easily break a leg or possibly both, but I needed to try. I grabbed the awning and as I went to jump, I lost my footing and fell, hitting the hard concrete. I tried to get up, but I felt a foot crush my leg, a scream escaping my lungs. "I'll break both b***h if you try to escape again."
Dale grabbed my arms and he pinned me down on the ground, hovering a knife over my chest, pressing his other hand down on my broken leg. "Don't want to wake Vito now, do you?"
"Dale, please."
"Shut the hell up."
"B-but..."
"I told you to save her for last."
I heard Vito's voice and I saw Dale hand him a knife. "Vito, please let me go. I promise I won't tell anyone."
Shaking his head, he knelt down and grabbed my face. "You know my rules, yet you are so rebellious. When will you learn, Serenity?"
