Chapter 98 Confusion (Amara’s POV) I woke up early the next morning, slipping out of bed quietly, I made my way downstairs, hoping to start breakfast before the boys woke up. As I reached the bottom of the stairs, I heard Jay’s voice coming from the kitchen. He was on the phone, his tone low and urgent. “I understand, but we have to keep this quiet for now,” he said. “No, she doesn’t know. It’s better this way.” A chill ran through me. Who was he talking to? And what was he hiding from me? Memories of the past flooded back—times when he had kept things from me, especially when it came to Zara.
