THAT QUEEN

CHAPTER 5

‘’Make sure to send it to me done by tomorrow okay?’’ I nodded at Ashley after I sent her my work.

I closed the door of her office and went downstairs to the nurse’s station when I saw Dianne rushing towards me.

‘’Is there an emergency?’’ She nodded. 

''There was an accident. '' Dianne said and handed me the clipboard.

'' Felin Diaz, 39 years old. Gunshot '' Zion said beside me.

We were suddenly pinned by the ER while we were in the call room. There was a patient in an emergency and we were the ones who requested to attend

I stopped at what Dianne said. Did she just say, Feline Diaz?

'' What happened? '' I asked while we were in the elevator.

'' There was a g*n shooting in the plaza near here. Only Ms. Diaz seems to have been hit. . '' I nodded.

We went to the ER where the patient was. '' Where is Felin Diaz? '' I asked one of the nurses he pointed to the number and we nodded.

 '' She's here. '' Zion said and opened the curtain.

When it opened, I saw a family and a woman lying down. Her blood was gushing out and she was closing in on the pain.

I heard Dianne's gasp and we immediately looked at her wound. I gulped as I looked into her face, I still couldn't believe it.

What is she doing here? I went around to look at something but I did not see anything strange.

Did she come here alone? '' She's alone here? Is she alone in his house or whatever? '' A nurse who was looking at the patient's stats nodded.

'' She called the emergency hotline. When the Emergency arrived, he was alone in his house, not far away from here. They even have to break down the door to get in. '' The nurse said.

I nodded. We tore her clothes and we saw her wound and her left abdomen. We looked at it and the bullet was still inside.

'' We have to go to the OR now. '' Zion said. I nodded and suddenly the machines beeped. We looked up and I saw her chest slowly breathing.

I cussed. '' She's crashing doc. '' I went over to the patient and they put the resuscitator. I positioned myself and started to do CPR.

'' I want you to page Dra.Ashley. '' I told one of the nurses and he nodded.

'' Let's go to the OR. Now! '' I shouted and the other male nurse moved. I kept on pumping as we ran towards OR.

I sighed and relieved when we arrived. They immediately admitted the patient and I in turn switched into scrubs and hurriedly but surely washed my hand.

A nurse was helping me with my gloves when Ashley suddenly came in panting and her hair was messy. I raised my eyebrows but she only mouthed 'what?' 'And changed.

I went inside and saw that his stats were stable. I sighed and went to where Dianne was.

A minute later Ashley came in and looked at us. 

'' Name of the patient? '' '' Felin Diaz. Gunshot wound at her left abdomen. '' Zion said.

Ashley looked at the patient then she looked at me with her wide eyes.

I glared at her signing her to just shut up. Maybe they will know that we will meet and I will not let him operate.

We have a rule in this hospital that we cannot operate on our acquaintances or our relatives.

It's just because of emotional stuff. Surgery can even be affected when doctors are in distress.

"Feline Diaz doc, Her stats are stable, she's ready," Dianne said and I nodded.

I sighed '' Scalpel. '' I said.

'' Damn What is she doing here? What happened to her? '' Ashley asked next to me as we watched Feline outside the ICU.

I sighed and shook my head. The last time I saw her was nearly 3 years ago!

'' It's been 3 years since we last saw her. She has been in Italy ever since. What is she doing here? '' Ashley asked next to me.

I looked at him and at Feline. Maybe he knows.

'' Ask my father, maybe he got something with this. Ask him if he knows anything, also tell him what happened to her. '' He nodded and left.

I looked at Feline and smiled bitterly. She was part of the organization. She was my own butler and the most loyal one.

She first served my father then she served me as my personal butler. She was my protector and my butler ever since I was a child. She never left my side even though the trouble happened then. She kept my secret hidden from all. She remained loyal to me even if I always told her before to leave me because it was Katrina that she had to follow and not me. But she refused and told me that Katrina was an illegitimate child. I am the sole heiress and I am the only one who must be protected.

I looked at the bullet that was inside a medical plastic bag. I gasped as I recognized the bullet. I know whose bullet is this.

I looked at Feline who was unconscious. I clenched my fist. She will pay dearly for what she has done to you, Feline.

'' So? How was everything so far? '' Ashley and the other head doctors called me to the hospital. She was sitting at the far end of the long table and she was smiling.

His secretary gave him a folder. This 'Medical Mission' is stated on the front page.

I looked at Ashley confused but she just smiled. I shook because I knew someone was planning it again.

Zion and Dianne are also here. I am just next to Ashley because, well, I am the vice-president of this hospital.

But I don't think I know about this project? This woman was never mentioned. I was just shaken.

'' I can see that everyone is ready. '' Ashley stood up and approached the projection board.

Someone clicked it and we saw some information for our upcoming Medical mission.

'' This is the summary for our meeting. All the info is inside of your own folders. The thing is, I want us to choose now the doctors who are going to The Kingdom of Ambrosia. '' Ashley said.

Suddenly silent, I shifted my seat and looked at the others, some of them are already murmuring to each other. Zion and Dianne looked at me. I just shook my head. I don't have any idea about this.

'' But Ms.Montes, we all know that it is dangerous to send our own doctors there. Also, Monteverde Hospitals has already sent 20 nurses and doctors. We don't need to send ours too, it's risky. '' Said one of the boards.

'' I don't care, The Ambrosian Empire needs help. Also, Monteverde's already talked to me, They needed more doctors especially surgeons and pediatricians there are many kids out there who need more help. '' Ashley said.

I heard some complaints and some agreeing with this medical mission. But I gulped as I felt the tension.

'' But, how about the funds? It will cost a lot especially if many people come and they are sure they will last. '' Said one of the head surgeons.

Ashley smiled and sat down. "Well, I also have that prepared." He said so everyone whispered again.

'' What are you talking about Ashley? '' I whispered here. She just smirked at me and mouthed '' trust me. ''

"The house of Rodriguez-Sanchez of Spade Kingdom is ready to support the expenses and also, they are offering to send a navy, military soldiers and doctors of any kind to help us with this."

'' What the hell? '' I exclaimed.

'' Are you saying that the Royal House of Rodriguez-Sanchez is helping us? We heard that their two sons are part of the Spade Navy! That's amazing Ms.Montes! '' Said one of the board members.

I looked at Zion and Dianne looked at us, they mouthed at me '' Do you know about this? '' I shook my head.

I looked at Ashley in disbelief. She just avoided my gaze and went to talk with other board members.

'' What the hell Ashley ?! What are all of these ?! '' I shouted at him. The meeting was over and I immediately chased him to his office.

I dropped the folder on her desk and she just looked at me and sighed.

'' Tell me, What is this? Why is the House of Rodriguez-Sanchez helping us? '' I asked her.

She looked at me. '' Remember when you told me to call your father? '' I nodded at her.

'' He told me that he needs us to go to Syria. He needs some medical assistance and also he asked me to call the Royal House to help in the terms of militaries. He is there Amanda. '' She said.

I gulped and froze. He's there? Again?

'' What about Feline then? '' I asked.

'' He ordered Feline to come to you and tell you the news and his orders personally, He also wants Feline to be at your side to protect you especially now that someone knows you, Amanda. It's very dangerous for you to be alone. '' She said and I sat down.

'' I told him about what happened to Feline. He was angry, he is vicious Amanda, he knows that your mother did this to piss you off more. ''

'' She's getting desperate. '' I told her and I looked at her. She nodded.

'' The bad thing is, Half of your father's men are now in captivity. They want you in exchange for their lives. '' She added.

I nodded and clenched my fists. She's getting desperate. I know she wants me to sign it, she wants me to name her. And the moment she finally got it. I know, she's going to kill me.

I stood up and looked at Ashley. 

'' Take all the names of the doctors and tell them that we are leaving in two weeks tops. '' I ordered Ashley

'' I already have that organized. But how long do you want us to stay there? '' She said.

'' Us? '' She nodded. '' I am also going, My brother, Alais will be handling the hospital for a while. '' She said and I nodded.

'' Tell them, just for 6 months. '' I told her. She nodded and I left her office.

I held the bullet in the pocket of my coat.

Mother, you are really testing my patience now, you are hurting those people I tried to protect for many years.
