CHAPTER 8

‘’Do you know what a leader must do?’’ 

‘’What is it, Papa?’’

‘’It is to love, protect and treasure your people. Because in the end, A leader who is loved by its people is the one who is truly called a leader.’’

I sighed and closed my notebook and put it inside my safe. I closed it immediately when I heard the door opened and it was Ashley. 

‘’Did I not told you to knock when you enter?’’ She rolled her eyes at me and I just shook my head. 

'' I am tired! '' Ashley shouted and lay down on my bed. I sighed and put the dress in the suitcase.

'' Are you done packing? '' I asked and closed the closet. She nodded and covered her face with my pillow.

Ashley and I are at home. She told those who are going on a medical mission to get ready. Which is tonight.

We bought this house together 6 years ago when we were in our last year at Medical School. We also saved some of our extras plus her father helped. So the house we bought was also big.

I only come home here twice a week to get clothes, meanwhile, Ashley comes home after her work at the hospital.

I closed my suitcase when I put my extra shoes inside. I put it outside my room and went to my side table.

"Itzan and Izhan are already there," Ashley whispered so I frowned.

I looked at her and I saw her looking at her phone and typing. I stood up on my knees and took his cellphone from him.

'' Hey! What the heck ?! '' It stood up so I laughed.

I ran to the veranda and I heard her shouting. I read their messages and frowned.

Ashley immediately took her cellphone from me and frowned. 

I went home. "Your flirtation!" I shouted and jokingly pulled her hair. She just laughed. ‘’It is disgusting, Ashley!’’

'' How long have you been talking to him? That man is a womanizer Ashley! '' I shouted.

'' At their Party. Remember? When you danced with him? '' She said teasingly and winked at me and she went back inside.

I went inside and I shouted. '' At least I don't flirt like you! Gosh, Ashley! Don't you remember what he is? He's a freaking manwhore! '' I shouted.

"He's not anymore Amanda, he's still courting me." She said and left the room so I followed her.

'' Does your father know? '' I said. She stopped walking and looked at me. I looked at her with worried and her eyes fell.

'' You know that you have to marry someone else right? And Uncle himself will choose a man fo you. '' I told her.

She just shook her head and entered his room. I was swallowed up because I felt bad because I mentioned it.

I was shaken and took my belongings to put on the chin and put our guards in the cars.

I lowered my suitcase and was helped when our maid, Rosana suddenly approached me.She is the butler of the house. 

"Hija, Someone is looking for you." She said and took my backpack and handed it to the guard. Guest? I never heard of anyone coming.

'' Who is it? '' '' I don't know hija, but it is a woman. Blonde hair, beautiful. '' She said and I was dumbfounded. My face lifted up.

"Let her in, I'll wait here in the living room," I said and she nodded and went outside.

I ordered one of the maids to prepare a cinnamon tea which is her favorite and also a black tea which is my fave.

While we were preparing the snack, a woman suddenly entered. I smiled and stood up, I approached it and hugged him tightly.

'' I am glad that you look so well Victoria. '' I whispered. I parted with a hug and it smiled.

'' I have to visit you, Your dad ordered me to come here because of what happened to Feline, my sister. '' I saw how her face saddened thinking about Feline's situation.

Victoria is Felin's younger sister. One of my father's loyal members. I was just shaken.

'' How are you Victoria? You still look young. '' She just chuckled and drank tea.

'' Ah, cinnamon. '' She smiled. '' That's your favorite. I know you came when the butler told me he had blonde hair. '' I laughed.

He just shook his head and put down the tea. She then looked at me and to the surroundings. She smiled at me and handed me a small envelope.

I opened it and read it. It was a letter from my father again giving me a warning about my mother.

'' I thought there were only terrorist problems in Ambrosian Empire? Because of the government? '' I said. It shook.

'' Yes, it is also a terrorism problem, but it was just a cover-up for something more. Your mother is using that situation to ruin your name in Corte Royale and your father's as well. She's using it to prove that you are being irresponsible to your own role. That's why your father wants you to go there and use your profession to prove that you are not. '' I was silent about what he said.

I clenched my fists out of anger at my own mother, I can easily kill her but the consequence will be hard for me.

'' Are there people who are on his side? '' She nodded. And reached for the big folder.

This is the folder where members of the Royal Court and the Council that she provided. I asked her two months ago to investigate and give it to me.

"She's slowly taking control of those who have a big possibility to create a biochemical nuclear or some dangerous stuff."

I stopped looking at files at what it said. I put down the folder and looked at him.

'' Is that true? Where did you get that information? '' I asked.

'' From a spy. I don't know really. We were just shocked last month when someone hacked our system and totally sent us some information about what your mother was up to. '' She sighed and opened the folder and took a picture.

It was a card, saying all the plans of my mother.

'' Are we sure that is true? '' 

'' We investigated some countries that produce nuclear weapons. And yes, your mother had some transactions with them. ''

"Is she planning to create a world war?" He asked.

'' We think that she will create something bad. To turn your back on the whole Council and Corte Royal and also the Romanov, You know what will happen to you right? '' She said.

I nodded. '' They will make me give up my position . '' I said. Ashley nodded, but how can she do that? How can they do that? Are they that desperate? But Grandmother doesn't want me to give up the position, She wanted me to prove myself worthy.

''But how can she do that? My name is clean and clear as crystal. '' I said.

'' She's using your name, since you are still the head it says you are ordering her to do it all. ''

''This is getting so confusing. Grandmother doesn't want to harm me, but what is she doing right now? '' I said.

I don't know if I should believe these investigations or not. Especially, my mother. Knowing my mother, she is not the kind of woman who can easily be investigated. She likes to lure people and confuse them. I have to find it out by myself then.

'' What else do you know? '' I said and looked at the picture, it was handwritten and familiar.

'' While your mother is going into other countries. Katrina is her substitute. Poor girl, she doesn't know what she is doing. '' She shook her head so I looked at her.

'' What are you talking about? '' I asked with a frown. '' You didn't know? '' I shook my head because I don't even understand what the hell she's talking about!

'' Your mother is using her to get inside the Royal House of Spade by marrying the eldest son, Itzan. '' It said that made my world stop.

Even if I already know about it. Why is it still painful for me to hear?
