Controlled by the Luna

Have you ever wanted something so badly that your whole body hurt. You know that gaining it will feel like you can finally breath and losing it would be like dying. That's how I felt about falling in love. I see everyone in the Frontline pack finding their mate and having their pups. They are so happy and protective and my heart yearned to have that also. My 18th birthday is tomorrow and I would officially be able to find my mate. I really was looking forward to it but doubted that I would find him. I am not like the others. I am strong, great at fighting, and I guess you could say I have an attitude problem. Truth is I just don't like bullshit. I am serious and straight forward. I say it as I see it with no filter and I don't give a crap about how it makes you feel. My dad, Alpha Luther, always tells me I won't find an accepting mate with my attitude. I start to walk to the training grounds to do my morning exercise when I see someone running my way. "Hey Skye wait up" It was David, my best friend. He's a good looking guy with dirty blonde hair, blue eyes, massive muscles, and a smile that could melt your heart. To bad he had a mate already. He is a year older than me and found his mate while visiting another pack. "You coming to training today?" I ask him. "Ya I need a break from Mel's mom, she keeps pestering me about pups..." I laugh at him and start to walk again. It takes 10 minutes to walk from the packhouse to the training grounds. "Soooo your birthday is tomorrow are you planning on doing something special?" "Nope" "No? Why the hell not? Your family isn't planning you a party or anything?" "If they were I wouldn't go. I don't want to spend my birthday hearing about how my attitude will destroy the pack, I will never find a mate, and how I don't act like a Luna should." "Well you don't act like a Luna, more like an Alpha, but I don't think that will keep you from finding a mate... The Godess will give you a mate I'm sure of it. He will just have to be extremely easy going as to not get offended when you talk hahaha." "That is not funny. As long as he isn't stupid we should be fine." When we arrive to the training grounds I put my long black hair up into a bun so it doesn't get in the way and begin stretching. Gamma Matt is getting ready to put us to work. "Before we get started today I would like to introduce you to Alpha James, who will be here for a few days helping out Alpha Luther with the construction of the new packhouse. He is also going to be training with us while he is here." "Hello everyone, it's a pleasure to be working beside you all." I turn when I heard his voice and looked right into the most beautiful pair of gray eyes I have ever seen. His black hair fell around his shoulders and his clothes looked as though if he moved they would rip apart. I was staring at him and he was staring back. Slowly he took his eyes off me to begin stretching. My mouth was dry and all I could do is gulp big breaths of air. He had to be the most beautiful man I had ever seen. David elbowed me and brought me back to earth. I started running with everyone for our 10 mile run. I kept glancing at Alpha James but he never looked at back at me. After the run we did our team sparring for a hour. David and I always sparred together and I usually always beat him but not today. I was far to distracted and he punched me in the face. I heard the crack as my nose broke. Gamma Matt came running over to look at me and told me to go to the clinic to get it reset. David walked with me apologizing. Dr. Wyatt reset my nose telling me to be more careful and sent me on my way. As David and I walked back to the packhouse he started to question me. "I'm so sorry Skye." "Don't be it was my fault I wasn't paying attention." "Why, you are usually very focused when it comes to training." "I don't know I guess I was distracted." "By what?" "Well.... to be honest Alpha James..." "Was he doing something weird?" "No" "Funny?" "No" "I'm confused Skye, what did he do that distracted you?" "He didn't DO anything, it was just him being there. Now stop with the 20 questions you are irritating me." David sighed but dropped the subject. We split up at the packhouse to go shower before lunch. I got to my room and went to the bathroom and ran the shower, I need to get my s**t together. Yes Alpha James is amazing looking but he was also older than me and an Alpha. He would never be interested in someone like me. I would just avoid him that should stop the distractions.
