The Nurse

Chloe’s POV “Marry him” Mr. White said and my jaw couldn’t help but drop. I had been Mr. White’s nurse for two years now. We have becoming very close and I look at this dear old man as more of a grandfather than a boss. When I first came to work for Mr. White I did not realize who he was or just how important he was. Mr. White was the owner and CEO of White enterprise and here was asking me to marry his grandson, and soon to be CEO of White enterprise, Kade White. Kade was every woman’s dream 6’ 3” with a perfectly sculpted body, he had dark hair that was always styled to perfection and piercing blue eyes. Over the years of working for his grandfather I have come to know Kade well. He is cold, arrogant and rude, the opposite of his grandfather who is the kindest man I have ever met. “Grandfather you know I can’t do that” I said still feeling a bit of shock from his request. “He needs a strong woman like you by his side when he takes my place as CEO of the company” grandfather said his voice gentle and kind. “He is with Stella, grandfather, he would never leave her for someone like me.” Stella Rose is a famous supermodel and the fiancé of Kade White. They have been together since I first started working for Mr. White. Mr. White had informed Kade just weeks ago that if he wanted to take over his grandfathers company he would have to be married first. Kade proposed to Stella just days after grandfather told him that. “She is no good for him dear you know that as well as I do” grandfather said “she is only with him for his money nothing more” Grandfather never likes Stella. Although Kade insisted they were in love grandfather always felt she had ill intentions. “He will never leave her though grandfather, he will never see her for what she truly is” I said to him with a slight pang of pain in my chest. My feelings for Kade gave always been mixed he was rude and arrogant and it infuriated me but I also cared for him in way I couldn’t explain, and I know he would eventually be hurt by Stella if he stayed. “ I will take care of her” grandfather said and my brows furrowed a bit curious of what grandfather had planned. “What are you going to do to get rid of her, grandfather?” I asked “You will see shortly dear, she will be arriving any minute now go hide in the next room and don’t come out until I say” he said to me. Confused at what he was talking about I did as grandfather said. Next thing I knew I head a knock at the door and Stella’s voice greeting grandfather “Grandfather” Stella said in her cheery voice that was also laced with irritation “to what do I owe this pleasure of you calling me here” “Stella” grandfather said his time firm getting straight to the point “we all know you do not love my grandson, we also know that you and I are not fans of one another so let’s just cut the act and get to the point. I want you to leave the country, leave grandson and never come back.” “Why would I do that grandfather?” Stella scoffed “Because we both know you are with him for his money and I will pay you to leave him and never come back” grandfather said pulling out his checkbook “name you price. Stella stood there for a moment thinking before replying “fifty million dollars and you will never see or hear from me again she said with an evil smirk. Grandfather never glanced up from his checkbook he simply filled out the check signed it and handed it to Stella with a stern glare before saying “leave tonight and do not return, do not mention any of this my grandson and do not tell him you are leaving, just go.” “As you wish, grandfather” Stella said with that evil smirk still on her face “you will never see or hear from me again.” And with those final words Stella rush out of the house giddy with excitement about her new found fortune. I entered back into the room with an expression of shock as I asked grandfather “what if she keeps the money and tells Kade what you have done” grandfather told me not to worry as his men will be escorting Miss Ross straight to the airport and she will be on the next flight out. That next day grandfather informed me that Kade would be joining us for dinner. He told me to go get dressed up as he will be proposing the marriage of me and Kade that evening at dinner. I was a bundle of nerves as I went to my room to get ready for the evening. “Will Kade be upset about his fiancé leaving? Will he blame grandfather? Would he even agree to marry someone like me?” I asked myself as I stood in the shower letting the warm water wash my nerves away. I stepped out of the shower and started getting ready I pinned my curly blonde hair up into a loose updo and put on some light makeup. I then stepped into a beautiful fitted red dress that went just above my knee and hugged my curves perfectly. I then put on a pair of sleek black heels and a simple necklace to finish the look. After examining myself in the mirror and feeling satisfied with my appearance I went to join grandfather in the dining hall to wait for Kade.
