Mosi breathed a sigh of relief after hearing what Elisa said. The fact that he had finally missed a day of work after 3 years had been weighing down on him.He had wanted to go talk to Mr. Fernandez personally yesterday or even today. But his grandma hadn’t allowed him. She said that he needed to concentrate on his development from now on.
“Thank you grandma. I was feeling guilty about leaving the farm without notifying Mr. and Mrs. Fernandez. They have been very attentive towards us since our parents died.”
“Don’t worry Mosi. I’ll speak to them. After all, now that your grandma is here there is no need for you to work do such menial labor. You are a very important person even if you are not aware of that yet.”
“Grandma will I be able to say goodbye to my friends and teacher?”
“Do you want to? You’ll never see them again. You are about to enter a completely different world. It can be said that you’ll enter a world within this world. They on the other hand will most likely never be able to leave this world. They’ll forever be under the control of the forces of evil.”
“I won’t do it if you tell me not to, but I would like to say goodbye if you allow me to. Even if we’ll start living on different worlds from now on. They were my friends on this world.”
“Very well then. If you manage to read the whole book I’ll give you and learn it before school ends on friday I’ll take you there to say goodbye.”
“Thank you grandma! I’ll definitely learn the whole book before friday! I’ll make you proud to have me as your grandson and disciple!”
“I’d also like to say goodbye to Mr. and Mrs. Fernandez if that’s okay. I think Teo should come too since they always ask about him.”
“The same applies to you. Study hard and if you finish and learn the book by saturday we’ll go to the farm so you can see them and talk to them one last time before leaving with me to the safe house.”
“We’ll be leaving to the safehouse on saturday then?”
“No. I did say we’d leave in a week’s time. So on sunday right after eating our fruit we’ll leave.”
After everyone finished eating Elisa got out to books out of nowhere. She didn’t check her bag or anything of the sort. Both books simply appeared in her hand. She looked meaningfully at both brothers before handing them their copies.
“This that I’m giving you are the secret teachings of our sect. It’s not complete since our teachings wouldn’t fit in less than 10 books like this one. However this is the first book of many you’ll need to study.”
“Just as the summary I gave you yesterday this book is an entryway to our world. It contains information that must never be revealed to outsiders. Even if those outsiders are people like us, if they belong to other sects you must not disclose anything you read in them.”
“By receiving this book you are accepting this. You accept that you will keep the secrets of our sect. That you’ll never teach them to outsiders. You accept that you’ll become guardians of our knowledge.”
“I won’t have you swear or make any oath regarding this since after all you are two are my own blood. But you must understand that every single sect member has gone through a lot of trouble to acquire this knowledge.”
“Not only do they have to show their sincerity and become an initiate in our sect or school. They also have to work very hard in learning this teachings and help the sect in different ways.”
“You two will receive private tutoring from me in the coming years. I’ll pass on everything I know to you two officially making you heirs to my knowledge. I do this with the intention that you’ll inherit my position as sect leader at some point in the future.”
Elisa while saying this kept thinking. I hope I can do a better job with these two youngsters than I did with my own daughter. She ran away because of me, and now because of me she is dead. Our bloodline was almost broken. I can’t allow anymore mistakes but at the same time I need to work them hard. Specially Mosi since he is far from the ideal starting age.
“So, do you two agree to what I’ve just said?”
Teo felt the impulse to kneel before his grandma. He didn’t know where it came from. Maybe from all the novels he had read? Maybe he instinctively knew? He wasn’t sure but he also thought it wasn’t important where it came from. His body simply moved on its own.
He stood up from his spot on the table and walked closer to his grandma where he kowtowed to pay his respects. His voice rang out with a seriousness he didn’t normally have
“This Teo greets his master.” He stood in that position without saying anything else like waiting for something. Because he was kneeling and looking at the floor he couldn’t see the expressions on his grandma’s and brother's faces.
Elisa was amazed. She knew that this was part of the ancient ritual of accepting a master and waiting for the master’s acceptance of their new disciple. However nobody had taught the kid what to do, and she hadn’t asked it of him either.
She stood up from the chair and kneeled in front of Teo. Grabbed his arm under his armpit and helped him stand while she stood up as well.
“I, Elisa, this master of yours; will pass on everything I know so that you may become a greater existence than what I managed to be. I welcome you, Teo, as my first disciple.”
After Elisa said this a bright white light shined from where she was touching Teo. From her right hand and to his left armpit a flow of energy passed through.
Mosi was the most astounded by all this. He had also felt like something was missing. Like he needed to do something and that he somehow knew but couldn’t quite pinpoint what it was. However he didn’t pay attention to this. While he was processing everything Elisa had said his brother just went ahead to perform a ritual and he realized that this ritual was what was missing!
This little rascal went ahead of me! He became the first disciple but I’m the elder brother! Mosi was laughing internally while he was thinking this.
He didn’t waste anymore time and decided to emulate his little brother. He stood up, walked up to his grandma and kowtowed as well.
“This Mosi greets his master.”
“I, Elisa, this master of yours; will pass on everything I know so that you may become a greater existence than what I managed to be. May you protect your little brother and become an example for him. I welcome you, Mosi, as my second disciple.”
After this happened a white light shined as well, though not as bright or intense as the first one. Mosi felt a surge of power enter through his armpit and straight towards his heart. It felt refreshing but at the same time it was an electrical feeling. Slightly painful but not quite.
After standing back up he realized that Teo was still dazed after standing up. Like he was frozen in time.
Teo inside his head was open mouthed. He couldn’t understand what just happened. His body had moved on its own and his mouth had spoken without him meaning too. He was still unable to control his body again. When he thought about how weird this was he suddenly felt like he was going back into his body.
He was now in control again but he felt very weak. As if he had run a marathon or practiced yoga all over again.
