“Well kids, I must say I was expecting that. That was an ancient ritual that has been practiced for over 8000 to 13000 years at least. If it started before that we don’t have records of it.”
“How did you come to know of it Teo? Was it something you read in your books and novels?”
“Well brother, I can’t say I haven’t read of similar things in the novels. Especially the oriental ones show of something that’s practically the same thing.” Teo was uncertain if he should tell them about what happened to him or not.
Unfortunately for him Elisa noticed that something was up so he couldn’t hide it in the end even if he had wanted to.
“What is it Teo? You seem conflicted.”
Teo looked at his grandma with a complex look in his eyes. “Since you noticed there is no point in hiding it I guess. Besides if I tell you, you might know of it.”
Teo then proceeded to tell them both of what had happened after Elisa had told them about the books and the secret knowledge. How his body moved on its own. How he felt he had lost control of his body and how at the end his mouth spoke out those words without him meaning too.
Both Mosi and Elisa were speechless for a couple of minutes.
“So you say that you lost control of your body but you were still aware of everything?”
“Yes, that’s right grandma. It was as if I was a witness inside my body. I could see everything I was doing but couldn’t change or control it in any way.”
Could it be soul possession?! This... This is a ridiculously advanced technique. Did his soul take over. But why? He hasn’t done any training, hasn’t awakened any of his chakras. I’ve never known of anyone who could do this technique with less than the 7 bodily chakras awakened. That is the minimum requisite.
“What else did you feel? How do you feel now?”
“I feel very tired. As if we had done another round of yoga practice all over again. I’m a bit sleepy too but that doesn’t make sense because I practically just woke up. It’s only been a couple of hours since Mosi woke me up.”
Tired and sleepy? If it really was soul possession it wouldn’t surprise me even if he passed out and spent a week or more unconscious. However he’s still awake and talking. Should I let him sleep or should I push him to start studying before I leave?
“Do you feel you’ll be able to start reading the book I gave you after I leave? Or would you rather sleep a while to rest and recover?”
“I think I could read. Reading doesn’t involve me moving around or doing physical effort. I should be able to start reading and studying the book you gave me grandma. Besides it appears to be a long book. If I have to finish reading and learning it by friday to say goodbye to my friends and teacher then I need to start now to make use of the time I have.”
“Reading and learning this book won’t be tiring for your body but it will be very tiring for your mind. You sure you are up to it? I’m sure Mosi won’t have an issue waking you up in an hour or two if you decide to rest before reading.”
“It’s true Teo, I can wake you up in a while no problem! Even if you became the first disciple leaving me with being the second one this elder brother of yours is not mad and will help you!” Mosi hit his chest with his hand to show his dependability and manliness.
Kid... If you say it like that it’s obvious that you're mad. Even if it’s only a little bit. But it appears that your love for brother allows you to ignore this feeling.
“I’m sure I want to start reading it! I want to become a magician as soon as possible. I’ve always dreamt about it and now that I have the chance in front of me I’ll do all I can to become one!”
“Okay then. I’ll leave you two to start reading while I go meet the school authorities and the owners of the farm. I’ll be back in a couple of hours to prepare lunch. In the meantime be sure to study hard. Besides the books I gave you here you have a notebook to take notes. I suggest you note down everything you find particularly interesting.”
“Remember that the only thing you two need to do this week is read the whole book and learn all of it!”
“Yes grandma! I’ll be sure to take the best notes! Can Mosi and I discuss the book? Or is this supposed to be done on our own?”
“You can do it however way you want. Usually everyone will work on this on their own. But you two have a very peculiar and interesting situation. I believe it might be better if your do it together and help each other out. Besides people usually learn quicker when they get to discuss what they are studying.”
“I’m going now, don’t waste time and start right away!”
Both brothers were left alone in the house and looked at each other.
“Where should we start reading then? The living room? You usually read there in the sofa during the day, don’t you Teo?”
“The living room is fine if we are only going to read, but it might not be very comfortable fi we are supposed to take notes.”
“Wouldn’t it be better if we just read for an hour or two and then we move to the table to discuss and take notes?”
“I guess it would be more comfortable that way. Let’s try it then! We read for two hours and then we discuss for 1 hour at the most. Take notes and go back to reading. If we keep this schedule based on my reading experience we should be able to finish this book by friday morning at the latest.”
“But if we finish on friday morning you might not have enough time to visit school. Would that be ok?”
“I believe we’ll be finished by thursday actually. But it’s best to give ourselves some leeway. If we finish on friday before noon I’ll still have time to go to school.” Teo smiled after saying this. He motioned his brother to follow him to the living room.
“Come brother! Let’s start! The sooner we start the better! Let’s become magicians! I wonder what kind of fabulous information we’ll find in this book that grandma gave us.”
“Very well little brother! I know this has always been your dream so allow this elder brother of yours to accompany you on your journey!”
Both brothers then walked to the living and sat on opposing sofas. Teo as always laid down on the two-seater sofa that they had. He always read lying down using then cushions as pillows.
Mosi sat on the reclining sofa. This was their father’s favorite resting spot and Mosi had always liked it very much. Although Teo liked it as well he respected his elder brother’s right to have first pick on the spot. Since Mosi had always liked this one best Teo just got used to using the other sofa, which was no less comfy.
