CHAPTER 16

Instead of sleeping last night, I was up all night wondering how I am going to break the news to Maney and Charlie, that I will most likely be leaving before they do… It got that extreme I end up jumping out my window and letting my wolf out for a run in the forest, this was the first time she had ever been out.

Completely feeling free and clear in my mind with what I need to do I head back to my window and shift back into my human and chuck on my clothes that I left outside and climb back in my window, to get ready for my school day.

“Baby girl are you ready?” dad yells through my door.

“Already downstairs dad.” I say

He come flying down the stairs and puts his hand on my head, like he was checking for a temperature.

“I’m not sick dad, I just couldn’t sleep.” I say exhaustedly

“What are you worried about Princess?”

“Well everything, school finishes in a bit under 2 months and I have to make a decision to leave the life I know and become a Luna with my mate before or after I finish high school, and the two people I really want opinions from I can’t even tell them why!” I say while tearing up.

Dad comes over and gives me a big hug, I hear Lilly come down-stairs, so we pull away.

“Good Morning Carter, how are you feeling?” Lilly says

“Morning Lilly, I’ve been better that’s for sure.” I say while grabbing my coffee and eating my breakfast.

Lilly looks at dad and he just shrugs his shoulders not knowing what to say or do. Lilly gives me a Sympathetic smile “After school would you like to have a little chat Carter? I know I am not your mum nor will I ever be or your friends who you can’t tell things to, but I will always be here if you need any advice. Especially when it comes to leaving you home for a mate.” She says trying to get me to give her a chance, so I smile back.

“Actually Lilly, that would be great if we could.” I see hope light up in her eyes.

“Well, I better get to school don’t want to be late.” “Bye love you” I say running out the door and jumping on to my bike and speeding off down the road.

I get to school in no time I find Maney and Charlie waiting for me as usual out the front with big grins on their faces.

“Morning Carter! How was the rest of your birthday?” Charlie says

“It was great guys. it was truly the best birthday ever! You guys definitely made most of it!” I say trying not to have to go into detail.

“Were glad we got to help make your day special Carter.” Maney says while giving me a big hug.

“ Well I guess we should head in don’t want to be late for class again.” I say with a giggle.

We walk in to school side by side as usual and make our way towards our lockers, everyone turns and stares at us which was kind of weird, they said hello to both Maney and Charlie some even said hello to me which was a total mind blow. I guess because they all know that I mean something to Luna and Alpha so they will show some respect towards me now, but I don’t buy it as a friendship.

I spot Kevin and Evan near my locker and this time I don’t dread it ending badly however, Maney and Charlie still haven’t been told were on good terms now.

“What do you want? Can’t you guys just leave her alone for once! Like seriously its only 1 month until schools over give her a break!” Maney says stepping in front of me.

“Chill dude! Were on good terms now!” Kevin says stepping in front of Evan.

“So, you’re not going to upset my best friend again?!” Maney replies with a confused but not buying it face.

I suddenly get this amazing smell of the Ocean with a hit of musk and I freeze. Oh no…

“What do you mean upset her again?” Sebastian says with anger in his voice. Maney turns around gives him a once over and faces Kevin and Evan waiting for them to respond.

“Look everyone can just chill out. I’m fine it’s old news. Can we just get on with our day?” I say trying to avoid any method of violence today.

Everyone looks at me then go into like a death stare with each other.

“Hi, it’s nice to meet you, I am Charlie, and this is Maney I take it you already know Carter?” she says giving me an arched eyebrow.

“Nice to finally put a name to the face’s Carter has told me so much about. I’m Sebastian Carters ma…” I cut him off before he can say anymore that could make me have to explain more to them “Boyfriend” “Sebastian is my boyfriend.” He smiles at the fact I called him my boyfriend I can see his wolf jumping for joy in his eyes.

Everyone and I mean everyone stop’s and stares at me in disbelief that I just said I had a boyfriend. “OH MY GOD!! You didn’t think to tell us that outside when we asked about the rest of your birthday!” both Maney and Charlie scream in like I happy, thank god sort of way.

“It honestly slipped my mind; I have had a lot on it the last few days.” I say avoiding any eye contact.

“Carter Morgan you have so much to fill us in on!” Maney says excitedly then turns to Sebastian with a different expression.

“I swear Sebastian if Carter ever tells me you have hurt her in any way, I will hunt you down and use every damn move that girl has taught me and kick your ass!” I am gobsmacked at what is happening in front of my eyes, the fact my best friend has enough balls to threaten two Alpha is beyond me.

Sebastian just smiles “I’m glad Carter has someone like you that has her back, I promise if I ever do anything wrong to Carter, I will let you beat me until you are satisfied with my punishment.” He puts his hand out to make a deal with Maney, which he gladly shakes.

“Great! Now are you coming to school here for just 1 month or and you just kindly seeing how your lover is?” he says with a total new expression towards Sebastian.

“Actually, I finished high school last year, I just came to wish Carter a good day and see if she was free after it?” he says to Maney and looks at me.

Again, all eyes are on me… “Ah, yeah sure sounds good.” I say and he smiles, gives everyone a nod goodbye and goes to leave.

“You can’t leave her without giving her a hug!” Charlie adds which makes him stop and look at me as if to say are you sure, I nod, and he comes over and gives me a much-needed hug that felt so amazing I could stay like this forever. He lets go which makes my wolf howl in my head as she wanted the touch of our mate to last longer.

The bell rings that signals for everyone to head to class, Sebastian gives me a gentle kiss on my forehead and tells me to have a good day and takes his leave after saying goodbye to the rest. I don’t think I have ever seen Charlie and Maney so happy before, I guess they may take this better than I thought…
