CHAPTER 17

Thankfully I only had my first class with Kevin, so I had some time to plan for the 21 questions both Maney and Charlie are bound to ask me at lunch.

“Hey Carter.” Kevin whispers as he decided to sit next to me. I look up at him.

“Hey Kevin.” I respond waiting for him to go on.

“How do you feel about a regular training session every morning at yours until you decide to leave?” he asked with a slight sadness in his voice.

“Sounds good to me, I think my dad will be happy he doesn’t have to drag me out of bed if I’m training.” I say curious as to why Kevin seems sad about me leaving.

“Really? I really appreciate this Carter you have no idea how much!” he says with excitement. “Do you know when you might leave? Are you going to finish high school with us or?”

“Honestly Kevin, I don’t really know what I am going to do now.”

“What do you mean?” he askes

“Well my main reason was I wanted to spend more time with dad, because I didn’t want him to be lonely or by himself…. Now, he has Lilly I feel confident he will be okay when I do… I know Maney and Charlie are both leaving to different college’s that I was prepared for them to leave me… Now that I need to leave them, I’m not so sure how or when I can. They mean everything to me Kevin.” I say getting or teary eyed, Kevin notices and brings me in for a hug.

“Honestly Carter, you have a heart of gold and those two are lucky to have a friend like you. I think after this morning and seeing how relieved they were that you had a ‘boyfriend’ they might have been feeling the same as you are now. I know you can’t explain everything to them but what you can I think they will understand and will support you in every decision you make.” Kevin says. I didn’t know he had so much wise words in him.

I smile at him and we get back to our schoolwork as we don’t have long left.

The bell rang for our lunch hour and I still hadn’t worked out how to tell them everything. We got our lunch like normal and went and sat outside under our favourite tree, I thought it was weird they hadn’t asked anything but as soon as I sat down out came the questions.

“Okay you have 1 whole hour to tell us everything now go!” Charlie says, Maney just nods his agreement while stuffing his face.

“Okay well, turns out Evans mother and Father are my God Parents so now that it’s known to people that’s why they are being nice, Evan I guess is my God brother?” I start.

“Evans parents held a small gathering with their closest friends on my birthday which dad insisted we attend. I met Sebastian there and we hit it off straight up, we had been seeing each other ever since, it’s not even that serious guys really.” I finish off trying my hardest not to have to tell too much.

“Really 1 whole hour and you give us the short story?” Maney states

“Hey, I want to eat my food to you know.” I say

“Well Carter we bot approve; did you see how he went to defend you! That’s so romantic!” Charlie says

“Yeah I guess you could say he is a bit of the old-fashioned kind, chivalry all the way.” I say with a smile.

They both nod with smiles. Which has me curious. “what are you guys smiling about?”

“Oh, nothing Carter, just how much you like him is all, were just happy that you will have someone when we leave!” Charlie says.

“Yeah about that guys, I have to talk to you about something else.” I say deciding to just go for it. They both stop and listen

“Sebastian and his Family have asked me to move 5 hours away to where they live, to attend a college there, it’s one of the top colleges going around which I would never have been able to get into on my own.” I start to tear up.

“Oh, that’s amazing Carter!” Charlie says with excitement Maney smiles in agreement.

“I know, the only problem is, if I take up their offer, I will need to finish off high school well in under a month, to be precise I have 1 week to make my decision.” I feel my tears escape my eyes.

“Oh, Carter don’t cry! This is an amazing opportunity! You’re so far in front in schooling you could easily take the exams now and pass. There is no decision to make Carter you’re going to sit these exams in 1 week then we will have a massive going away party for you, and you will go and live your life just like how we will in a month.” Maney says trying to reassure me.

“I don’t want to leave you guys so soon! I was prepared for you both to leave me not the other way around!”

“Carter remember your birthday?” Charlie says I nod.

“Then no matter what we will always be here for each other no matter what! When the time come’s we will deal with it and we will face time and drive to see each other when we can. It doesn’t mean you’re leaving us completely! We will always be here for one another.” Charlie says and gives me a big hug.

“I love you guys!” “we love you too.” They both say.

We head back in to finish off our last few classes for the day, when the last bell rings we meet up say our goodbyes and head out the front, completely forgetting I agreed to hang out with Sebastian I notice Grace and Stacey are standing near my bike.

“Hey, Future Luna how was school?” Grace says

“Better than expected that’s for sure.” I respond

“Sebastian forgot to grab your number this morning and figured you had your car with you so we came to tell you he is meeting you at your place so you can take your car home. I won’t tell him you actually ride a neat looking bike though he can work that out himself.” She says with a big smile on her face.

“Oh, sweet even better.” I laugh. “here” I say and give the girls my number “Now you can message me instead of having to come all this way for me.” I smile.

“Honestly, Stacey wanted to see Kevin again, so we volunteered” Grace says with a smirk on her face.

“Well, Stacey you are in luck as they have football training around the back.” I give her a wink.

“Perfect! See you later Carter! Have fu with my brother!” and they were off. I hopped onto my bike and road home, and there he was in all his glory standing beside his car looking a little annoyed, I can only image what Grace is coping right now. So, I do my favourite thing of pissing people off and Smile at him.

“You know how dangerous riding a bike like that is?” Sebastian says annoyed.

“I sure do, but it is only dangerous to those that don’t know how to ride it my dear boyfriend.” I say with a smirk on my face.

“Since you said it like that, I will let you off for riding a bike.” He gives me a wink.

“Great where are we going?” I ask.

“That’s a surprise drop your stuff inside, your dad went out with Lilly.”

“Okay give me a second.” I say and unlock the door and drop off my stuff.
