Laura left George to watch the horses while Amy and Seth assisted her to escort the eight prisoners into the compound. Laura was wary, her eyes darting around uncomfortably as they were led into the cool, dark interior of the school. Rebecca appeared, and for the first time Laura saw her fully, without the cloak covering. Laura paled, and stepped back as though she had been pushed.
Amy’s eyes had been drawn to the blond man who was trailing behind Rebecca. Their eyes had locked across the foyer, and neither seemed to be able to look away.
Rebecca circled the prisoners slowly, reaching out to poke and pinch a bicep here and there. The eight men, particularly Hank, fought against their restraints, and seemed to be furiously swearing up a storm, but
