Bert and Hank decided to spread their sleeping mats down by the river, close to their boat. They intended to leave at first light to continue their journey.
Laura was restless and uneasy. George had left them to spend the night with his lover, and Amy found some young people to hang out with, and was sleeping at their camp fire for the night.
