Chapter 1
I was hitting the barrier. Over and over, I was feeling weak. I knew it wasn’t me.
She was the one. She was slipping away and I couldn’t see. I couldn’t hear.
It’s your fault. You couldn’t protect her. You’re worthless. You don’t deserve her.
She screamed as the knife pierced through her. I felt it. All the damn pain and my body couldn’t take it. I fell on my knees. She was screaming and I couldn’t do a damn thing.
‘Aaaaaaaaa.’
I woke up and shot up from the bed. It was the same old nightmare. I cleaned the tears that were already formed in my eyes.
I sighed as I got down from the bed to wear a robe.I guess no sleeping for the night again.I opened my mind link. I read my beta’s message. He reminded me of the Council meeting.I scanned through the mind link. I saw my mom’s message.
‘Laura’s been asking of you. She hasn’t eaten anything since day before yesterday. I thought it was her usual tantrums bought she won’t even leave her room. I felt her and realized she’s having a fever. Please come back. She wouldn’t even allow the doctor to check her and her wolf side is really weak.’
I sighed.
I’ve not been home for the past 1 week. I went to The Blue Moon’s pack for the yearly pack meeting with the alphas. The alpha’s meeting as it’s usually called normally takes place in my pack, The Wolf’s pack but for my daughter’s security I cancelled that custom. We are having the alpha’s party tomorrow where I’ll grace the blessing of all packs.
I pondered deep. I know my daughter, Laura. She’s stubborn to the core and though I face this every year, last year’s scared me. She attempted suicide. Though I’ve made her promise not to try such, my daughter’s a wild cat.
‘Come to my room.’
I mind linked Connor, my beta.I went to my study and started going through some pack’s document. I heard his knocking.
‘Enter’
‘Greetings sire.’
He bowed his head in total submission. Though my beta is stronger than any living alpha, I’m the Alpha King, so my power is ten times his.
‘We’re leaving in the next one hour. Get our things ready.'
‘Yes, sire.’
He nodded in response. This is exactly the reason Connor is indispensable. He knows when to talk and when not to. He also knows how to handle my matters and doesn’t bring irrelevant up to me. He could be a huge jerk though when his mouth starts pouring.

‘Sire, we’ve not yet......'
The two guards standing started feeling indescribable pain. They were screaming and gnashing their teeth.
‘You were saying’
The person they regarded as Sire said darkly. His eyes started flashing red.
‘We’ll return to our search.’
He smirked evilly as he watched them skip away. He’s been searching for her since the past 5 years. He must find her.He engulfed his hands in anger. They should not even bother giving up because he hasn’t and would never.
‘The prophesy must not be fulfilled.’
He hit the table in anger.
'I will find you soon'
He suddenly started laughing very darkly in a very sinister way.
