Chapter 35

1082 Words
Silas’s POV “What do you think I should have done, huh?” I poured down the tequila, sucking some lime alongside while my friend patted my back. “But seriously, do you still want to take her back?” Dorian asked, staring at me while I took a shot again. “Abel has done all he could, Dorian. Yet people kept calling off the deals with me. I’m so lost, buddy.” I belched, taking another shot. “Guy, why not ask Morgan—” “Do not ever mention that i***t in front of me again! She’s so useless!” I lashed out, while the rest of my friends troupe in almost immediately. Not just alone, but they came with ladies who were half naked, ready to make the night a remarkable one. Right now, I’m not even concerned about anything or anyone, other than Jade. I’ve been seeing her more often in my dreams. And even while I’m staring at these ladies, all I could see was Jade’s face. “I thought you’d always loved, Morgan. Did anything change?” Ethan questioned, settling beside him with Gabriel and the rest of the girls. “C’mon, let them treat you to–” “Gabriel, stop. I’m not in the mood!” I raged, trying hard not to punch him in the face because he’s one of the guys who has been f*****g Morgan. I had known for quite a while, but since I’m aware that Morgan has nothing to offer me, I wasn’t concerned about her. Morgan was useless not just to me but to everyone around. “What’s going on with you? Did you have a clash with Morgan?” Gabriel smiled mockingly. “I bet she tasted good, yeah?” I said jokingly, anger etched in my voice. But Gabriel, who seemed absent-minded, answered and was immediately met with a slap. “Jesus, Silas!” Dorian stepped in, taking my hands off before I do something we all will regret. Everyone’s eyes remain fixed on us while Gabriel wipes off the blood stain on his lips. “Guys, what’s going on with you both?” Dorian and Ethan chorused, their eyes flickering from me back to Gabriel, who doesn’t seem to give a f**k. I’ve always known him to be promiscuous, but what I never imagined was him going behind my back to f**k my own woman! What insolence. “You bastard!” I snapped, my chest rising and falling while I took the tequila bottle, and bolted out of their midst to settle down on another table. “Silas!” Dorian called after me, but I refused to answer. I was too broken from their games. My phone buzzes at every interval, while I try as much as possible to ignore them all. I was already running bankrupt, and honestly, I have no idea what to do or how to make all my business partners come back. “C’mon Silas—” Raising my hand, refraining Dorian from speaking more…“Dorian, please. Can I be left alone?” “I’m sorry, buddy, but I cannot do that.” He replied, running his hand through my hair before taking his seat. “...Wait a minute…” Dorian stuttered, tapping my hand gently while I found it very annoying… “Isn’t that Jade?” A frown settled on my face while I tried to affirm what he had said. And to my surprise, it really was Jade. She wasn’t alone, though, but with a woman who looked like someone in her mid-thirties. And oh my God! “She’s f*****g hot!” Dorian ran his hand through his hair before adding, “Has she always been this hot?” “Seriously, man. You really f****d up.” Dorian spoke slowly, but it hurt. I stared at my phone and realised I was half ruined. Some of my workers were already threatening to quit their jobs. It was almost Christmas, and honestly, I have no idea how to pay their salaries. “Isn’t she a Steele?” Dorian continued while I held my breath, trying hard not to burst out. “C’mon, buddy, drop your ego and ask them for help.” “She’s no longer a Steele.” I shrugged, pouring down more drinks. I dropped the cup, my gaze suddenly meeting hers, but she was quick to look away. My heart skipped, stopping at every beat. I felt a lump in my throat, one I couldn’t even push back. My heart ached so much, my head was all fuzzy, making it hard for me to think straight. “I think she saw me,” I said, concisely. “What do you think we should do…” “I don’t know, Dorian.” “I think she’s dancing with some other guy,” Dorian tapped me, raising his finger for me to take a look. At first, I tried not to be concerned, but not until this man started caressing her behind. Gosh! I can’t take it anymore. Someone touching a woman I’m legally married to… “Ain’t you going to—oh, sorry. I forgot you both are not together anymore,” he responded. I looked away, taking another bottle of tequila, trying hard to mind my business. By now, I was already getting drunk after this shot. My eyes were getting blurry, but that doesn’t mean I couldn’t see that Jade was struggling with the man who was dancing with her. Her friend doesn’t seem to be around anymore. I picked a bottle of tequila, aiming for this stranger, when Dorian took the bottle away from me. “Use your fist, man. You’ve got enough problems at hand already.” Before I could interfere, I watched Jade turn the man’s hand behind, picking him off the floor, and slamming him against the tiled floor, leaving people amused. Gasps left their lips in fear; they all couldn’t believe a slimy creature like her could do something like that. My heart raced faster while I approached gently. “Who are you, and what the heck do you want from me?!” She charged, raising the guy’s head while the security stood on standby. My eyes flickered to the guy’s arms, and to my surprise, I recognised the tattoo on his arms. As drunk as I was, I could tell these were Morgan’s men. “Morgan is trying to kill Jade?” The words left my lips in whispers.
