“I don't understand what you mean by that. Jaxon saved me and brought me to the hospital.” I answered firmly, confusion etched on my face, my phone still pressed to my ear.
Silence stretched between us for a moment, making me question every second.
“Mmmm, maybe I was just…”
“Hello? John, can you hear me?” I called, waiting for a response from the other end, but none came.
“I'm sorry, ma'am. I mean, he saved you, so I think I'm just assuming things.” He responded before hanging up the call with the statement. “I’ll get back to you, boss.”
I ran my hand through my hair, wondering what it was Silas had gotten himself involved in. Why would anyone want to kidnap him? Except—
My phone buzzed again, causing me to check where the message was coming from this time around.
