Silas’s POV
Five years have passed, and I couldn't help but start to regret some of my decisions.
The most painful part was discovering that the Steele family had only wanted to use me for the rise of their own family.
“Interesting…” I smirked, flipping through the files in front of me.
Just then, the door flew open revealing Morgan dressed all sassy and a bit saucy. No doubt she was still as attractive as she had been for the past five years, but my love for her had diminished.
I heaved a sigh, dropping the files I was holding to behold her face for a second.
Her porcelain curvy skin blended so well with the red short gown she was in. The black heels matched her designer bag, and her bangle earrings, which were shining so bright even in the cool space.
I felt a bit nostalgic, because I had asked the security not to f*****g open the door to her during working hours again.
“Baby, ain't you happy to—”
“Morgan, what are you doing here? I think I've asked you to stay away from the workspace?” I lashed out, not minding if the security could hear us.
The past five years have been hectic for me. I've been struggling to hold my company together, thanks to Morgan and her father who were using me to their advantage.
Now…no more of that.
“Baby, c’mon. I'm here to relieve your burden.” She smiled sheepishly, cat walking towards me, taking the files off the table while she spread her legs towards me.
Fuck! She's so irresistible.
And if there's one reason why I have kept Morgan close all these years, it is just so I could use her as my stress reliever.
After Jade disappeared, I started seeing her other side. I knew she wasn't someone I could wife up. Not even in years to come…maybe in my other life.
“This is a working hour—”
“Shhhh,” she winked, carefully taking off her pants and sprawling across the room, tilting my head up with her finger.
“I know you want to f**k me, Silas. So don't hold back,” she whispered, her lips almost brushing mine.
For a moment my breath became heavy, my chest rose and fell, as I felt heat pool in my stomach.
My temperature increased, while I battled between lust, affection, and whatever comes with it.
Quickly, I stood on my feet, pushing the office chair backward.
Turning my back against her, I wiped my jaw with my hand, running my hand through my hair.
After what seems like a minute of her running her hand through my taut body, I finally find the courage to yank them off.
Still holding on to the hand that wanted to tease me, I stared into her eyes. “Morgan, is this all you have to offer?”
At first, she smiled for a moment, before the word finally hit her in the right place.
I watched a frown crept to her face, causing her to relax, and take a few steps back.
“I don't understand. What do you mean is this all I have to offer? What were you expecting?” She snapped right back, her voice filled with pain.
Seeing how pained she was, I felt butterflies in my stomach. Finally, I think I was getting a hold of this. Relief washed over me.
“Jade was very supportive. She was—”
“Will you just cut the crap?! What the f**k is Jade? Didn't we agree not to ever mention that motherfucker again? Are you comparing me to my cowardly stepsister right now?” Morgan fussed, throwing more tantrums than I could ever imagine.
“Tell me, Morgan. Since you claim to be the next heir to your father's company, what have you contributed to his company and mine?” I slid my hand into my pocket, gazing at her face with a hundred percent confidence.
As much as she was ready to continue throwing a fist, she knew I was right. She had done nothing but act like a filthy slut. Walking right through the office door to deep throat my c**k and make me release.
Afterwards, she asks for money…and that's it.
It finally dawned on me that Jade was their backup for a long time. She has always been right from the moment I saw her walk into my office to work for me.
How stupid was I? To have picked Morgan of all people? Was I that blind?
“I'm listening?” I continued and watched her stumble back, getting off her heels while stammering.
The whole place went silent for a moment, none of us said a word. Because it was all true. Morgan is so useless that I cannot even imagine her being a wife to me.
I cannot build an empire with someone like her. It's so impossible.
“What's this about, Silas? C’mon, you've not been like–”
“Do not touch me, young woman!” I shrieked, causing her to almost jump out of her skin.
I could see the fear in her eyes as she quickly took a few steps back.
“Morgan, I gave you five years! I watched you for five f*****g years. Hoping you would improve. Sending representatives to your father's company to see if you contributed anything. But—”
“You were trailing me?!” Morgan scoffed unbelievably. Her eyes are boring into mine like I've done something bad.
Right now, I wouldn't even thrash this out with her. I cannot.
Reaching out for my phone and my wallet, I made my way out of the office.
“Where are you going?” She scrambled after me, but I wouldn't even bulge.
Turning towards her in anger, I bit my lips slowly as we were now outside, where everyone could see us, including the staff.
“Do not make this more difficult than it is. I need some space. Cut me some slack, Morgan Steele.” I spoke between gritted teeth and left her standing in the same spot.
I didn't even bother to look back as I signaled my driver to take me to the nearest restaurant. A secret place where only I go whenever I feel tired of everything.
But just as I stepped into the restaurant. The first person I saw…
“Jade?” I called out in total shock, surprise written all over my face.
