MAX He listened to every word she said. The way she described her death, the loss of her family. She often went to visit them, but the grieve she felt from her parents, her older brother and her little sister was too much for her, so she left them alone. She just wanted them to be happy. It broke her heart seeing them like this. Max didn't know what to say. He never felt this much love towards his family. He just sat and listened. She was talking nonstop. Her eyes became blurry for a second, almost white. ‘I have to go. Like right-right now.’ He watched her stand up and close her eyes. Before he even knew it, she was gone, like she was never here. She teleported. He was in shock. Was this real? ‘Who were you talking to son?’ his dad was standing in de doorway, only wearing a short pair of jeans. ‘No one.’ Max said. He looked at his father’s chest covered in tattoos and scars from the war. His father was a dangerous man and he knew it. ‘I'm going to school now.’ No, he wasn't really going, but he didn't want to be near his father. So he walked outside. ‘I didn't raise my son to be weak.’ Max was standing in the garden. He felt his hands shaking in anger. ‘You didn’t raise me. You left me alone with grandpa and grandma. Even after they died, you were never here.’ ‘Listen to me carefully. One word like that son and I burry you here in the garden.’ ‘Oh yeah? Try me.’ Max was full of rage, seeing red in his eyes. His father’s hands trying to hit him, were coming at him in slow-motion. Max took a swing and hit his father full on his nose. ‘Bullseye!’ ‘You motherf****r broke my nose!’ ‘Yeah, I learned it from the best.’ Leaving his father behind and stepping inside his car, he finally calmed down. This was the first time he stood up against his dad and he felt great about it. He felt proud. ‘What have you done?’ a lady voice asked. Max wasn't easily scared, but was surprised to see the blond girl sitting next to him. ‘I hit him back.’ He said with a smile. The girl shook her head. ‘Why would you do that?’ ‘My father said I was weak. I'm not weak. I'm not going to let him beat me again.’ ‘Damn it.’ ‘You're allowed to say that?’ He laughed at her. She shook her head. ‘I was too late. I could’ve stopped you. If only I stayed.’ ‘So why didn't you?’ ‘I am not allowed to see you anymore. My teachers think I'm not in my right mind. They are watching me like all the time now.’ ‘But you came anyway?’ ‘I felt your anger.’ ‘I'm not angry anymore.’ ‘I know.’ She looked outside the car window. ‘Your dad is beyond saving. He has hurt a lot of people. There is no place in Heaven for him. But I know you're nothing like him, it's not too late for you.’ ‘I don't need you to tell me what to do. You don't know me.' Her eyes were white again, but only for a second. ‘I have to go. They are looking for me. Please don't do anything stupid, while I'm gone.’ ‘I can't promise you that.’ ‘Just try.’ She closed her eyes. ‘Wait!’ He watched her open her eyes once more. Her blue eyes staring at him. ‘I never got your name.’ ‘Flinder. My name is Flinder.’ And then she disappeared.
