Queen of the dragon people

    “Aiken you have to take her and hide her!” A young woman holding a newborn says while shoving her baby into a basket on the back of a dragon. “I will not leave without you my queen.” Aiken replies. The young woman shoves him  which earns her a growl from the white dragon. “She is the future of my people, she will be the new queen. Aiken takes my daughter somewhere safe and then I need you to come protect the dragons, she will be a new beginning for us all.” Aiken takes one last look at the woman and then spreads his large wings and flies into the air. Even though he would rather be fighting beside his rider and his people he was tasked with the most important task ever. The fate of the dragon people rest on the small brown haired blue eyed baby on his back, the same baby he will protect until the day he dies.      Aiken lands peacefully in the middle of the night in a pasture full of cattle, all the cows run but Aiken pays them no attention, he has to find a place for the princess to be safe until this war is over. He finally found a house and used his dragon vision to see the young husband and wife sitting around the table about to eat dinner.  Walking up to the door he feels nervous as to how these people are going to react to a dragon at their door but he doesn't care. Aiken walks to the house and uses his large tail to knock. The young man opens the door with a loud gasp. Before he could scream Aiken turns and reveals the sleeping baby on his back. The man calls his wife who joins him at the door. She freezes and Aiken tries not to move too fast , worried he could scare the couple. The man slowly walks to Aiken and removes the blanket to find the letter with her.      Hello, my name is Sariah and I am the queen of the dragon people. The dragon here is mine. His name is Aiken, and this beautiful baby girl is my daughter Aria Rose. My people are under attack and Aria isn't safe, I asked Aiken to find her a safe place and it appears he has brought her to you. Once she turns 21 Aiken will come for her to take her back to our people so she can take the throne and be the queen just as I am. Please teach her of our people even if it's just the stories you have heard, and keep her safe. She is the most important thing right now to all of us. I thank you in advance for I will not ever get to meet you wonderful people, but please raise my daughter right and teach her right from wrong, as she will be your queen one day.                          -Queen Sariah      After the young couple reads the letter they just stare at the black dragon and the beautiful baby on his back. The young man turns to his wife and she nods. He reaches for the baby and Aiken growls, showing his teeth. “We will teach her of her people, and we will take good care of her, we promise.” The young man says holding his hands up. “Good.” Aiken says and turns to the people and their shocked faces. “On December 5th, the day of the dragon, it will be her birthday. When her 21st birthday comes I will be here for her so she can take her rightful place.” The couple nods. “You must keep Aria safe. Her dragon will be here soon. You must keep them both hidden. She will be the savior of us all.”     The young man agrees and then grabs the baby, Aiken takes one last look at the princess then spreads his huge wings and takes off. Once the couple gets inside their house they hear a deafening roar. The couple looks at each other. “Maximus what was that?” the woman asks. “That's the sound of a dragon losing its rider.” Max says and lifts the baby girl from the basket and into his arms. He looks down at her. “She is a blessing Katina, just look at her.” The couple stands just staring at the baby they are tasked to raise.
