Niklaus took off his jacket, staring at each of them one after the other and then dropped the jacket. As soon as the jacket hit the couch, one of the wolves dashed toward him, claws and fangs out. As the first werewolf lunged at him, Nicklaus sidestepped the attack and countered with a swift punch to the creature's midsection. The impact sent the werewolf crashing into the furniture.

More werewolves closed in on him, their feral snarls filling the night air. Niklaus focused on his surroundings, using the familiar terrain to his advantage. He leapt off the floor, launching himself into a series of acrobatic flips, narrowly avoiding the slashing claws of his adversaries.

The fight intensified as Niklaus engaged in a deadly dance of dodges and strikes. He utilized his surroundings, grabbing a piece of a broken furniture to parry an incoming attack and then swiftly delivering a powerful kick to a werewolf's chest, sending it sprawling to the floor.

The odds seemed overwhelming as the other werewolves joined the fray, but Niklaus remained undeterred. With a combination of speed, agility, and strategic maneuvers, he managed to hold his ground against the relentless onslaught. As he countered two wolves who had simultaneously tried to claw him, he caught both their hands, stopping their claws before it got to his chest. Just then another appeared behind him, aiming to sink his fang in his neck. Niklaus swiftly made a flip over the wolves he was holding and landed behind them. But he was barely on the ground when another wolf waiting behind kicked him hard, sending him forward.

The wolves whom's hands he held took the opportunity and wriggled free from his grip and then grabbed his hands instead on both sides. They kicked him simultaneously and then hurled him into the air. As though they had practiced the combo, immediately he was sent into the air, two wolves leapt off the ground sending him a powerful kick midair. Niklaus tried to block with his hands up but with how hard the kick was, it sent him back, crashing against his TV set.

Landing on one knee on the floor, he grunted from the pain he felt from his chest and then looked up at the wolves. He had managed to take down just two of them. They were a bit stronger than he had anticipated, but he expected no less from them seeing as they were from the Red Lotus. He was about to stand up when his eyes fell on his broken table that could serve as a stake. He picked it and broke it in half, holding both stakes tightly in his hands.

He stood up and his eyes began glowing red. Seeing this, two of the wolves lunged at him, their growls filling the house. As they got to where he was, to their surprise he disappeared from their sight. Taken aback by this, it caused them to momentarily be unfocused. Before they could realized he was behind them, Niklaus took the opportunity and stabbed both of them with the stake, plunging it into their hearts.

He immediately turned, dodging the others’ punch by leaning back. He caught his hand and rammed the other stake through his arm. The wolf cried in pain. Niklaus swiftly pulled out the stake, cleared the wolf off the floor, sending him to the air and before he could land back down, he plunged the stake through his mouth till it came out from the other side. He stared at both of them as they shook, slowly dying.

He swiftly pulled out both stakes from their bodies and dashed toward the others. The wolves saw what had happened and decided to attack him simultaneously, not giving him a chance to make a move. But Niklaus was prepared. With his eyes still glowing, he rapidly stared at each one of them, his red eyeballs moving to both sides of his eyes with unusual speed, reading their movements.

He threw his right stake to the one in front of him, stabbing his heart. He swiftly dashed past him, pulling out the stake as he did. He made an acrobatic move, jumping over the three in front of him and plunging both his stakes into the neck of two of them midair. On landing on the ground, he pulled out the stakes immediately and dodged the attack of the third and simultaneously stabbing his foot, he stood upright, running the other stake into his neck.

He pulled out both stakes which were now soaked with blood, and began running through them one after the other again, making sure he left no one breathing. He landed a powerful kick on the rib of the last one after stabbing him, sending him crashing against the wall. He began plunging his stake into their hearts, ending them fully.

His sweatshirt was Stained with their blood and his stakes now red. Before he knew it, he was standing at the center of their lifeless bodies, breathing heavily and his stakes were dripping blood.

He inhaled deeply and exhaled slowly, wiping the blood off his face. Seeing his shirt stained with blood, he took it off and dropped it down on his couch, looking around at his destroyed living room and blood soaked floor. He pulled the grocery bag from the floor to himself and fished out a bottle of bourbon from inside. He sank back on the couch with a sigh, opening the bottle. He took a hard sip, hoping to calm himself before going to report the situation to the Alpha. He was confused as to why they came after him.

Kieran sighed, his back against the wall as he slid down to the floor, sitting on the floor with a tired look. “How did you figure it out?” He asked, fiddling with the towel in his hands. He had thought being with Raven, even in secret would be enough for him but it wasn’t even close. He wanted more and it seemed to be hurting him rather than helping him.

“Actually, your mom and I…”

“My mom knows?” He cut in with a shocked look.

“Yeah she does…and she might actually be having the same discussion with Raven right now also”

“Damn it” He cursed

“Look Kieran…”

“I know what you’re gonna say. That I should stop, this will hurt Kreed and our family and that she’s Kreed’s mate and I’m betraying him and if I don’t stop, he’ll feel hurt and betrayed and might end up hating me” He paused and then sighed, running his fingers through his hair.

Diamond who was about to open the door to the sparring room paused when she heard those words from Kieran. She decided to stay behind the door and listen instead.

“Actually, what I wanted to say is, what’s going on between you three is not something light or limited to just you three anymore” He saw the confusion on Kieran’s face and continued to try and make him understand the gravity of what they were doing. “You still being linked with Raven isn’t just threatening the bond between you three but also leading to something bad. The elder had a vision before she was murdered. She said one of you, between you and Kreed is going to be pushed into the darkness”

“What does that mean?” Kieran asked with a confused look

“It means if this doesn’t stop, it’ll end up driving one of you into the darkness. And we all know that with how things are right now, that if Kreed should find out about your secret with Raven, he would be broken and that will lead him into the darkness. Now….” Alpha Damien moved closer to Kieran and crouched in front of him. “We both know you’d do anything to protect your brother and you don’t want to see him go into the darkness. If you don’t end this thing with you and Raven, that’s exactly what’s going happen”

“But…”

“We can’t afford to have Kreed siding with our enemies and becoming an enemy”

“But….she’s my mate too. I….why….i love her, uncle” He stuttered, looking up at Alpha Damien with teary eyes. Both of them oblivious of Diamond who was still behind the door with teary eyes also.

“I know son…but we don’t always get what we want. Your father wanted to live a long life with your mother also but at the end, he sacrificed his life for hers, for me, for us all. He never got to spend his life with the love of his life, his mate. But while it was too late for your father, it is still very much early for you. You will find someone else. Someone you don’t have to fight or sacrifice anyone’s feelings for” He assured him, placing his hand on Kieran’s shoulder.

“I don’t know if I can let her go” He muttered, a tear dropping down his left cheek.

“You have to. To save your brother, your mother and us. You have to sacrifice your love for peace”

Wiping the tear off his cheek, he nodded, sniffling and getting up on his feet. “I understand” He muttered and began heading straight for the door. “Thanks” he added, opening the door. He stepped out to the empty passageway. Diamond was already gone. He leaned back against the closed door, thinking of what to do.

“Ho…how…how” Raven stuttered, staring at Tessa with a shocked and scared look. Wondering in her head how on earth she found out, she began fiddling with her nails nervously. She didn’t know what that meant or how Tessa was going to react, if she was going to expose the secret to Kreed. Those outcomes scared her. “Did Kieran tell you?” She finally asked.

“No he didn’t. Don’t be scared, I’m not going to tell Kreed any of these” She replied, sensing the fear coming from Raven. “I just wanted to talk. I understand why you did what you did”

“You do?” Raven asked with a curious expression.

“Yeah. Love is a complex emotion. A mate is an even more complex bond. So having two mates and having to choose must be very hard. Having new and sudden emotions rivaling the old ones, it’s almost impossible to choose” Tessa explained. “So I understand why you guys did what you did…but, you need to know Raven, there’s a vision, a vision from the elder before she passed. She said one of my sons will be pushed to the darkness. It doesn’t take a genius to figure out what could cause it and it also doesn’t take a genius to know who it will be…”

“Kreed” They both said simultaneously.

“Yeah” Tessa sighed. “If he finds out about your secret with Kieran, it would deal a devastating blow to him. Being betrayed by the two people closest to him. That would send him over the edge. We can’t let that happen. We have enough to deal with already. We can’t risk losing him too”

“But….what about Kieran?” Raven asked with tears clouding her eyes.

“I’m going to ask you this just once Raven…” Tessa stated softly. “Who do you love more? Who do you want more? Who do you want as your mate?”

Raven shifted her attention to the floor, tears dropping and wetting the floor. She didn’t have all the answers to those questions just yet. She was still figuring it out. But, she didn’t want to break Kreed’s heart. She didn’t want to be the reason he succumbed to the darkness and the reason he’ll be devastated. She slowly looked back up at Tessa, tears rolling down her cheeks. “Kreed” She muttered.

Tessa sighed and placed a hand on Raven’s. “Then you know what to do” She gave her a reassuring smile. “You’re doing the right thing. No matter how much it hurts now, you would never regret doing the right thing. Kieran is strong. He’ll pull through and he’ll understand. He’ll come around, I promise”

“Yeah” Raven nodded, wiping her eyes.

Killian rolled out of bed with furrowed brows. He looked out the window and it was dark out. He was confused as to who would come look for him at that time of the night. He made his way to the door, trying to catch the scent of whoever it was but he caught nothing. All he heard was a heartbeat. He looked through the keyhole and was surprised at who he saw.

He opened the door quickly and came face to face with his best friend. “What the hell are you doing here by this time of the night?” He questioned, looking out at both sides of the passageway. “Are you being chased? Cause I’m not in the mood to die tonight”

“No i***t…” Kieran paused and sighed, his expression dimming. “Can I stay here for tonight? Or maybe two or more nights?”

Seeing the look on his face, Killian immediately knew something was wrong. He pulled the door wider and nodded. “Sure, come on in”

“Thanks bro” Kieran forced a smile, making his way inside. That was the best escape plan he could come up with at that moment. Even with all Alpha Damien said, he knew he wasn’t ready to give Raven up yet. So he decided to hide from his problems for the night. He couldn’t go back home to face her. Come morning, he would come up with a decision.
