Brothers’ Disagreement

Sitting facing each other with their legs tucked under them on the bed, They both interlocked their fingers together, tightening their grip with every passing second to find out who would give up first from the pain. Raven kept staring directly into Kreed’s eyes with a smug smile on her face. She kept tightening her grip while trying to gauge if Kreed was feeling the pain already, but he had a smile on his lips also. Slowly her smug smile was disappearing when she began feeling the pain, almost as though her bones were about getting crushed. “Ouch!” Kreed yelled out to her surprise, giving up.

“What?” She asked with a puzzled look

“You almost took my fingers off” He complained, freeing his fingers from her grip and twisting them.

Raven rolled her eyes. “Stop letting me win” She said to him, knowing fully well he was feigning it just to make her feel strong.

“I didn’t, you really got me”

“You’re the worst liar I know and an even worse actor” She teased, jumping on top of him. She got him on his back and sat astride on him. She then leaned down and kissed him lightly on his lips, smiling as she did. “I’m not gonna get stronger if you keep babying me…you know that right?”

“You’re strong already, and I know you’ll get a lot stronger as time goes on. You don’t have to rush it or force anything” He replied, his hands moving up from her bare thighs that are shorts could barely cover, up to her waist.

“I don’t have the luxury of time. A war is coming and my brother is still out there. I have to become stronger so I can fight him and end him when next I see him. With my current strength, I’ll lose if I should confront him now. I’m not dumb enough to think I would win. That’s why I need to train harder and get more in sync with my wolf” She explained with a serious expression.

Kreed thought about it and knew she was right. If she was to encounter Rayne at that point in her life and she fights him, she definitely would lose. He knew he can’t stop her from fighting him either, he didn’t want to say something against it for fear of losing her, hence, he knew Kieran was right, she shouldn’t be hung up on it and might be going down the wrong the path, but he saw how she reacted to Kieran and that scared him. He didn’t want her to treat him that same way. He didn’t want to lose her love and her being his mate.

“Alright, I understand. I’m going to help you train” He announced

“Really?” Her eyes brightened with excitement.

“Yeah. You’re right, there’s a war coming, and we have a lot of enemies out there. I wouldn’t want what happened to Isabella or Diamond’s mom to happen to you too. So yeah, I’ll help you train so you can be strong enough to protect yourself and also to take down Rayne”

“Thank you! Thank you! Thank you!!” She chanted excitedly, kissing him. “I love you”

“I love you too” He smiled, just before they heard footsteps coming from the stairs and heading directly into Kieran’s room. They both could tell instantly that it was Kieran. Kreed caught a whiff of his scent and Raven felt the mate connection they still shared.

Raven looked down at Kreed and saw the smile on his face quickly change into anger. She got off him and he stood up to his feet immediately, getting down from the bed. “Kreed…” She called, hoping to calm him but he didn’t pay anymore attention to her. He adjusted his sweatpants and T-shirt and headed straight for Kieran’s room.

“Kreed!” Raven called again, hurrying after him.

Kieran heard heavy footsteps and Kreed’s door being opened. He sighed knowing what was about to happen. He dropped his backpack just before his door was pushed open and the angry Kreed came into sight with Raven behind him. “Hello brother” Kieran rolled his eyes, turning his back to them as he began undoing his sleeve and shirt button.

“Where the hell were you all day?” Kreed questioned, his anger not going unnoticed.

“Out with Killian” Kieran sighed, taking off his shirt and exposing his bare body. Raven immediately looked away on seeing him take off his shirt, not because she didn’t want to see him shirtless but because seeing him like that stirred up something in her.

“You ditched school just to go have a joyride with Killian?”

“What is this even about?” Kieran picked up his black hoodie and turned to face his twin.

“Are you serious right now?” Kreed asked, becoming more furious. “You and I were among a few other students selected for the discussed task but guess what…we couldn’t start off today because you were nowhere to be found”

“You can’t blame me for that. You guys could have started without me and then fill me in when I got back” He replied nonchalantly, putting on his hoodie.

“Kreed! Let’s just go please” Raven pleaded but it didn’t seem like he was ready to drop it just yet.

“Do you hear yourself?” He questioned, watching as Kieran took off his pants, leaving just his brief on and then picked up a black jean and began putting it on. “Diamond’s mother is out there with our enemies, that’s Uncle Damien’s wife, Aunt Freya! And you’re drawing us back from finding her. Do you even care?” He asked angrily.

“Of course I care!” Kieran blurted out angrily after being fully dressed. “You think I want her to die? Stop grilling me like you’re the man of the house. You’re not our father”

“If you were responsible then it wouldn’t feel like that”

“Guys please” Raven pleaded but to no avail.

“Well not all of us can be as responsible as you. Perfect son, perfect student, perfect grade, perfect mate. You do you and be the perfect wolf you are and I’ll do me and be the imperfect wolf I am” Kieran concluded and stormed out past them both.

Kreed stood there thinking about Kieran’s later words, wondering where all of that was coming from. He had never thought about their lives like that. He felt jealousy and pain from those words. He glanced back at Raven, staring at her with a quizzical gaze. “What do you think he meant by that?” He asked softly and she shook her head sideways.

Sweating profusely and breathing heavily, Kieran calculated his next move and immediately dashed toward Alpha Damien. Few steps from where the Alpha stood, he slipped and fell down flat on his back. “Ouch!” He groaned, breathing heavily. He tried to get up to his feet and continue but the Alpha placed his right foot on his chest and forced him back down.

“I think that’s enough for today. We have been going about it for more than three hours now. I think we should call it. It’s night time already now. Plus you just slipped from your own sweat. That’s a sign to throw on the towel” He stated and then made his way to where they hung the towels. “Wanna tell me what’s on your mind?”

“What? Nothing” Kieran forced himself up and made his way over to where he hung his hoodie close to his towel also. His bare body was dripping.

“You only push yourself this hard when you’re worried about something. I may not be your father but I practically raised you and Kreed alongside your mother. So I can say I know you well enough”

Kieran sighed, picking up his towel. “I’m curious though…how are you so calm? I mean, with Aunt Freya being taken. She’s your Luna but yet you don’t seem worried or scared. You seem unbothered and calm” He stared at the Alpha with a puzzled look.

“Oh trust me kiddo, I’m definitely scared and worried. I’m very scared of losing her, scared that Diamond might lose her. I’m constantly trying to find her. But I look calm because I’m trying to act that way. I’m doing that for Diamond. I can’t afford to lose my cool. I have to be strong for her. Me being this calm is the only thing keeping her together. If I should breakdown, she would fall apart”

“Hmm I see…I understand” Kieran bobbed his head.

“So what about you? Want to tell me what’s troubling you?”

“Well….its….”

“It’s Raven, isn’t it?”

“What?” He glanced at the Alpha with a puzzled look.

“I wanted to talk to you about that” Alpha Damien turned to him with a serious look. “I know Raven hasn’t rejected you”

Raven sighed, handing Tessa a glass of water and putting the other on the table in front of her. They both sat directly opposite each other on the dinning table. “Where are the boys?” Tessa asked, looking around. She hadn't heard their voices nor seen them since she returned. It was obvious they weren’t at home. She found it strange, seeing as they both always wanted to be close to Raven.

“Well, they had a little misunderstanding”

“About what?” She asked. Feeling more worried, wondering if it had any relation to what she wanted to discuss with Raven.

“About Kieran ditching school and not being present when he was needed. It made Kreed angry and he confronted him. They both got mad. Kieran stormed off and a little later Kreed left also, saying he needed some air” Raven explained

“Oh…I see. I’ll have a chat with them when they return. But for now this is an opportunity to discuss what I told you about this morning. I know you must be curious. So I’ll get right to it….its about you and Kieran. I know you both are still linked” She dropped the ball and watched as Raven’s expression was taken over by fear and shock.

Pushing his door open, Niklaus smiled before stepping into his apartment. He walked over to the sitting room and then dropped the bag of groceries he was holding on the center table. He looked around the dark room and his smile broadened. “You can come out, there’s no point in hiding. I could smell you even before I opened the door” He called out loudly.

He waited and a few seconds later, wolves began coming out from where they hid. Some breaking and jumping down from the ceiling. Within a few more seconds he was surrounded by angry wolves. He turned around slowly on the spot he was standing, counting them. He counted twelve of them. Twelve Betas who had black cloaks on. “I can tell you’re followers of the Red Lotus. I can tell from your outfits. You’re the ones who attacked the Academy also. So it’s safe to say you’re the Red Lotus. I guess I’ve caught the attention of your leader” He paused, staring at them.

They said nothing but growling and taking a fighting stance. They had him surrounded. Niklaus being in the middle of these wolves who were out for his blood, began smiling physically, but in his head he was planning all his moves, all the possible ways to take them all down and escape unscathed. “You guys don't talk much, I see... Alright then, let’s do this” He said just before his eyes began glowing red.
