Tapping her foot worriedly, Tessa sighed with frustration. ‘He’s going to be the end of me’ She thought to herself. She looked around the room and everyone had a worried look on. “So let me get this straight, he didn’t come home last night and no one has seen him today and even his best friend didn’t show up in school either, which means they might be together but we are not sure if they purposely missed school or they were attacked like I was last night. Their phones are not going through either?” Niklaus asked, leaning against the wall with his arms folded.

“Yeah pretty much” Diamond replied.

“Have they done this before? Like skipped school?” He asked again

“Oh countless times” Kreed rolled his eyes.

“And why can’t we go check this Killian’s house?” Niklaus questioned.

“Well….that’s because…..” Raven hesitated to state the obvious. “That’s because…”

“None of us knows where he stays” Ace cut in and gave a tired sigh.

“Wow…you guys are such terrible friends” Niklaus teased

“Only Kieran had ever visited him, they are best friends after all. We haven’t had a reason to go to his house” Diamond explained.

“Okay that’s enough. You four should return to school. We will deal with this” Alpha Damien instructed, dismissing them.

The four of them began heading toward the door. “I’m gonna kill him” Kreed muttered, going out the door. Raven glanced back at Tessa and saw the worried look on her face and she couldn’t help but blame herself, thinking she might have been the reason why Kieran was not to be found at the moment.

She too was scared, wondering where he was or what might have happened or may be happening to him at the moment. ‘Come on Kieran, please be safe’ Raven thought to herself.

“Hey! Stop cheating!!” Killian yelled out, throwing his pillow at Kieran. Kieran dodged the pillow and dropped his winning cards on the bed, laughing heavily. “You cheating Direwolf bastard” Killian quarreled. “No wolf eyes”

“I’m not stopping you from using your wolf eyes” He laughed.

“Are you mocking my Beta eyes?” Killian threw his cards at the laughing Kieran and immediately tackled him. They both immediately began struggling to gain the upper hand and overpower the other. They struggled and rolled on the bed till they found themselves on the floor. Killian wrapped his arm around Kieran’s neck and was about to cover Kieran’s mouth with his other hand when Kieran caught his hand and bit his wrist. “Ouch!” Killian yelled and immediately let go of Kieran.

They both rolled to their backs, laying side by side on the floor, laughing hard and loud. They laughed at themselves for a while before calming down a little. “How can you be as strong as this and still result to biting like a girl just to overpower me?” Killian asked

“There’s no rule to fighting” Kieran chuckled

“You’re a dirty fighter asshat”

“Yeah well at least I won. That’s all that matters” He replied just before they fell into silence.

The whole room was quiet except for their labored breathing. They kept staring at the roof, sinking into their own thoughts. The silence lingered for a few more minutes until Killian broke it. “We managed to ditch school today…what about tomorrow?”

“Nothing we haven’t done before” Kieran replied

“True…” He paused for a while and then continued. “What about the day after that? And the day after that? You can’t hide from the problem forever you know”

“But at least I can hide from it today” He shrugged

“And when you’re done hiding from it? What are you going to do? Are you going to let her go?”

“I don’t know bro. Everything seems so messed up. I don’t know what to do” Kieran sighed, his eyes still fixed on the roof.

“The truth could fix things”

“It’s too late for the truth now. The truth won’t do anything anymore. What matters is now and what she’s feeling now”

“Do you think she would go through with breaking things off with you?” Killian inquired, glancing at his best friend.

“I guess we’ll find out soon”

They became quiet again for a few more minutes. “I tell you what, you teach me how to mask my scent like you did with yours last night, and I’ll ditch school with you again tomorrow”

“Nah that isn’t enough. You’ve got to add something interesting to it and I might agree” Kieran gave a corny smile.

“What? Bro you’ve been consuming my food since last night. You’re lucky I’m even offering anything” Killian argued

“Not my problem” He smiled crookedly, locking his hands under his head. “I got it!” He sat up abruptly. “How about you help me break into my house tonight so I can get some of my stuff?” He smiled broadly at his friend.

“You demon wolf” Killian sneered

“Your choice”

Driving around town under the almost full moon, Kreed was feeling angrier than he was before. They had practically searched every place Kieran frequents but came up empty and they can’t seem to locate Killian’s house either. They hadn’t anticipated how important Killian’s house would come to be. “Where the hell are they?” He growled angrily. Thinking about how their mom was worried sick at the moment made him more pissed at Kieran for making her feel that way.

Ace who had been watching him from the passenger seat the whole time they had been driving around, could tell just how frustrated he was. Seeing that, he wondered if saying what he knew would help or make things worse. Kreed was his best friend and his loyalty to his best friend should come first before anything else. He knew how what he was about to say would affect things, but he felt that was the only way. “I need to tell you something Kreed”

“What?”

“It’s about Kieran….and Raven. What I found out about them” He started

His interest piqued. He glanced over at Ace with a curious and impatient look. “What is it about them?” He asked, his heart beating faster immediately like he could sense where this was going.

With an emotionless face, Ace broke the news. “Kieran and Raven are both having a secret relationship. They are still bonded as mates and are in a relationship behind you” After saying that, he looked away. He didn’t need to look at Kreed to tell how shocked he was and how heartbroken he was. All they could wait for now was the fallout.

Kieran placed his right foot on Killian’s opened palms as they stood by the corner of his house, under his window. He looked up at his room’s opened window, aiming for it. “Steady your hands” He whispered at Killian.

“My hands are steady. Will you just jump dammit! You’re a wolf for Christ sake” Killian whispered back.

“Stop being a grumpy old man and launch me” Kieran teased

“Why am I here with this i***t” Killian sighed, rolling his eyes.

“You have to….” He trailed off as Killian tossed him up mid sentence.

Getting up to the level of his room’s window, he swiftly grabbed the frame and pulled himself inside the room. He landed softly inside his room, hoping no one was at home as they suspected, seeing as how all the cars were gone. But he didn’t want to take any chances, hence the reason he used the window. He went straight to his closet and was rummaging through it when his door was pushed open immediately before he could make a break for it.

He froze where he stood when he saw Raven standing by the opened door and staring directly at him. She was in her nightwear, her shorts and sweatshirt. “Hey Ray” He smiled nervously, wondering why he didn’t feel the mate bond.

She said nothing but walked closer to him. As soon as she stepped into the light, he saw the tears gathered in her eyes. “You didn’t have to leave because of me” She said with shaky lips, tears rolling down her cheeks.

“I….I didn’t….” He paused when she took his hand, opened his palm and placed something in it. When she let go, he saw the moonstone she had been using in his palm. “What….” He felt his heart racing as he began feeling some sort of fear he had never felt before.

“I’m in love with Kreed….not you Kieran” She muttered, unable to look him in his eyes.

“What?” Was the only word Kieran could muster.

“I’m ending anything we have between us…” She paused, cleaning her eyes. “I Raven…” She paused the rejection ritual when they heard the front door opening and footsteps quickly approaching. She hurried over to the hallway to see who it was and just as soon as she came out from the room into the hallway, she saw Kreed standing there with a heartbroken and furious look. They both stood still staring at each other from both sides of the hallway with a knowing look in their eyes.
