The tensed atmosphere was getting worse with each passing second, the silence defeaning. Unable to keep her legs up from the shock she just received, Raven located a nearby couch and sat down with a still mortified look. She was as confused as anyone in her position would be. Not only did she just get her wolf and find her mate, she ended up getting twins as her mates. Her boyfriend and his twin brother. How was she supposed to explain or navigate through that?
The two boys walked over to her and stood in front of her, staring down at her and waiting for an explanation. "What the hell is happening? I'm so confused right now. Why am I feeling your emotions and Why am I drawn to you?" Kieran asked with a puzzled look.
"What do you mean?" Kreed asked him with furrowed brows. "You can feel it too?"
"What do you mean "too"? You're feeling it?" Kieran inquired, shifting his confused gaze to his twin.
"You're both my mates" Raven broke the noise, avoiding their eyes and staring into space as she was also trying to make sense of what was happening.
"What?!" They said simultaneously.
"I don't know how this is possible or why it happened, but you're both my mates" She explained
"You've got to be kidding me" Kieran scoffed, turning away from them.
"Tell me you're joking" Kreed pressed on with a serious gaze that was fixed on Raven.
"I wish I was" She replied, finally looking up at him.
"What does this mean?" Kieran questioned, turning to face them again.
"If this is truly happening, then it's obvious what next to do. You have to reject Kieran and break the mate bond" Kreed explained with all seriousness. "Of course, that's definitely the only thing to do. She's my girlfriend after all and she loves me. I can't share her and certainly can't give her up. We've been praying we end up being mates and that's what happened. This is just a complication, a complication that can be rectified easily. So, reject him Raven" He added, staring at her with an impatient eyes.
Raven said nothing but shifted her gaze to Kieran, their eyes locking. Kieran stared directly at her, saying nothing. He didn't have to, Raven could feel what he was feeling at that moment, his emotions, thanks to the mate bond. Her look slowly turned from a confused one to an indecisive one. She shifted her eyes down to her nails, fiddling with them. "What are you waiting for Raven? Do it" Kreed was becoming restless and less confident on seeing the look on her face and how she was delaying.
"I....I....I don't want to....not right now" She replied quietly with shaky voice.
"What?" Kreed questioned, anger slowly rising in him. "What do you mean you don't want to?" He waited a few seconds and when no reply came from her, he shifted his attention to his twin brother. "Fine. Do it Kieran...reject her and end this" He instructed
"I'm sorry bro....I'm going to have to leave the decision to her" He replied, shrugging.
Kreed stared at him with c****d brows. He began staring between them, wondering what was going on and what they were doing. To him it was a simple decision, a simple issue to rectify. She was his girl and they've waited months for that. Now that it's happening, he didn't think she would hesitate to reject his brother, considering her feelings for him and then being together. And also, he couldn't understand why his brother was also not rejecting her. "What the hell is going on right now? Is there something going on between you two?"
"No, of course not" Raven replied immediately
"Of course not bro"
"Then why the hesitation to reject each other so we can carry on with our lives and how it has been?" He inquired, still confused.
The front door clicked open and Tessa walked in. Shutting the door behind her with her eyes focused on them, she immediately caught on that something was wrong. "What's going on?" Their mother questioned, walking to them.
"Well something confusing just happened...Raven just got her wolf...." Kreed started.
"Awwwn congratulations darling" Tessa smiled at her genuinely happy for her. She knew how big of a deal it was to get your wolf.
"Thanks miss T" She replied solemnly, forcing a smile.
"That's not the issue. She found who her mate is....me ..."
"Wow! That's good news. You've been wanting that" Tessa cut in, smiling proudly.
"And Kieran" Kreed stated.
"What...what are you talking about? What do you mean?" Tessa asked, her smile turning into a quizzical look.
"Her mate turned out to be mates instead. Kieran and I" He elaborated.
Tessa stared at them in awe, surprised at what she just heard. She looked over at Kieran and he nodded, confirming the story. She looked over at Raven and seeing the look in her eyes told her all she needed to know. Tessa immediately knew how big of a problem that was about to be. Them still in that mood, meant Raven hadn't rejected anyone. That was a situation she didn't want to be in as their mother. She can't advice Raven to choose one son over the other. The choice has to be hers. She loved both her sons, but the best way to tackle the issue, was to stay away from it. "What are you going to do Raven?" She asked, her attention on the confused girl.
"I..."
"She's supposed to reject Kieran, seeing as we are together already and we are now mates. Isn't that the right to do mom?....but both of them are delaying in rejecting each other" Kreed cut her off, complaining angrily.
Immediately he was done with his statement, Raven stood up swiftly from the couch. "I'm sorry, I have to go. I can't deal with this right now" She announced and quickly ran toward the door before anyone could utter a word.
"Raven!" Kreed called after her but she was out the door already. His anger increased. He shifted his attention to his twin brother, glaring at him. "What the hell was that? What the hell was that? What are you trying to pull? Why didn't you reject her?" He questioned
"I don't know" Kieran replied with a genuine look. He really didn't know why he didn't reject her immediately. Why he left the decision to her. Before then, if he had been told what would happen and asked what he would do, he wouldn't hesitate to reply them that he would immediately reject her and leave her to his brother as they've been together. But there he was, unable to reject her and part of him wishing she doesn't reject him.
"What the hell do you mean you don't know!!!?" Kreed shouted angrily at him.
"Hey!" Tessa stopped him immediately. "There would be no shouting in this house and definitely no fight between you and your brother" She ordered with a stern look. That has always been one of their rules, the most important rule she brought them up with. The never fighting each other or quarreling rule. "You're not gonna fight because of this. You're going to calm down and discuss this like brothers"
Kreed's anger increased more on hearing that. That wasn't something that they were suppose to be discussing. He immediately stormed off, leaving the house through the front door, leaving his mother and twin brother standing there. "Kreed!" Kieran called after him, he felt bad. After all, it felt like he was betraying his twin brother. He loved his brother more than anything in the world and had always stood by him and put him first. But that was the first time he was hurting him and it troubled him.
"Let him cool off for a bit" Tessa advised. She became quiet whilst still standing there in front of his son. Though she didn't want to be involved, but she wanted to know. "Kieran..." She called softly "Why didn't reject her?"
Quiet for some seconds, thinking hard about the question and the answer for it, he came up with the same answer that he had been getting. "I really don't know mom. I couldn't bring myself to and truthfully, part of me doesn't want her to reject me also... Does that make me an evil brother for thinking that about my brother's girl?" He inquired with a disturbed and puzzled look.
"No it doesn't. A mate is a complicated thing and it complicates our emotions and feelings. Whatever you three decide on and whatever happens, just make sure it doesn't split you and your brother apart" She advised with a serious tone.
"Of course, he's my twin brother. Nothing can come between us" He replied confidently, unaware of the extent of the trouble that just began.
