Chapter 10
The morning was peaceful. Pari woke as the first beams of light illuminated her hilltop pod. She watched as the sun rose, exposing new crevices and colors in the canyon slope. Looking to the pod beside her, it appeared that Manami remained asleep with her drapes fastened to block the encroaching rays. Across the canyon void, Pari noticed that Danica and Rosemary were also awake and moving about their rooms. Danica was on her floor, either stretching or practicing yoga. Rosemary was in her chair and writing. Looking downward, Pari observed the two transparent dome rooms beneath Danica and Rosemary on the forest floor where James and Salvador were sound asleep in their beds.
