Chapter 28
Making an unannounced return to the Crown Flower Bay Resort, Pari and Campbell first paid a surprise visit to neither Orion or Salvador. Instead, they knocked on the door to James Williams's room. They heard him approach the door, bend down against the peephole, then unlatch the lock and open the door wide, revealing his immaculate hotel room.
"Yes?" James asked, a look of astonishment on his face. He was dressed in a suit and tie and polished shoes, and he dabbed beads of sweat from his brow and around his silver goatee with a handkerchief.
"Good morning, James," Pari said. "Can we please come in for a few minutes?" After James hesitated for a second too long, Pari gave him another option. "Or would you like to visit with us again outside on the patio lounge?"
