Chapter 32
Sitting cross-legged on the cool slate tiles of the sunroom floor, Pari Malik and Dr. Michael Blake were ten feet away from Molly, who was feeding her seven babies on a mat while soaking up sun-rays. They were in the home of Jillian Chang, a veterinary technician employed by Dr. Blake at his clinic and the foster parent for Molly and her puppies following the emergency surgery due to complications when Molly had been giving birth. Michael had brought Pari with him to Jillian's home, watching Molly while Jillian ran an errand to the grocery store, and giving him an opportunity to give her a follow-up examination.
After a few minutes to complete the feeding, Molly wagged her tail as she approached Michael, then Pari, for petting.
