TANK “Let’s get some food before you just eat all that candy.” I watched her pause as she tried to open a bag of smarties and she sighed, but I figured she knew I was right, since she closed the shopping back and set it back on the other seat behind her. “Diner?”  “Sure. I’ll ask my brother what he wants.” I drove as she texted and I kept my head on a swivel in case anything was about to come out of nowhere. “Let me get out first.” I told her. I saw a bike I didn’t recognize in the parking lot and I’d be damned if she got out first and it ended up being some other MC. She waited for me and I looked for any sign of the guy inside but didn’t see anyone so I got her door open and had her hand in mine, making sure to keep her behind me, “I haven’t eaten here in so long.” She mumbled as we waited for someone to seat us and she went to the little stack of menus. She looked them over and I kept my eyes peeled for anyone else’s colors. “Hey. Take a seat anywhere along the windows. I’ll be right with you.” I nodded at Daisy and headed for the set in the back, putting her in a booth and I watched the doors.  I heard her humming as she looked over the menu and I knew what I wanted. I got the same things when I came here so it wasn’t too hard to pin down. I watched Daisy head our way, a little tired and upset by something but she plastered on a smile before she got to our table. “Are we doing the meatloaf or the Ruebin tonight Travis?” She asked with a knowing smile. “He hasn’t even looked at a menu yet, since you didn’t give him one.” I heard Fiona snap and I saw the way Daisy gulped and looked from her to me. “Did you want a menu? You usually wave it off.” “I’m good Daisy. I’ll take a Reuben. Garlic fries this time and corn please.” She nodded and wrote it down on her little notepad. “Drink?” “Coke, light ice.” I told her and she nodded, getting that down too, before she chanced another look at Fiona. “Have you decided?” I asked her when Fi kept the menu up. “I’ll have the spaghetti dinner, with a soup for a starter. Minestrone soup. And I’ll have a coke, no ice for me.” Fiona slid the menu across the table and I glared as Diasy made sure to retreat fast. “What is your problem?” I asked when she seemed to get huffy. “Oh… just take me to the diner where one of the girls calls you by your first name-“ She muttered on and on and I sat back and waited to be able to call her out on it. She was jealous. “Done being jealous?” I asked when she went quiet. “Jealous? Of that little mouse? Who do you think you’re playing with Travis?” She shouted, calling attention to us in seconds. Daisy looked over at us, she was beet red and moved quickly to disappear into the kitchen. “You realize that is Daisy, the same little 14-year-old Daisy who used to take our orders when we were teens. Of course, she calls me by my first name. She calls Rowdy and Gash by their first names too. She knows all of us.” I told her and I saw a little bit of anger seep out of her and it was replaced by complete regret and embarrassment. “And you never told her to call you Tank?” She asked me and I rolled my eyes and watched as Daisy brought our drinks. As soon as she put the set of glasses down she turned and headed right to another table. “No. I haven’t because she’s not in our life. She hasn’t been touched by it. We eat here and we leave.” Though I knew one man who was willing to keep her, if he didn’t make a move she’d be waiting for it forever. I watched Daisy make sure not to look our way as she passed us and headed behind the counter. Fiona better makeup for that... that girl was gold and didn't need people being f****d up to her. “So, not a club girl?” I shook my head and smirked as I saw Fuse walk in and head to the counter. Didn’t even clock us as he kept his eyes on Daisy. “Gotcha.” She mumbled and I looked over and saw her smiling at them too. “Kids these days let things go untouched.” I told her and leaned back further. “Oh I’m sure. Just the kids.” She laughed and I shot her a look as she used her straw now to sip her soda. “Told you woman, I won’t touch until you beg… so let me know when you’re ready for it.” I reminded her and she went pink.  “I was talking about Johnny. He almost let Sabbie escape but he turned it around.” She told me quick but I smirked knowing she was now thinking about us. “He did. But she was 10 years younger than him.” I reminded her and she waved that off. “Older men are hot. The whole big and in charge and knows what they want type attitude…” she sighed as she looked away and I ground my teeth wondering who she was thinking about. "Did you have an older teacher at school?" I asked her and she froze before looking anywhere but me. "Come on Fi, we can talk about who we moved on with." I challenged and she gulped but looked down to her nails this time. "I didn't really move on in school." She told me honestly and I nodded slowly hoping she kept going. She had almost said something about how no one had lived up to what I could do with her or that she never let anyone but me be inside her. "So... who did you find for yourself after school?" I asked and she raised her soda to her lips and I decided that I could wait her out. There was no way in hell I would tell her how many women graced my bed, she would be more than pissed. I had been possessive, let everyone know she was mine, but she was defensive. If a girl looked at me too long or tried to flirt with me and she caught them, she used to try and fight them for even trying. She was a jealous little thing and I never wanted her to be that bad with anyone, not when most of the club girls weren't my type. "Why don't you give me a number to see if we still match." She smirked and I just licked my lips and waited. "Ladies first." I told her and she pulled out a smile and I didn't like the look of it. "What? Too big of a number?" I asked and she hummed as she looked around and then she seemed to freeze again. I looked where she was and saw a single man in leather and he was watching us. "Know him?" "He looks like someone." She told me and I just smiled at him and raised my arm to put around her shoulders. "Here is the soup, and your fries-" Daisy moved quick putting them down. "Daisy... who is that over there in leather?" I asked her before she could move too far away. "I... I don't know. He has been in here for over two hours." She told me and I nodded this time as she backed off and left us at the table. I kept my arm around Fi and watched him watch us. She ate her soup and I picked at my fries, making sure that before Fuse left he saw us and he would wait outside with someone. "What are we going to do if he gets up and leaves when we do?" Fiona asked as she curled into my arm a bit more and I took the time to look back down at her. "I knew asking Daisy about the guy would make her bring it up to Fuse, when he was leaving he nodded at me and he knows to come back with someone. We won't leave until I see them outside." I told her and she looked around again and then back up at me. "You ordered them without even opening your mouth." She sighed and I smirked. "That's right. I know how to get s**t done when it comes to protection." I told her and she laughed lightly and looked down at my fries and stealing some. I got to the point of eating that I forgot about him and focused on her. She was fast as she ate and I made sure that she didn't choke too bad when she slurped her noodles. I remember saying something about how good it sounded years ago and she choked so hard she needed to throw up in the bathroom down the hall. That was when we were first together and starting to be s****l. That was over 20 years ago. I paused as i thought about the time. We could have had a teenager if she hadn't wanted to lose or get rid of our baby. FIONA "He's getting up." I told him as I saw him toss some cash on the table just as we told Daisy we wanted check and Ryder's food to go. "I see him Fi. We got back up. I see Rowdy and Fuse out there." "Is that enough?" I asked and he smiled at me and I noticed the bit of annoyance in his eyes too. Was it because of that guy, or because I was questioning him? "Get your stuff, hold your bag tight and stay glued to me." He told me and while we paid and he left a big tip, we were able to see him smoking something outside against his bike and he had moved it closer to Trav's truck. I nibbled my lip over and over as we got closer to the doors. I started to walk slower and he gripped my hand and pulled me with him so I could keep up and we can get this over with. "You the Fiona b***h?" I heard the asshole say and I raised my eyes and glared. "You got my girl and son in that clinic of yours?" He asked me and I paused and so did Travis. "No. I don't know who you're looking for." I told him and Travis made sure to stay in front of me by just his shoulder. "That right? You take a woman from her man, from all she knows, and you take the babies away-" "I suggest you back off. She ain't here for you." Travis cut him off and I glared at the bastard as I let Travis put me in his car and i made sure to watch the fucker sit on his bike and watch us leave. "You don't know him?" "No, but with I do, sometimes people know me before I know what they look like." I told him as we kept going and we didn't get anyone following us. "What exactly do you do? You wanted to counsel kids." He reminded me and I just nodded slowly like that made sense still and when I didn't keep talking he made a noise to motivate me to talk. "I diverged. I was a counselor for kids for a while, and then I had a roommate that had a sister go missing. Her boyfriend beat her so bad she tried to leave and she died of internal bleeding. He laughed at her when she tried to leave and was already with a hooker when they found her body." I told him softly and I looked around outside as we headed back to my place. "And what happened to the fucker?" "Jail. I counseled my roommate, had a good feeling from it so I volunteered at a few shelters, and then I heard about this foundation, it's all over the world and when I was hired, they moved me around a bit, once a year. This is my 8th place, and I am the only qualified counselor." I told him, I had a few students learning from me, getting their hours with me watching over them, and I made sure that we were all prepared for each new case. "And that guy is looking for his girl and kid?" "I think he is Shane Frasier. His wife... she had a fractured cheekbone, 7 months pregnant with a little boy... she's been moved to a couple different locations because he keeps following someone and hearing things he shouldn't. I think it's the doctors office she's still using." That would have to change Monday morning. There was no way we could have a leak of information. Not when she was progressing and thinking about how she can survive without him and thrive as a single mother. "We're going to drop this food off to your brother and get back in the car. He's following a couple blocks back. We will stay at the clubhouse tonight so he thinks that is where you live. I don't need him harassing you at home too." He told me and I chanced a look back and I saw a bike a few blocks back. "Ok." I got where he was coming from. It made perfect sense... but that didn't mean I wanted to really go to the clubhosue. I wished I could ask to go back to his place, but I knew from Johnny that he lived at the clubhouse now, no house for him. I knew that all meant I couldn't grab a change of clothes, but maybe Ryder could bring me some tomorrow morning. "Hurry." Travis told me and I pushed his door open and headed for the front door. I knocked like this wasn't my house and when Ryder opened with one hand behind his back, like he was going to pull a gun, he looked confused. "We got an issue with a client of mine's ex finding me. He's following us but will back off, take this dinner, I am staying at the compound, pretend this is your place, and just bring me a change of clothes in the morning."I told him and made sure to give him a hug before waving goodbye and then making my way back to the car. Once I was in I felt my hand being held tight as he did a slight spin out and gunned the engine down the street. I let some noise escape me and I reached for my belt and buckled a little too late as he took a right and I was pushed against the center console. "Rowdy and Fuse are still tailing him, and they said he's carrying." He told me as he kept up the fast paced driving and I made sure to keep up with the turns and to control my worry as we got closer to the compound. I didn't live more than 15 minutes from it, but it was still a lot of streets away and some long lights. "He won't stay out here will he?" I asked as he had two patches open up the gate for him. "Hopefully once he pulls up and he sees Rowdy and Fuse pull up after him, he will get the show and tell message and hit the road." Travis told me and all I could do was hope the same thing, I was just going to trust him... and what he was capable of.
