The Vampire King

"The vampire king is gone!" The human world has begun to panic. The end of their existence, they thought. It is everyone’s nightmare. It’s been five decades. How come the vampire king escaped? Everyone is confused. They had been so careful, they did everything just to ensure that no single vampire could enter the temple. No single power holder can get near the temple. Humans and witches have been guarding the temple strictly. No one has ever imagined that one day the vampire king could ever escape. “Who the hell set him free?” The queen of the witches angrily shouted as soon as she entered the temple. Everything is a mess, it looks like a huge bomb exploded and the only thing they can recognize is the maid who is now unconscious. She is wounded and blood is all over her body. The queen of the witches, Sataria, was so mad that she didn’t care if the maid was barely breathing. She kicked the woman strongly. “Ugh…” the maid grunted in pain. “Wake up, useless b***h!” The witch said angrily and kicked her again. “U-hh…” The maid was almost dying, she tried so hard to open her eyes. She can’t remember what happened. The only thing she knew was that her body was in severe pain. She had massive damage from an unknown force. Another kick was given to her by the queen of the witches. Her mouth fell half open but there was no word came out. She can’t speak, she lost her voice due to extreme pain. Sataria kicked her with all her might for the last time. “Put her in jail!” The queen was furious. She knew that she wouldn’t get any information about the moment with the maid. With the situation of the maid, it is absolutely impossible to get any clue about what really happened in the temple. Hurriedly, the guards went to the maid and took her. They put her in a cell and called a healer witch to check on her. A simple human doctor could not help her. They knew that. It is almost a miracle that the maid is still breathing. For a normal person, she could have died hours ago. The witch healer, Amelia, did her best to heal the maid as per Sataria ordered her. Only the maid can tell them what really happened back in the temple, so her life is really important right now. Amelia, as the most powerful healer, successfully healed the wounds of the maid, internally and externally. But the problem is, the maid is still unconscious. Her body will need days to recover and to regain consciousness. The witch queen seemed to be unhappy with that news. “You think I can wait that long to know what happened?” Sataria angrily asked Amelia. But the healer seems to be unbothered by the queen’s anger and frustration. She just did what she was told, healed the maid and that’s it. “It’s up to you if you can wait or not. It’s not my problem anymore.” After saying that, Amelia left the castle. In the kingdom of Intel, Sataria is the queen. Humans and witches got along very well in the kingdom. It all started when the witches helped humans to capture and curse vampires. Humans look up to witches as their savior and protector. Sataria ruled the kingdom but she was shaken by the current situation, her position as the queen is at stake. Humans will start questioning her as the vampire king escaped. All the powerful witches are searching for the vampire king as they believe that he hasn’t recovered his full power yet, so they still have a chance to defeat him, sealing him again. Every hour that is passing gives Sataria anxiety. She also went out to hunt down the vampire king. She must find him and seal him until they finally discover what could kill him. Weeks had passed and no one had ever seen any vampire, most importantly the vampire king. The only good news for the kingdom is that the maid is now awake. She is now in the palace court as the council and the queen are interrogating her. “Do you happen to know any vampires?” One of the councillors asked her. “No, sir,” she politely answered. Rasha, the maid, is not yet fully recovered but still has to attend the interrogation or else she will feel the wrath of the queen. She’s scared but she has to be strong. Her grandmother is still waiting for her to come home in the blue village. She works as a maid to earn money so she can buy her grandmother’s medicine and she’s also saving money so she can take her sick grandmother to a witch healer. She knows that human medicine isn’t working well with her grandmother due to her age. “Tell me what happened before the explosion?” The queen asked Rasha impatiently. The queen is tapping her fingers at the top of the table as she waits for Rasha to speak. Everyone was silent as they knew that the queen was mad and couldn’t wait to know what to find out back there at the temple. “I was cleaning the whole place that morning,” Rasha started. Obviously! Sataria almost says it loudly. She wanted to tell Rasha that everyone knows that she’s cleaning because she’s a maid. Sataria is trying her best not to cut her as thin as the thread patience. She bit her lower lip as she listened to Rasha as the maid continued the story. “I swept all the dust first before wiping the entire place as usual,” Rasha said. “We know what your job is!” Sataria shouted. Rasha got frightened by the queen’s angry voice. “I saw dust on the v-vampire king so I wiped it and then…” Rasha couldn’t continue her words as Sataria stood up angrily. “You what?!” Sataria’s face is bright red. “You touched the vampire king?” One of the council members couldn’t believe what they heard. One of the rules is that every maid in the temple is never to touch sleeping like a cursed vampire king. The rule is avoiding the possibility of breaking the curse on the vampire king, which has happened now. “In the next two days you will be sentenced to death!” Sataria said in full authority.
